Royal Mara Safari Lodge

Royal Mara Safari Lodge Mara is a luxury tented safari lodge located in the Mara North Conservancy bordering Mara National Reserve. Mara North Conservancy is the richest and most varied wildlife section of the Masai Mara wildlife ecosystem.

The Royal Mara safari lodge is situated directly on the annual wildebeest “great migration” route, near the two world-famous wildebeest migration Mara River crossing points and near leopard gorge, all made internationally known by the BBC’s big cat diary television program.

The lodge can be reached either by road or by air. The distance from Nairobi to Masai Mara is approximately 250 km. It takes around 5-6 hours by road while flying time takes about 45 minutes.  Transfer from Mara Shikar Airstrip takes 15 Minutes, Musiara Airstrip (35 Minutes), and Kichwa Tembo Airstrip (75 Minutes).

Royal Mara Safari Lodge has 8 animal-named tents raised on wooden decks with wooden. Each tent features hand-carved furniture, African art, poster beds, electronic safes, mahogany floors, a writing desk and dining table with chairs, and a private outdoor deck. The bathroom is en-suite and fitted with a double vanity sink area, shower, bidet, and flush toilet.

The Main Lodge is ideally located on the Peninsula of Hippo Bend Lagoon and features a reception desk, lounge area, bar area, dining area, bathrooms, and a large veranda with outdoor barbecue all elevated one meter off the ground and overlook the Mara River.

There is also a River Lodge with its own lounge, bar, and dining facilities. Guests can enjoy drinks from the bar at the nearby built-in fireplace or at the outdoor fire pit. Riverside breakfast buffets and lunch barbecues are offered at the River Lodge as well as evening fireside dinners.

Meals are served in varied dining arrangements at the Main Lodge, at the Hippo Bend Lagoon, and at the River Lodge as well as in other wildlife locales. Guests can enjoy their meals along the edge of the Mara River in view of our resident hippos, luscious barbecues on the open plain savannah, private candlelit dinners on the guests’ River tent veranda, or dine in the bush amidst the wildlife and under the stars.

Royal Mara Safari Lodge Mara activities include; day game drives, sunset cocktails, Maasai Village visits, bush walks, night game drives, bird watching, and hot air balloon safari.
