Mara Ngenche Tented Camp

Mara Ngenche Tented Camp is a small, intimate, luxurious, and elegant Camp located at the confluence of the Mara and Talek Rivers in the heart of the Masai Mara Game Reserve.

The camp is hidden in the beautiful panorama of the riverine forest, overlooking a hippo pool that is always busy with these beautiful Large animals with crocodiles always in close proximity.

The camp can be reached either by road or by air. The distance from Nairobi to Masai Mara is approximately 280 km. It takes around 5-6 hours by road while flying time takes approximately 45 minutes. The closest Airstrip is Ol Kiombo which is only a 25-minute drive away.

The area attracts a vast range of animals and is the setting for many of the iconic scenes of river-crossings during the Great Wildebeest Migration. The camp has a relaxed and elegant atmosphere and is an ideal base for experiencing the full adventure of the African bush.

Mara Ngenche Tented Camp has 12 Spacious well-appointed tents are en-suite and decorated with an amazing fusion of modern African decor with old-world charm. Each tent is partially enclosed in its own “Boma”, has a large four-poster king-size bed or two queen-size beds, offers a wonderful view of the River, and is equipped with a large bathtub and outside shower.

Mara Ngenche Safari Camp is unfenced and is designed to allow the exciting movement of animals through the grounds offering an elegant yet relaxed atmosphere for experiencing the full adventure of the African bush. In addition, each tent has its own private plunge pool.

The camp’s dining and lounge area reflects the ambiance of a tented camp but provides the comfort and protection of a permanent building. The open-sided design affords a unique, magical view into the river to a pool of hippos and crocodiles.

Enjoy alfresco dining or wind down with a glass of wine at the campfire as you listen to the sounds of all kinds of wild animals. Dining here is also a feast for the senses bringing international and local flavors together under the watch of carefully trained and attentive staff. Complimentary Wi-Fi Access at the lounge and surrounding areas.

Mara Ngenche Safari Camp activities include; day and night game drives, sundowners, safari walks, cultural visits at the local Masai village, picnic lunches, lectures on Maasai culture by a resident naturalist,s and bush breakfasts/ dinners.

Balloon Safaris are also available to give a once-in-a-lifetime experience of seeing the plains of the Masai Mara at sunrise followed by a Champagne breakfast in the bush.
