Mara Explorers Camp Backpackers
Mara Explorers Camp Backpackers is a budget camping accommodation situated in the Sekenani area in the Masai Mara Ecosystem, just 3.8 km from the Sekenani gate of the Maasai Mara National Reserve.
The camp can be reached either by road or by air. The distance from Nairobi to Masai Mara is approximately 280 km. It takes around 5-6 hours by road while flying time takes approximately 45 minutes.
Mara Explorers Camp Backpackers has different accommodation facilities; budget dome tent, en-suite cottages & even gusted camping with their own tent and beddings. The en-suite bathrooms have private toilets and hot showers. The shared bathrooms have pit latrine toilet block and hot shower facilities.
Camping – Guest come with their own Tent & Beddings – shared clean pit latrine toilets, hot shower facilities, and use of our self-catering kitchen in the campsite.
Budget Dome Tent Accommodation – Ideal for budget travelers, these tents contain either a single or small double bed with beddings, towels, and solar lighting. Shared clean pit latrine toilets, hot shower facilities, and use of our self-catering kitchen in the campsite.
En Suite Banda Accommodation – This is three double- and two-family sizes, making them perfect for couples, friends, and families. Containing beds with beddings and towels, these rooms are lit with solar lighting and have a private flush toilet and hot shower. Charging of electronics can be done centrally in our bar area.
Guests have the option of using the self-catering kitchen or making use of the onsite restaurant. The kitchen is fitted with a sink with running water, cutlery, basic utensils, and a gas stove. The restaurant serves freshly prepared meals which are locally sourced. Guests can enjoy drinks from the on-site restaurant.
Mara Explorers Camp Backpackers activities include; hot air balloon safaris, local dinner experience, bush camping adventure, local school visits, guided nature walks, Maasai village visits, horse riding, game drives, and local Maasai village homestays.
