The three general room categories that result from the imaginative use of the space are named after the three original areas of the old Stone Town nearby the palace, accessible from the hotel by foot along the narrow winding streets.

* Shangani: the residential area

* Darajani: the market and bazaars

5 Darajani rooms are between 20-30 square meters and have all facilities listed, with typical Zanzibar features and details. 7 Shangani rooms are more spacious, between 30-45 square meters and have either a small suite area or a courtyard balcony. 6 Forodhani rooms have further features such as sea views, mezzanine design, terraces or spectacular high ceilings.
