Day 1: Nairobi – Fly to Ukunda in Diani Beach, transfer to Kinondo Kwetu Boutique Beach Hotel

Our 8 Days 7 night on the secluded Galu-Kinondo Beach, begins with a transfer to Wilson Airport Nairobi for your flight to Ukunda. On arrival in Ukunda, meet with your driver for the 15-minute drive to Kinondo Kwetu, where you check-in for 7 nights.

Kinondo Kwetu is a small private hideaway situated on Galu Beach on the south coast of Kenya, with views across the Indian Ocean. With five cottages, three suites, Garden Rooms, and a Private Villa, Kinondo Kwetu is a small and intimate beach hideaway.

Family-owned, this home-away-from-home property is a paradise for those wanting a more personal experience on the Kenyan coast. Kinondo Kwetu is located on a tranquil private beach south of Diani on the southern Kenyan coast, Kinondo Kwetu is distanced from any residential neighbors by rocky cliffs and endless beaches.

Kinondo Kwetu can accommodate up to 38 guests in various cottage rooms and suites, all decorated in a typical Kenyan style, making the use of local traditional craftsmanship. Kinondo is a lovely alternative to the larger beach resorts which otherwise dominate the mainland Kenyan coastline.

Kinondo Kwetu is booked on a fully inclusive basis. The menus are set and served in different venues. Three-course lunches are typically served at tables on the beach, or sometimes in the garden, while dinners may be taken in the main house or privately on the beach.

Day 2 to 7 : Kinondo Kwetu Boutique Beach Hotel

At leisure at Kinondo Kwetu. Relax on the beach, or take part in any of the available activities (some at additional cost) – whether on land (horse riding, mountain biking, game drives in Shimba Hills) or on water (diving, snorkeling, kayaking, yachting).

Kinondo Kwetu is ideal for those travelers who like to combine their beach breaks with lots of activities. Within its grounds are two swimming pools, a horse stable (riding on a moonlit beach is an exhilarating experience), a tennis court, mountain bikes, a library, and a lounge.

On the ocean, you can enjoy diving, snorkeling, kayaking, windsurfing, water-skiing, or hop on one of Kinondo Kwetu’s outriggers, which are always waiting to take you sailing! The lodge also offers yoga and spa treatments, as well as access to a nearby golf course. A visit to Shimba Hills Game Reserve can be booked locally.

Despite its many facilities, Kinondo Kwetu manages to maintain a relaxed, low-key atmosphere. There are lots of spots where you can find peace and seclusion; in the lodge’s airy living room, in one of the watchtowers, where you can watch the sunset over the sea, on a cliff overlooking the ocean, or on the long stretch of white-sand beach that’s only a few steps away from your room.

Owners Ida and Filip Andersson are unobtrusive hosts, and the beach is private and hassle-free.

Day 8: Kinondo Kwetu – Fly to Nairobi

After a leisurely breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to Nairobi or onward travel arrangements.
