Sandai Homestay and Cottages; Sandai Homestay and Cottages is 3.5 Hours away by road from Nairobi and is located close to Aberdares National Park neighboring Solio Game Reserve and faces Mt. Kenya with its snow capped peaks. Sandai Homestay and Cottages is idyllically situated in the middle of a large private game ranch and is approximately 240 kilometers north of Nairobi in the highlands of Kenya. Despite its altitude of 2000m above sea level, the climate is mild and dry. Sandai Homestay and Cottages consists of a farmhouse and two guest houses with four rooms, each with shower/bath tap and toilet.

Sandai Homestay and Cottages has two more guestrooms in the main house sharing a shower and toilet. The kitchen and dining room is in the farmhouse while the living room is equipped with an open fireplace. Guests usually share the delicious food with the small family of Petra Allmendinger, the farm owner. Enjoy game drives in the neighboring Solio Game Reserve, bush walks and exciting horse riding excursions that can also include a visit to the local Mau Mau caves where the Kenyan freedom fighters used to hide. Petra can also take you on a sight seeing flights in a light airplane.

Sandai Homestay and Cottages climate is mild and dry, despite its altitude of 2000m above sea level and for this reason you don’t have to take malaria prophylaxis. Absolutely clean drinking water and good food is what Sandai Homestay and Cottages guests and family get. Sandai Homestay and Cottages owners have a doctor from Hamburg who operates a clinic approximately 25 Kilometers from Sandai Farm. Hospitals with European standards can be found in Nairobi. The local neighbors at Sandai Homestay and Cottages are white farmers and local people of the Kikuyu Tribe, who are known as very hardworking people.

Sandai Homestay and Cottages Accommodations/Meals

Sandai Homestay and Cottages consist of a big comfortable farmhouse and two guest houses, four rooms, with shower/bath tap and toilet. The guest houses are comfortably furnished. In the main house there are two more guestrooms, sharing a shower and toilet. The kitchen and dining room is in the farmhouse where guests enjoy meals together with the host family. The comfortable living room is equipped with an open fireplace, where you can sit and listen to stories and experiences about Africa. Power is supplied through a generator and solar panels.

You will feel immediately at home in this peaceful and relaxing atmosphere and listen to the voices of the African savannah. You don' t have to be worried about Wildlife as most animals will always be at a safe distance from people, and are more afraid of you than the other way round.

Sandai Homestay and Cottages provides meals with a good variety of meats and vegetables. You also get the pleasure to eat together with the family and other guests at the big table in the dining room. Sandai Homestay and Cottages does accommodate special dietary requirements.
