Loita River Side Mara Camp
Loita River Side Mara Camp is a budget camp situated right on the banks of the Talek River and next to the Masai Mara ‘Talek Gate’ and is ideally placed for self-drive.
The camp is only 200 meters from the main Talek gate which is the entrance to the park. Riverside camp is Masai owned and managed by Kipeen and Everlyne Saiyalel, a local Masai.
The Camp can be reached either by road or by air. The distance from Nairobi to Masai Mara is approximately 250 km. It takes around 5-6 hours by road while flying time takes about 45 minutes. The nearest airport is Keekorok Airport which is 21 km away.
Loita River Side Mara Camp has a total of 30 beds in 10 bands and 2 luxury tents with 2 beds each. Riverside Camp accommodation is in Banda’s which has comfortable beds, shower facilities, hot and cold water, secure lock, and have great views of the Talek River.
Riverside Camp facilities include a dining service, bar & leisure area, hiring of the kitchen area, and a lookout tower over the Talek River. A sun terrace can be found at Riverside Mara Camp and Lodge, along with a shared lounge.
Loita River Side Mara Camp also offers you a camping area with facilities such as running water, washing facilities, and Flush toilets. Campfires are allowed at designated areas within the campsite.
The camp is less than 1 km from Hippo Pool Viewpoint, with a modern outdoor swimming pool, a garden, and a bar are available on-site. The tented camp offers an à la carte or Full English/Irish breakfast. Riverside Mara Camp provides a terrace.
Loita River Side Mara Camp activities at the camp include; game drives, hot air balloon safaris, bush dinners, guided safari walks, bush breakfasts, hiking in the Loita Hills, and Maasai village visits.
