All our 8 days Tanzania fly-in safari packages include flights via a small Cessna or Caravan aircraft from the Tanzania airports mentioned above to Tanzania safari destinations such as Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Lake Manyara, Tarangire, Selous, Ruaha, Katavi, Gombe, Mahale Mountains and Lake Tanganyika.
Other fly-in destinations include Tanzania beaches such as Zanzibar, Pemba or Mafia Island. We recommend flying to these destinations from Tanzania airports to avoid long, difficult and tiring journeys driving for hours across the country on roads which are often in a poor state of repair, full of potholes or where the roads are nonexistent.
As well as being a safer way to travel, flying means you do not waste half a day driving from one holiday destination to another and so you have more time for game-viewing or other activities on offer at the safari destination.
The flying itself involves a journey across beautiful landscapes on a tiny plane which is a unique experience. You’ll head out into the bush by air, sometimes landing on just a dirt airstrip in the middle of the wild, which adds another edge to the spirit of adventure. This is a really fantastic way to see the wilderness and you’ll get some awesome views from the air on the way.
When you fly in to the safari destination you will be met at the airstrip by a vehicle from the camp where you are staying and you will go on game drives in the camp’s 4×4 safari vehicle with a qualified and experienced driver-guide who knows the area far better than any visiting drivers and is familiar with the latest wildlife movements.
At the end of your stay, you’ll transfer back to your departing airport by light aircraft, or choose to travel onwards to another camp on your itinerary, anywhere in Tanzania!
