11 Day Kenya & Tanzania Fly-in Safari Masai Mara Serengeti Ngorongoro

Day 1: Nairobi Arrival -Transfer to Ololo Lodge

Upon arrival in Nairobi, meet an African Spice Safaris representative who will escort you to your new home – Ololo Safari Lodge. Only a short 45-minute drive from Nairobi Airport, Ololo Lodge balances convenience with comfort.

This home-style lodge is family owned and operated, offering a personalized experience full of authenticity. The traditional farmhouse décor is reminiscent of “Out of Africa,” with a fresh and contemporary feel.

Enjoy uninterrupted views of Nairobi National Park from the comfort of the lodge’s spacious verandas. The surrounding gardens provide shelter for many of the 500 bird species of the national park, and four of the Big 5 members can frequently be spotted from Ololo’s main terrace (there are no elephants here).

Day 2, 3 & 4: Olare Motorogi Conservancy (Masai Mara Game Reserve)

After breakfast you will be met and transferred to Wilson Airport where you will catch your flight to the world-famous Masai Mara National Reserve. Once here, you will be transferred to Porini Lion Camp in time for lunch and afternoon tea.

Go on a late afternoon nature walk or game drive followed by a sundowner drink and spot-lit night drive before returning to Porini Lion Camp for dinner.

The following 2 days are dedicated to exploring the rolling savannahs of the Mara on exciting game drives, either searching for the Wildebeest Migration between about August and November, or the prolific resident game all year round.

Find a scenic spot for a delicious picnic lunch and return to camp for nights around the campfire.

Day 5: Masai Mara – Fly to Serengeti National Park

Today you will fly to Kogatende Airstrip, from where you will head to Kimondo Migration Camp to begin your thrilling Serengeti experience. A guide from Kimondo Migration Camp will meet you at the airstrip and game-drive you back to camp, stopping at any wildlife sightings along the way.

Enjoy a leisurely lunch and settle into your tent before going on an afternoon game drive to fully explore your new surroundings. The Serengeti is impressive in terms of both the diversity and density of wildlife found here, so there is plenty to discover each day.

Return to camp in the early evening for drinks around the campfire and dinner.

Day 6 & 7: Serengeti National Park

Safari activities at Kimondo take place in the early morning and late afternoon, when the wildlife is most active. You will explore with expert guides on game drives, looking for the big cats that have made the Serengeti famous, as well as hippos wallowing in muddy pools and giraffe browsing the fresh shoots of an acacia tree.

In between, you will return to camp for a delicious lunch, and to have a siesta or catch up on a good book. Evenings are spent sharing stories of your day’s adventures with other guests around the dinner table.

Day 8,9 & 10: Serengeti – Fly to Ngorongoro Crater

Breakfast at the camp followed by a transfer and a Fly to Lake Manyara airstrip (30 minutes). Upon arrival in Manyara your journey continues onto one of Africa’s most fascinating landmarks – the game-dense Ngorongoro Crater – en route to Gibb’s Farm, your last accommodation stop.

This cozy, homey working farm is on the slopes of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, making it the perfect place to launch your forays into the Ngorongoro Crater, one of the top places in the world to see the Big 5.

The Crater is an extremely popular safari destination because the huge number of animals makes it easy to spot them, especially since the crater walls keep them contained in a landscape of fertile grazing, springs and wetlands. After a full-day in the Crater, return to Gibb’s Farm to take advantage of the spa for a soothing massage – sometimes essential after the bumpy roads of a game drive! – or to simply unwind and birdwatch in their exquisite gardens.

Day 11: Ngorongoro – Fly to Kilimanjaro

Enjoy a final breakfast at the Gibbs Farm before a short drive to the Lake Manyara airstrip for your late-morning flight back to Kilimanjaro Airport in Arusha. The flight will likely stop a couple of times on the way to drop off/ pick up passengers, and the total journey will be approximately 1 hour.

You will land at the international airport so you can simply collect your luggage and check in for your international flight home.
