The itinerary starts at Kilimanjaro International Airport and ends at Dar es Salaam International Airport, all light-aircraft flights between camps, park fees and taxes, Ngorongoro Crater descent fee, day and night game drives by 4×4, escorted nature walks, finest accommodations and house drinks on safari and medical evacuation insurance.

This fly-in safari opens with the elephants and giant baobab trees of Tarangire while staying at Oliver’s Camp. The camp features only 8 beautifully furnished guest tents and is situated in the remote south-eastern part of the park, in the middle of Tarangire’s unspoilt wilderness.

The range of activities on offer at Oliver’s Camp such as day and night game drives in open vehicles, walking safaris and Hot-air balloon safaris.

Next fly to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and stay at The Highlands, Ngorongoro camp. The camp feels remote, but is within easy reach of Ngorongoro, where you can go on day-long game drives to spot lions, elephants and giraffes, with a midday picnic break under a shady tree.

Other activities include hikes up to the top of Olmoti for staggering views, or take a half-day trip to the soda lake in Empakaai Crater, where thousands of pink flamingos congregate. You can also interact with the local community, learning about Maasai culture and walk the cattle back to the boma at the end of the day.

The tour proceeds with a flight to eastern Serengeti and an area renowned for big cats. Here we stay for 2 nights under canvas in the Namiri Plains Camp situated beneath a huge Acacia tree, consists of a mess and 6 sleeping tents. Enjoy activities such as game drives, walking safaris, hot-air balloon safaris, swimming pool, spa and a library.

The tour ends in Ruaha National Park where you’ll mix guided walks with day and night game drives in a landscape famous for its heavyweights – lion, elephant and buffalo. Your home for two nights is at a beautiful, sophisticated Jabali Ridge lodge built on a hill amid huge granite boulders with mesmerizing views across the vast wilderness of Ruaha.

Day 2: Tarangire National Park (Walking & Game drive)

Set off this morning on a guided walking safari, learning to look for signs of wildlife nearby, from bird calls to tracks in the earth. You can approach smaller creatures such as warthogs, small antelope species and birdlife, all of which are less skittish when approached on foot compared to a vehicle.

Return to camp for lunch and a rest during the heat of the day. After tea and cake, head out on a late-afternoon game drive, stopping for sundowner drinks in a scenic spot.

The adventure continues with a night game drive, seeking out nocturnal species such as mongoose and nightjars, as well as predators such as lions on the move. Return to camp for a late dinner.

Stop at the viewpoint overlooking the crater to soak in the spectacular landscape and continue your drive around the rim until you reach the Olmoti Crater, where you will stay for the next two nights.

If you feel like stretching your legs, you can opt for a guided walk from the camp up to the rim of Olmoti Crater, passing through dense forest and waterfalls on the way.

After breakfast, you will be driven to the airstrip for your morning flight south to Ruaha National Park, a flight of approximately 2 hours. A guide from Jabali Ridge will meet you and game-drive you through this very different park, arriving at the camp for lunch.

Settle in here and enjoy views overlooking the baobab forest and a refreshing swim in the infinity pool, before going on an afternoon game drive, exploring the sandy riverbeds looking for elephants as they dig for water or leopards hiding in the rocky kopjes.
