2 Days 1 Night Lake Manyara National Park Safari is an overnight Safari to the Northern Circuit of Tanzania in Lake Manyara National Park. The park is not far from the Ngorongoro Crater. Lake Manyara National Park is 125 kilometers (78 miles) west of Arusha town, which is a half-hour flight or a 2-hour drive. It covers an area of 330 square kilometers (127 square miles), of which about a quarter is Lake Manyara.
The beautiful Lake Manyara National Park in Tanzania is noted for its beauty and incredibly lush acacia forest of giant fig and mahogany trees, which are home to troops of baboons and blue monkeys. The park is also home to a large number of buffaloes, giraffes, elephants, impalas, and a Hippo lake, where large numbers of hippos usually gather.
Well known for its birds (over 400 different species), Lake Manyara is one of the few places where you’ll be able to see the Ground Hornbill and the Crested Eagle. This park has become famous for the climbing lions and the flamingos on the lake shore.
The landscapes of this park are stunning, very different from the Serengeti for example. The game drives are done along the shore of the lake, providing incredible views of giraffes and buffalos in the foreground with the lake, flamingos, and flat plains in the horizon. Great photo opportunities, in the evening return to the Campsite or a Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 1: Arusha – Drive to Lake Manyara National Park – Game Drive – Overnight Stay
0800 Hours: Your adventure begins with breakfast at your hotel in Arusha. You’ll meet your professional tour guide/driver who will provide a brief overview of the safari. Then, you’ll embark on the journey to Lake Manyara National Park, covering approximately 130 kilometers over 2 and a half hours.
1100 Hours: Upon arrival at the park, you’ll dive into the world of wildlife with a game drive. Lake Manyara National Park boasts diverse habitats, from its Rift Valley soda lake to dense woodlands and steep mountainsides. You’ll encounter a rich array of animals including elephants, hippos, zebras, giraffes, baboons, gazelles, and the famed tree-climbing lions.
1300 Hours: Enjoy a picnic lunch at one of the park’s scenic sites. Afterward, continue exploring the park’s wonders with another game drive. Keep an eye out for the vibrant birdlife, such as flamingos, pelicans, Egyptian geese, cormorants, storks, vultures, eagles, swifts, and swallows.
1800 Hours: Conclude the day with a relaxing evening at your chosen accommodation.

Day 2: Explore Lake Manyara National Park – Drive Back to Arusha
0800 Hours: Begin your day with a hearty breakfast at your accommodation. Prepare for another exciting day of wildlife exploration within the beautiful confines of Lake Manyara National Park.
0900 Hours: Embark on a morning game drive. The early hours are an excellent time for spotting nocturnal predators as they wrap up their nightly activities. You’ll also witness the park come to life as diurnal animals start their day.
1200 Hours: Return to your lodge or campsite for lunch and some relaxation. You might enjoy the amenities at your accommodation or simply soak in the views of the park.
1400 Hours: After lunch, set out for an afternoon game drive. This is a great opportunity to visit different parts of the park you might have missed the previous day. Keep an eye out for the park’s famous tree-climbing lions, a sight that’s relatively rare elsewhere.
1600 Hours: Begin your journey back to Arusha.
1800 Hours: Arrive back in Arusha. Your safari concludes with a drop-off at your hotel or residence.
