Beginning and ending in Arusha Tanzania, this 3-day Tanzania road safari explores Sinya Wildlife Conservancy (55,000 acres), a private wildlife concession on the west of Mt. Kilimanjaro, adjacent to Amboseli in Kenya.

You will stay at a top-quality tented camp inside the Sinya Wildlife Conservancy, enjoying an authentic safari experience away from the crowds. While at Sinya, in addition to your safari guide, you will have a Maasai tracker with you.

Activities in Sinya include day & night game drives, walking safaris escorted by Maasai trackers, and long hikes in the foothills of Mt. Kilimanjaro, and interaction with the local Maasai including participation in some ceremonies if they coincide with your visit.

The Safari begins with collection in Arusha, at the foot of Mt. Meru and we drive to a private concession that the Maasai call Isinya, located to the west of Mount Kilimanjaro opposite Kenya’s Amboseli National Park. The journey takes approximately 2 hours from Arusha.  

Sinya Private Wildlife Conservancy is about 600 square kilometers and is located in Tanzania. The conservancy offers spectacular landscapes with magnificent views of Kilimanjaro, Mount Meru, Ol Doinyo Longido, and the Amboseli plains.

Arrive at Kambi Ya Tembo, a small luxury tented camp in time for lunch, followed by free time to relax and settle in. Then we have afternoon tea, before setting off for a local Maasai village. Walking in the village with a Maasai guide enables us to experience the local culture and see how the Maasai live.

After our encounter with the most famous tribe in Tanzania – the Maasai, we embark on a game drive in the exclusive Sinya Conservancy.

We stop for sundowners at a scenic location in Sinya taking in the views of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest mountain. Continuing our game drive into the night we look out for nocturnal animals in the Private wildlife concession. Back at camp we tuck into a tasty dinner and relax around the campfire.

Day two, we spend the entire day game viewing in the Sinya Wildlife Conservancy which is home to herbivores like Zebra, Wildebeest, Thomson’s and Grant’s gazelle, Maasai Giraffe, Eland, and singular species like Lesser Kudu and Oryx. Gerenuk (Giraffe-gazelle) and striped Hyena have in Sinya their southern limit of distribution.

Predators like Lion, Cheetah, Leopard, and spotted Hyena although usually shy and elusive, are also present in Sinya. Sinya is also a paradise for birdwatchers. Later we return to the comfortable camp and sit back under the stars, soaking up the sounds of the African bush at night.

On day three, we leave the safari camp after breakfast, driving south to Arusha where our 3-day Tanzania road safari comes to an end.
