2 Days Mombasa Safaris Tsavo East National Park 1 Night | 2 Days 1 Night Mombasa Tsavo East Kenya Safari | 2 Days Mombasa Safari Tsavo East National Park | 2 Days Tsavo East Safari | Two Days Mombasa Tsavo East Safari | Mombasa Tsavo East Two Days safari | 1 Night safari Tsavo East National Park | Mombasa Overnight safari to Tsavo East | 2 Days Kenya Safaris

This is a short overnight Kenyan African safari to Tsavo East National Park located only 65 miles on the Nairobi-Mombasa Road (A109) to the Buchuma Gate. The tour is suitable for all ages and group sizes and begins and ends at Mombasa (Kenya Coast).

It departs as a private safari or you can join an existing safari group. Key attractions include the Galana River and the Yatta plateau, as well as several pools and dams used as watering holes by both birds and animals. Tsavo East National Park is one of the best places to see red elephants in Africa.

It’s not just elephants that we’ll see on our game drives, however, as Tsavo East National Park is home to a rich variety of wild animals including the famous Big Five. Keep an eagle eye out for buffalos, rhinos, lions, hyenas, zebras, and all kinds of antelopes like kudu, eland, red hartebeest, and bushbuck. We’re sure to see warthogs and the world’s largest flightless bird – the ostrich.

The tour departs from your hotel/ residence in Mombasa and travels to Tsavo East National Park. Upon arrival, we set off on a 4×4 game drive in Tsavo East. This Kenyan park, jointly with Tsavo West National Park, forms the largest park in Kenya at 13747 sq kilometres. We are fortunate to have a day and a half here in search of more exciting sightings, particularly on the lookout for the famous Tsavo lions.

We take a break from our wildlife adventures for lunch and a rest at our safari lodge, before embarking on a late afternoon game drive. Tsavo East is home to the Cape buffalo, caracal, Tanzanian cheetah, leopard, a diverse abundance of antelope, zebra, black rhino, the ubiquitous elephant, and the famous Tsavo lions.

Not to be outdone there are over 500 species of birds gathered here. A great spot for viewing is the Aruba Dam, whose brown waters attract thirsty wildlife and water birds. End your rewarding day on safari in Tsavo off with optional sundowners and dinner at the safari lodge.

On day two, we rise and shine early this morning for a fresh cup of coffee or tea and rusks before our sunrise game drive. Early mornings are the best time for spotting predators roaming the bush before they settle down for the day. It’s also an excellent time for birdwatching and photography so keep your cameras ready.

Your guide takes you in search of wildlife action using his experience to improve your chances of sighting animals. After our early morning game drive, we return to the camp for a late breakfast at the restaurant. At about noon we have lunch at the lodge, before setting off on an afternoon game drive.

Then we check out and slowly make our way back south through the wilderness watching for mammals, reptiles, insects, and birds as we go. We then exit via the south gate, leaving the magnificent Tsavo East behind and retracing our steps to Mombasa.
