Departing and ending From Kampala or Entebbe, this wildlife holiday trip combines two great northern savannah parks of Uganda in one trip! The tour begins with a drive to Kidepo Valley National Park located in the semi-arid valleys of Karamoja province on the far northern border of Uganda and Sudan.
Highlights include scenic views, visiting Karamojong tribal villages, bird watching, game drives to see buffaloes, elephants, giraffes, zebras lions, leopards, cheetah, jackals, monkey, hyena, eland, Uganda kob, caracal, etc.
After 2 fruitful days of game viewing at Kidepo Valley National Park, we proceed to Murchison Falls National Park, one of Uganda’s oldest national parks. Murchison is rated as a top safari destination in the country. The national park covers about 3 840 km² (1 480 mi²) of wild habitat in the Albertine Rift Valley, a western part of Africa’s Great Rift Valley.
The Victoria Nile river runs through the national park, plummeting through a narrow gorge to form the spectacular Murchison Falls, after which the park is named. Also known as Kabaraga Falls, Murchison Falls drops about 45m into the river after a series of rapids. Below the cascading falls the great Nile fans out into a broad and placid river flowing into Lake Albert.
Highlights of our visit at Murchison Falls National Park include a drive to the top of the White Nile at Murchison Falls and a boat cruise to watch for wildlife and birds. In Murchison Park wildlife sightings include four of the Big Five (lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard), giraffes, antelopes, and plenty of hippos and Nile crocodiles.
On day 5 of this Uganda wildlife safari holiday, we return to Kampala where our African adventure of a lifetime comes to a close in the early evening.

Day 1: Kampala – Drive to Kidepo Valley National Park
0700 Hours: Our 5-day Kidepo Murchison Falls National Park wildlife Uganda safari begins after an early breakfast followed by a pickup from your hotel/ residence in Kampala. We take the shortest route to Kidepo from Kampala (656 km), Soroti to Kotido via Amuria to the far North-East where Uganda borders Kenya and Southern Sudan.
En-route to your accommodations in the park, you will see some wild animals and birds as well.

Day 2: Explore Kidepo Valley National Park (Game Drive, Scenic Viewing, and Community Walk)
After early morning breakfast, embark on a morning game drive to Kanangorok hot spring. Here a variety of animals and birds can be seen roving around like the fast-running Ostrich.
Return to your camp for lunch and a brief rest before venturing out again for an afternoon game drive. The afternoon game run takes you through the Narus Valley to see herds of buffalo, elephant, giraffe, zebra, lion, leopard, and the elusive cheetah.
An optional cultural tour in the evening to visit the Karamajong community is also available. Here you will spend a wonderful evening with Karamojong people and have an insight of their way of life and beliefs. At the end of the tour, you will be able to understand why their pride makes them slow to adapt to globalization.

Day 3: Kidepo Valley – Drive to Murchison Falls National Park
Today we begin early right after breakfast and check-out, driving to Murchison Falls National Park. We have lunch en route.
Upon arrival at Murchison Falls National Park, we proceed to our accommodations with a game drive en-route. We some luck we might see some elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, etc.

After a hearty breakfast at your lodge/ camp depart for a game drive to the northern part of the park for a game drive. Animals we’re likely to see include elephant, buffalo, Bushbucks, lion, leopard, giraffe, hartebeest, and a variety of bird species.
After lunch, ensue for a two-hour launch cruise up to the substructure of the mighty Murchison Fall whose banks provide an opportunity to see the amazing hippos, crocodiles, water birds along the river banks enabling an excellent birding safari.
Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Murchison Falls National Park– Drive to Kampala
After breakfast departs, Murchison falls National Park and drive to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for a brief tour. Following the extinction of Uganda’s Rhino in the early 1980s during the period of civil unrest and heavy poaching, a sanctuary was established to breed black and white rhino and restore rhino populations in Uganda’s protected areas.
Ziwa Rhino and Wildlife Ranch offers you the opportunity to observe wild rhinos at a very close and safe distance. While at the sanctuary you will also encounter a range of other wildlife species including Uganda kobs, bushbucks, oribis, rich bucks, hippos, and crocodiles.
Later enjoy lunch and after drive back to Kampala dropping you off at your Hotel or Airport if you have a flight on the same day.
