Description
Our
11 Days Kenya Explorer Safari is a delightful journey
for travelers with limited time away from home yet
who desire an in-depth safari experience. Devoted
exclusively to Kenya, in less than two weeks we touch
upon nearly all of the region’s highlights,
while enjoying exceptional wildlife throughout. Several
flights expedite travel between locations and make
the most of our time in each reserve. Walk with the
animals on a ranch in the Aberdares. Observe some
of the nocturnal activities of the local animal population
from the safety of your tree hotel. Stroll the expansive
manicured grounds of the famous Mount Kenya Safari
Club. And, of course, the thrilling game viewing opportunities
in the Masai Mara, Kenya's most prolific animal haven.

Mount Kenya
Safari Club
Our
destination today is the cool, crisp Kenyan highlands
and the historic Mount Kenya Safari Club, set in over
100 acres of landscaped gardens. Along the way, visit
the craft centers in Nanyuki, including the Spinners
& Weavers, a women's self-help project. They produce
beautiful African designs on cardigans, shawls, carpets,
throws, pullovers, scarves and bedcovers - all of
which are for sale at very reasonable prices.
The
Mount Kenya Safari Club is an exclusive resort which
offers an experience of refined elegance and luxury,
as well as a sense of old Hollywood in its glamorous
past. All of the amenities you would expect from a
fine international establishment are here, including
horseback riding, golf, croquet, a putting green,
a bowling green, table tennis, swimming, a beauty
salon, an animal orphanage, tennis, trout streams
and more. Fine dining, warm hospitality and superb
accommodations of suites or cottages are hallmarks
of our stay.

Mount
Kenya Safari Club (Visit the Sweetwaters Ol Pejeta
Conservancy for the day)
Today
we travel to the exotic Sweetwaters Game Sanctuary
in the secluded heart of Ol Pejeta Ranch and Rhino
Reserve. Here, these magnificent beasts are given
sanctuary from those who would take their lives to
sell their horns. Here too, the Jane Goodall Institute
operates a remarkable Chimpanzee Sanctuary where we
meet the primates face to- face. In fact Sweetwaters
boasts excellent game viewing with the highest ratio
of game to area of any park or reserve in Kenya.

Day 7
Mount Kenya Safari
Club –
Maasai Mara Game Reserve
This
morning we enplane for the Mara, winging west over
the dramatic Great Rift Valley to the unspoiled savannah
of the Maasai Mara where magnificent events await.
Here we may savour a Bush Walk with an expert naturalist
guide, experiencing the world of the Mara from the
ground up— an invigorating opportunity to stretch
our legs and be a part of the land. Or we may try
a Hot-Air Balloon Safari. Our accommodations are equally
superlative at the Mara Safari Club or Kichwa Tempo
Camp with two nights under canvas, recalling the golden
age of safaris.

Days
8 & 9
Explore Maasai Mara
The search for great predators and perhaps even cubs
continues today and tomorrow during extensive game
runs. On the plains are enormous herds of grazing
animals plus the elusive cheetah and leopard hiding
amidst acacia boughs. We also visit a Maasai village
and glimpse life so ancient and yet so enduring that
it astonishes. The true pinnacle of our journey to
the Mara however will be Bush Sundowners—a civilized
cocktail party staged in the untamed wilds of Africa.
