Loyk Tsavo Camp is a tented camp situated in Tsavo East National Park off the Nairobi-Mombasa road, opposite the Tsavo River Gate. It is at the same historical location where Col. John Henry Patterson shot the notorious man-eaters lions of Tsavo.

Loyk Tsavo Camp prides itself of being Tsavo's best-kept secret. The camp can be accessed from Nairobi by driving past the nearest town, Mtito Andei and entering the park through the entrance opposite the Tsavo River Gate (approximately 290 km from Nairobi).

From Mombasa, drive past Voi and the small town of Manyani. You will see the park entrance on the left hand side, after the small town of Manyani (approximately 233 km from Mombasa)

Loyk Tsavo Camp comprises 20 spacious tents, some of which accommodate up to 4 people, all with verandas overlooking the Athi River. All tents are en suite with hot running water and the décor is traditional Swahili architecture.

* Honeymooners/Anniversaries/Birthdays – small cake presented accompanied by singing staff
* Nature Walk within the camp boundary is provided daily by the camp Masai approximately 30 minutes along the river
* Movie ‘Ghost in the Darkness’ shown after dinner in both French and English depicting the history of Col. Patterson’s quest to end the man-eating Lions of Tsavo

* Bush Breakfast – on the river bank

* Bush Dinner – within the camp grounds in a secluded area
* Sundowner: (includes a glass of Patterson's Sundowner cocktail Alcoholic or Non- Alcoholic and nibbles, other drinks will be extra on request i.e. Soft drinks, Beers, wines & Spirits/Liquors which will be charged as per Camp's Bar price list). Located 1/4 km from the camp, Leaving camp from 5.45 pm and return by 6.30 pm. (dangerous to go on foot)
* Bush Walk accompanied by KWS Ranger to the caves which were used by the man-eater lions and the Tsavo Bridge constructed by supervision of Col. Patterson. This can be booked and paid for at the KWS Tsavo River Gate prior on arrival to camp. Charges will be given at the KWS Gate

Loyk Tsavo Camp meals are served in the dining hall where our internationally-trained chef prepares a variety of freshly-cooked, mouth watering cuisine and delicious vegetarian options.

The restaurant serves English and Continental breakfasts and international cuisine, prepared from fresh, locally grown produce. Loyk Tsavo Camp bar is a fully licensed bar serving wine, beer, spirits, and our famous cocktails.

Enjoy a sundowner along the banks of the Athi River and soak up the tranquil atmosphere. Let the sounds of Africa take over as you listen to the therapeutic waters gurgling past and the punctuating rhythms of insects and tree frogs.

All Loyk Tsavo Camp tents are spacious and come en suite with running hot and cold water. The decor is traditional Swahili mangrove pole architecture. Meals are held in the main dining hall, where fresh foods are served daily.

All beds at Loyk Tsavo Camp come with mosquito nets and all house-keeping chores are arranged when you are away game viewing. Alternate to game viewing is to bring a book, kick back and relax; listen to the chirps and sounds of the wild.

The Athi, Galana, and Tsavo rivers are "right there" making it a fast ride to watch the parade of animals lining up to quench their thirst. Sundowners are a short drive from the camp where the sunsets behind the Yatta plateau and reflects onto the river meandering below, while taking in the view, Sunset Cocktails and nibbles are served.

Special Bush Dinners and Breakfast are popular especially with honeymooners; Bush Dinners require notice before arrival.
