This is a fantastic and affordable 2-day Tanzania safari to Arusha National Park, one of the most beautiful parks in Tanzania and located about 30 km south-west of Arusha town. Arusha National Park is approximately a 60 minutes’ drive from Arusha town and 90 minutes from Moshi town. The park is just 552 km2 with a lot to see.
Once at the park we enjoy several activities available in the park giving you a unique perspective of the park’s flora and fauna. Begin with a walking tour accompanied by armed ranger.
Descend through Meru Crater. Along the way you will see attractions such as Ngerenanyuki River, the Uwanja wa Mbogo (Buffalo Glade); this is a natural glade that consists of marsh, bushes and streams. Animals seen include Buffaloes, Warthogs and Giraffes.
Take a traditional picnic lunch after which you continue with the amazing nature walk through the Momella – Tululusia Waterfall trail. After 3 hours the highest vantage point will be reached providing spectacular views over the forest canopy and cool refreshments awaiting you.
Later, we head to our lodge/camp for overnight. Accommodation options include Hatari Lodge (Inside Arusha National Park), Arusha Serena Hotel, Resort & Spa, Ngare Sero Mountain Lodge and Lake Duluti Lodge.
The following morning you will enjoy a peaceful and scenic canoeing safari following the shorelines of small Momella Lake. On this 2- 2.5 hours canoe safari you will be able to view Buffaloes, Bushbuck, Giraffes, Hippos and many water birds living in and close to the water. Equipment used: stable 2-persons fiber glass canoes.
Later proceed on a half day game drive in Arusha National park where animal life is abundant. The park is the famous for white and black colobus monkeys, burchell’s Zebra, giraffe and herds of buffalo, bohor reedbuck, python, elephants bush buck and hippo.
Also, more than 400 species of birds have been recorded in the park, such as pelicans, flamingos, hornbills, fish and snake eagles and buzzards.
The park’s three most significant features include the Mount Meru (Tanzania’s second highest peak), the beautiful Momela Lakes and the 3km wide Ngurdoto Crater. When the clouds are clear you can even see the snow-capped peaks of the Kilimanjaro.

2 Days Arusha National Park Safari Walking Canoeing Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Arusha Town – Drive to Arusha National Park (Guided Walking Tour)
0800 Hours: After breakfast at the hotel, we depart by road to Arusha National Park.
0900 Hours: Upon arriving at the Park, begin our walking tour accompanied by armed ranger. Descend through Meru Crater.
Along the way you will see attractions such as Ngerenanyuki River, the Uwanja wa Mbogo (Buffalo Glade); this is a natural glade that consists of marsh, bushes and streams. Animals seen include buffaloes, warthogs and giraffes.
1300 Hours: Take a traditional picnic lunch after which you continue with the amazing nature walk through the Momella – Tululusia Waterfall trail.
The waterfall is rewarding scenery; it’s approximately 28 meters high. The steep gorge walls created by falls itself are a home to the Red-winged Starlings. The Tululusia hill provides an excellent view of the lower areas of Arusha National Park and the majestic Kilimanjaro Mountain.
Along this trail expect to see animals such as Elephants, Buffaloes, Colubus Monkeys, Red Duiker, Suni, Leopard, and Python among others.
1700 Hours: Later we head to our accommodations located near Arusha National Park.

Day 2: Arusha National Park (Canoeing and Game Drive)
0800 Hours: After a leisure breakfast at the hotel drive to the Small Lake Momella (inside Arusha National Park) for canoeing safari following the shorelines.
Arusha National Park is the only place in Tanzania where you can get close to buffalo without being charged. A well trained safari guide will accompany your canoe safari.
On this 2 to 2.5 hours canoe safari you are likely to see Buffaloes, Bushbuck, Giraffes, Hippos and many water birds living in and close to the water (over 600-species strong bird community).
The park offers great views of Mount Meru and Mount Kilimanjaro at the same time from the exciting luxury of our stable two-person canoes.
Later proceed on a half day game drive in the park which is the famous for white and black Colobus Monkeys, Burchell’s Zebra, Giraffe and herds of Buffalo, Bohor Reedbuck, Python, Elephants bush buck, Hippos and many water birds living in and close to the water.
1700 Hours: Late evening drive back to Arusha town for dinner and overnight.
