Our
adventures in the bush begin with spectacular Amboseli
National Park. Romantically situated in the foothills

variety of big game. Amboseli National Park is home
to the legendary Maasai tribesmen and famous for huge
herds of elephant. An afternoon game run is planned.

– Fly
to Laikipia plateau in northern Kenya
This
morning we travel by light aircraft to Kenya’s
northern frontier. During your two-night stay, you're
bound to see many herds of elephant as well as other
species unique to the region: reticulated giraffe
and the long-necked gerenuk.
There are many activities available including: Guided
bush walks, day and night game drives, swimming, bush
breakfasts, picnic lunches, sundowners, Clay pigeon
shooting, painting and sketching, camel and donkey
treks and visits to the Pokot cultural boma.

Laikipia
plateau
Dawn
breaks in golden bands as we start our day in the
bush by scanning the river from our tent’s veranda
with a cup of steaming coffee in hand. Before the
dew is off the grass, we’re off in pursuit of
the elephants, lions, leopards, and cheetahs that
thrive in the reserve’s grasslands and acacia
woodlands. And so the day is spent in alternating
pursuits of exploration in the bush and relaxation
in Mutamaiyu House on Mugie Ranch.

Maasai Mara
Excitement
and expectations build as we fly to the Maasai Mara
with its myth-like stories of bountiful wildlife.
And we shan’t be disappointed. Our game drives
are rousing exploits in the company of guides who
regale us with bush lore, educate us on conservation
and entertain us with tall tales.
Here
we also experience such adventures as a Masai village
visit, so foreign and yet so welcoming, and a Bush
Walk to indulge all of our senses. And the climax?
Bush Sundowners —a unique joy of safari life,
where one savours the exotic contradiction of a civilized
cocktail party staged in the untamed wildness of Africa.
Our Royal Mara accommodations
provide delightful nights under canvas.

Ngorongoro
Crater
Spend
the morning exploring Manyara National Park, in the
Great Rift Valley. After lunch, we’re off on
the next leg of our journey to Ngorongoro, the eighth
wonder of the natural world. Along the way we drive
through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area—a region
created to accommodate the grazing needs of the Masai
people and a unique test of the idea that humans leading
a pastoral lifestyle can coexist with wildlife.
We
arrive at Ngorongoro in time for dinner. Overnight
at Ngorongoro Gibbs Farm.

Ngorongoro Crater
This
morning we descend 2,000 feet into the giant caldera
of this extinct volcano. This magnificent natural
amphitheatre contains the largest concentration of
animals in all of Africa. Prides of lion, black rhino
and elephant share this land with the legendary Masai
tribesmen. Because the grasses are short, game is
easily spotted and can be approached quite closely.
We
spend a splendid morning on the floor of the crater
observing wildlife in this ageless World Heritage
Site.
