(Enjoy our 3 Days/ 2 Night Selous Flying Safari From Dar-es-Salaam taking the opportunity with expert driver guides on an unforgettable safari adventure visiting the game-filled wildlife area – Tanzania’s Selous Game Reserve.)

3 Days/ 2 Night Selous Game Reserve Flying Safari

3 Days/ 2 Night Selous Flying Safari From Dar-es-Salaam or Zanzibar wings you to southern Tanzania, Selous Game Reserve Africa's largest game reserve and one of our favorite game viewing areas in Africa. It really is a hidden gem!

It’s much quieter than the Northern parks, the rivers and lakes of the Selous are the lifeblood to a park that hosts phenomenal volumes of game including Africa's largest elephant and wild dog populations and probably it's largest buffalo, hippo, crocodile and lion prides.

Selous is untouched African wilderness and is still easily accessible from Dar and Zanzibar. It is probably our favorite Tanzania safari location. Home to some of Africa's best boat safaris, walking and fly camping trips makes the Selous the park in Tanzania with the greatest diversity of safari activities.

It is not only a great place for the safari enthusiast but also an amazing introduction to un spoilt Africa. The Selous wildlife is all the more interesting as it attracts both east and southern African wildlife, both resident and migratory, and over 440 known species of birds.

Lion are particularly strong here and there are large numbers of leopard. The park is home to over 50% of the endangered African wild dog and also hosts very good buffalo, giraffe, eland, hyena, sable, hippo, crocodile, kudu, baboon, wildebeest, zebra, impala, hartebeest, colobus and vervet monkeys along with over 450 species of bird.

Standard game drives are permitted albeit only in the daytime. The Selous has some of the finest boat safaris in Africa and some of the lodges here have some of the very best walking operations on the continent - Siwandu, Beho Beho and Sand Rivers Selous in particular.

Or

Start the day earlier on a game walk, heading out on Selous’ most privileged of experiences. Accompanied by our experienced guide and an armed ranger, walk out into Africa’s largest wilderness, learn about the complex eco-system that it embraces, encounter the thrills and be enthralled at the wonder of being at the heart of nature.

Return to camp for a splendid lunch, then a difficult decision between a siesta or a dip in the swimming pool whilst waiting for the heat of the day to subside.

Mid afternoon meet for a cup of tea or cooling lemonade and scrumptious cakes under the Jackel Berry tree, and then move onto your second safari of the day - slowly meandering along the Rufiji River or perhaps tracking a leopard and her cub through the woodland.
