2 Days 1 Night Rwanda Safari - Akagera National Park from Kigali City
On this unique 2 day, Rwanda Safari you get to enjoy a classical wildlife game drive in Akagera National Park on the open savannahs and a boat trip on Lake Ihema. The tour includes comfortable accommodation for one night on a full board basis, transport in a 4x4 safari vehicle, and the services of an experienced English-speaking guide. The trip begins from your residence in Kigali followed by a transfer to Akagera National Park - Rwanda's only Big Five destination, home to lion, leopard, elephant, black rhino, and buffalo. The afternoon is spent on a game viewing looking for the Big Five, along with giraffes, zebras, etc. The park also attracts an impressive array of birds, numbering over 480 species. On day two we are up early for a boat cruise on Lake Ihema in the Akagera National Park. The boat cruise is ideal for watching hippos, crocodiles, and an abundance of birds. We enjoy the breathtaking wild scenery as we cruise along the papyrus-fringed shores of the lake. After our leisurely boat ride, we leave the Akagera reserve behind and return to Kigali city, where you are transferred to the Kigali International Airport for your onward travels.
2 Days 1 Night Kigali City Tour & Volcanoes National Park Rwanda Safari
This unique 2- day Rwanda safari combines a Kigali city tour with a visit to the Volcanoes National Park for Gorilla Trekking. The tour offers you an insight into Rwanda’s history, culture, and a short mountain gorilla safari experience. On day one, the tour begins with an exciting tour of the attractive city of Kigali, one of the cleanest cities in Africa. The city tour includes a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial, documenting the history of the 1994 Rwandan genocide. We also visit the Caplaki Crafts Village where you can browse and buy traditional crafts. Next, we take a 2-hour drive out of Kigali to Volcanoes National Park – the best destination in Africa for gorilla trekking adventures. Day in the morning we drive to the Volcanoes National Park Headquarters near Kinigi. The trek can take up to eight hours, but seeing the endangered African mountain gorillas in the wild is worth the effort. Once we locate a group of gorillas we stop and spend some time with these gentle primates. After our close encounter with these great apes, we trek back to the start of the trail and begin our leisurely drive back to Kigali.
