7 Days Uganda Safari Bwindi Queen Elizabeth Kibale Murchison Falls begins from Kampala or Entebbe.

This exciting one-week safari begins by travelling to the number one Uganda’s tourist destination – Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Other than the beautiful scenery of the part, various species of birds and monkeys, you will be highly inspired by the sight of the giant mountain gorilla.

You will thereafter go to Queen Elizabeth National Park – the world’s most biodiversity wildlife sanctuary featuring climbing lions, leopards, hippos, elephants, buffaloes, lots of small game and rare birds.

Proceed to Kibale forest National Park famous for the world’s highest concentration of primates among which is man’s closest relative – the chimpanzee.

Finally, we visit Murchison Falls National Park – Uganda’s biggest wildlife national park where you find lions, elephants, crocodiles, hippos, buffaloes, giraffes, heartbeat, waterbuck, warthog, oribi, and chimpanzee in Budongo forest.

Safari Itinerary in Detail

Day 1: Entebbe/ Kampala – Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

Have breakfast and depart to Bwindi Impenetrable forest National Park. Along the way you will make a rest stop at the craft village at the equator for shopping, then continue to Mbarara for lunch.

After lunch, we proceed driving through the beautiful evergreen mountain country that is, the “Little Switzerland of Uganda”.

Arrive at Bwindi late in the evening.

Day 2: Bwindi for Mountain Gorilla tracking (trekking), forest walk and Rest

After your hearty breakfast early in the morning, move to the ranger station with your packed lunch and tracking gears.

The ranger guide will brief you about how to behave in the presence of the gentle eyed mountain gorillas.

Move into the park to begin the memorable search in the gorilla sanctuary. Have fun in the beautiful prehistoric forest and feel its freshness.

This forest is always wet, moist and it may rain at any time of the day, therefore, you need to wear warm waterproof clothes. Remember to wear long trousers because there are beetles that may sting you.

The time to take meet the gorillas is not known because of the movement of the gorillas as they look for their food.

Also during your search, you may have the chance of seeing other primates that live in the forest like the black-and-white colobus monkey, red tail monkey and chimpanzee.

The moment you meet the brown eyed, calm gorillas you may forget the fatigue you have because it is a memorable and exciting encounter. Stay with them for an hour watching and following the gorillas.

Take their photographs however you need a soundproof camera. In case you are not so tied, you will have the chance of participating in the community walk to the Batwa land.

Day 3: Bwindi Forest – Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park (Afternoon Boat Cruise along the Kazinga Channel)

Having taken breakfast, you will be transferred to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The park is rich in wildlife and others call it a birder’s paradise!

After lunch, enjoy the unique 2-hour boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel and into Lake Edward. This trip passes through possibly the highest concentration of Hippos and many animals may be seen drinking at the water’s edge.

This launch cruise offers an excellent platform for photography. Bird watching and game viewing are wonderful. The prolific bird life is colourful and stupendous with well over 550 resident species recorded making it a magnet for bird watchers.

Day 4: Queen Elizabeth Morning game drive – Drive to Kibale Forest National Park (Chimpanzee Tracking in the afternoon)

An early morning game drive in this park provides excellent opportunities to see Lions, Leopards, Giant Forest Hogs, Cape Buffaloes, Elephants, Defassa Waterbucks, Uganda Kobs, Topis, Bushbucks and many more.

Proceed to Kibale National Park and on the way, you will be able to see an impressive view of the Fabled “Mountains of the Moon” that are in your clear view en route to Fort Portal.

Day 5: Kibale Forest Morning Chimpanzee Tracking.Transfer to Murchison Falls Mational Park

Enjoy a sumptuous breakfast and proceed to the Kanyanchu park headquarters. Here we get a chimpanzee pre-track briefing by the forest guide.

Kanyanchu in the central part of Kibale is the main trailhead for the parks famous forest walks, the most popular of which is the regular Primate Walk.

The activity starts early in the morning at 0800 hours and the success rate to see them in Kibale is over 98%.

Chimpanzee tracking (trekking) can take up to 3 hours. Expect to see other primates such as colobus monkeys, black faced red colobus, red tailed monkeys, olive baboons and an incredible array of birdlife, including the great blue turaco.

You will also see varieties of birds, butterflies and many small insects. The ranger will provide detailed explanations on not only the primates but also on all the forest’s fauna and flora, ensuring that your walk is both informative and enjoyable.

Spend about an hour with the chimpanzees observing them up close and taking some close-up pictures.

The chimpanzee day trek requirements include long trousers preferably jeans, long-sleeved shirts, light hiking boots, a daypack with a litre of bottled water, a wide-brimmed hat and a light rain jacket.

Return to your lodge for lunch and transfer to Murchison Falls National Park.

Day 6: Explore Murchison Falls National Park Game Drives

Have breakfast and drive to the northern part of the park for a game drive. View Elephants, Buffaloes, Bushbucks, Lions, Leopards, Giraffes, Hartebeests and a variety of bird species.

After lunch, ensue for a two-hour launch cruise up to the substructure of the mighty Murchison Fall whose banks provide an opportunity to see the amazing hippos, crocodiles, water birds along the river banks enabling an excellent birding safari.

Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
