Malaika Camp Masai Mara

Malaika Camp Mara is a private luxury accommodation located right on the Mara River in the heart of the Maasai Mara National Reserve, a 35-minute drive from Talek Gate. Masai Mara is one of the richest wildlife reserves in the world. There are year-round good opportunities to see the Big Five, elephant, lion, buffalo, rhino, and leopard in their natural habitat.

The camp can be reached either by road or by air. The distance from Nairobi to Masai Mara is approximately 280 km. It takes around 5-6 hours by road while flying time takes approximately 45 minutes. The closest Airstrip is Ol Kiombo which is only a 30-minute drive away.

Malaika Camp Mara has 10 tents, each different and tastefully decorated in an African theme. All tents have an excellent and amazing position right beside the Mara River. Each tent has a large double bed or two single beds, a furnished verandah, and an en-suite bathroom with running water, a safari shower with warm water, and a flush toilet.

There is a large restaurant tent that serves both local and international cuisine. Barbecue facilities are available where guests enjoy freshly grilled meat and drink a cold beer or glass of wine at the campfire with a fantastic view of the Mara River.

The Malaika Camp has a unique, fantastic location in the Maasai Mara, the Mara River. Guests who visit in the months of June to October can experience the unique wonder of the Big Migration.

Approximately 1.3 million gnus, over 200,000 zebras, and 350,000 gazelles and antelopes migrate from the Serengeti in Tanzania to Maasai Mara. There they have to cross the Mara River which forms a natural barrier for the wild animals.
