Ol Bobongi House Mukima Ridge Nanyuki

Ol Bobongi House is a 4.5-star luxury spacious villa, beautifully-appointed family home set in a 15-acre property on the exclusive Mukima Ridge development in Nanyuki. The villa is a stunning colonial house set against the backdrop of Mount Kenya.

Direction; From Nanyuki on the road out to Timau turn left, after approximately 2 km on the murram road immediately before the Kobil petrol station. Follow the murram road for about 4 km and turn left at the village of ka Mwaura. Proceed 500 meters until you reach the Mukima Ridge security gate on your left just past a borehole.

Ol Bobongi House has 4 bedrooms – 3 of them are en-suite and the 4th bedroom is a mezzanine room over the games room, with 2 queen size beds with a fully equipped bathroom close by. The Hose can accommodate a total of 10 Guests.

The House is a luxury country house and a good base from which to explore all the attractions around Nanyuki, Laikipia, and Mount Kenya. It can accommodate up to 10 people in a sumptuous interior-designed home.

Ol Bobongi House features a drawing room with a French stone fireplace, an elegant dining room, a spacious fitted kitchen with pantry, a boot room, cloakroom, shower room, study, and a huge covered veranda with an outdoor dining area.

The house cinema has a large flat-screen TV with Netflix and literally hundreds of DVD movies for all ages to choose from. In total, 800 square metres/ 8000 square feet – meaning there is lots of space and privacy for guests to relax and enjoy themselves.

Ol Bobongi’s Games Room, Gymnasium & Cinema offers a snooker table, football table, table tennis table, dartboard, bar area and sitting area with big comfortable sofas, a large fireplace and a TV/Media Streamer with over 500 movies for all ages.

The Games Room also offers a fully equipped gymnasium with a treadmill, incline bench, dumbbells, double wheel rollers, exercise bike, weights, exercise mats, massage vibration plate, and massage table. In the gardens are a boules/ Pétanque court, covered breakfast, and lunch pergolas, and a fully equipped barbecue area.

Ol Bobongi House activities available include; Golf, Bush Breakfasts, Sundowners and Picnics, bike safari, trekking, helicopter flights over Mount Kenya, Canyoning, Rock Climbing, and Fishing & hiking on the mountain.

Golf -A beautiful, challenging 9-hole golf course is located in close proximity. Both Lady’s & Gentlemen’s clubs are available from Ol Bobongi House.

Bush Breakfasts – Bush Breakfasts and Sundowners are an integral part of the safari experience. Let us pick a beautiful spot and spoil you with a hearty breakfast in the Bush or some delicious biting’s with your gin and tonic as the huge African sun slips behind the horizon.

Sundowners – Sundowners can be arranged at Ol Bobongi House around our fire pit with stunning views towards the Aberdares were the sunsets.

Bike Safari – Cycling through Ol Pejeta Conservancy, it is possible to get close to the wildlife from your saddle! Finish off with a coffee or lunch at Morani’s restaurant in the centre of the park.

Trekking – There are some wonderful destinations for one-day or multi-day treks, from the Laikipia plains to the higher treks on Mt. Kenya. Gentle trekking to more challenging climbing, there are treks to suit all abilities and ages.

Mount Kenya – Why not trek Africa’s second-highest summit and see the last of the equatorial snow and ice? Both technical and non-technical summits offer views of Mt. Kilimanjaro on a clear day! Fully supported expeditions with qualified guides.

Canyoning – Plunge into the Blue Pools in the Ngare Ndare Forest Reserve. Slide down chutes and abseil in this tropical forest. All safety equipment is provided, along with qualified canyon guides. This is a great family day out and can be tailored to any level. 

Rock Climbing – Ever dreamt of rock climbing? Our UK-certified guides (and equipment) will take you to a wonderful granite dome, overlooking Lewa and Samburu, where it is possible for all ages and abilities to give it a go.

Fishing – Mt. Kenya doesn’t just offer superb trekking; its lakes and rivers are abundant with Brown Trout. We can take you to a variety of locations to catch your supper! Equipment and gillies provided for a fun day out!

Lolldaiga Hills – The Lolldaiga Hills is 50,000 acres of untamed valleys and hills with stunning vistas across Laikipia. With the abundant game and birdlife, it is possible to have the place entirely to yourself.

Lewa Conservancy – A pioneering conservancy that led the way in educating local communities to preserve wildlife, in order to directly benefit from tourism. The HQ of Tusk, this magical conservancy is home to both black and white rhinos.

Ol Pejeta Conservancy – This large private ranch, with its all-weather roads, offers self-drive safaris throughout the year. The Big Five, Hippo Pools, and the Chimp House are just a few of the highlights.

Samburu National Park – This iconic park is set along the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River. Semi-arid wild terrain gives it the last frontier feel. Couple this with the nomadic Samburu Masai who live here and this is often considered the “true Africa.
