Naibor Camp Masai Mara (Main Camp) is located at the southern end of Ol Kinyei Ranch overlooking the Talek River and borders the Maasai Mara Game Reserve. Main Naibor Camp is hidden in the riverine woodland of the Talek River about 2 kilometers from the point where it flows into the Mara River, just about the very heart of the Mara Game Reserve.

Main Naibor Camp has a total of 7 tents and 2 suites. Each tent is a private unit complete with shady verandah, his & hers wash basins, en-suite bathroom with flush toilet and safari shower. The tents are all carefully positioned amongst the trees so that each can enjoy the surrounding woodland in complete privacy.

Dining and relaxing usually takes place in the main ‘Mess Tent’ or under the shade of the adjacent trees, ideally located overlooking a wide bend of the Talek river. Comfortable floor-cushions, rugs and sofas invite the weary to relax and enjoy the sounds of the wilderness.

The evening camp-fire provides a welcome spot for pre-dinner drinks after a day of wildlife viewing. Meals are made from the finest fresh ingredients prepared by our experienced chefs.

Dinner is usually enjoyed at the long banquet table, whilst breakfast and lunch may be under the shade of the surrounding trees whilst watching the resident pod of hippos.

Naibor Camp Masai Mara Lounge

Located at the end of the Mess Tent and overlooking the Talek River, our lounge is the ideal place to relax between game drives. Comfortable sofas and chairs are complemented by generously sized floor cushions, offering plenty of space to put up your feet and enjoy a book from our collection.

In the evenings, our staff light the lanterns and candles and provide a blanket if you’re chilly. Look forward to your complementary neck and shoulder massage from our masseuse, Ann, while you visit with fellow guests and await dinner.

At the end of the lounge is a deck overhanging the Talek River, where you can watch Egyptian geese waddling down to the water’s edge or listen to the soothing sound of the rapids curling around the rocks. Would you like your meal on the deck? Just ask, and our staff will set up a table and chairs.

Naibor Camp Masai Mara Activities

Each day is different and depends entirely on what the guest wishes to do. We can walk all day meeting a bush breakfast and picnic lunch; track wildlife; find honey; visit one of the local Maasai villages to learn about their culture and way of life; go on early morning game drives or a guided walk then come return back to camp for breakfast.

Tea is normally brought to the tent at first light as the dawn chorus starts as the stars begin to fade. We could take a full day of game drives picnic lunch and into the Game Reserve, taking chairs and tables for a secluded picnic.

Naibor camp is accessible either by road or by flight. Daily scheduled flights are available from Nairobi's Wilson airport to Siana Springs airstrip which is approximately one hours drive from camp.
