River House Gilgil Great Rift Valley is a long colonial-era bungalow set in 50 acres of unspoilt indigenous forest and glades on the banks of a crystal clear stream in Gilgil.
Kenya’s capital Nairobi is about 2 hours drive from the house. There are 3 bedrooms with full baths which comfortably accommodate 8 guests. The bedrooms have closets.
The house has a lounge area with dining area and fire place, well equipped kitchen, furnished verandah and outdoor fire pit.
River House Gilgil Great Rift Valley is on self catering basis or catered basis where guests are welcomed to prepare their own meals or have the chef prepare meal for them.
The beautiful gardens surrounding the house are home to many indigenous trees. There is a rose garden and 3 separate fruit and vegetable gardens which provide the produce for the excellent kitchen.
There are 2 studio chalets are situated across the road from River House. The chalets are fairly simple with a sitting room and kitchen, and two upstairs bedrooms.
Guests are allowed to roam the River House gardens and walks.
Activities in River House include biking, walking trails, trout fishing and bird watching. Close by the house is a golf course and tennis court.
