White Water Rafting Tana River

Test the waters on Kenya’s roughest river – the mighty Tana, Kenya’s longest river with the largest drops and currents that will make your adrenaline have its own rush!

Our 3 days 2 nights rafting trip on Tana River is ideal for guests with few days to spare when visiting Nairobi, or those basing themselves in the capital (only 100km’s along the Nyeri Road).

Tana River White Water Rafting adventure package includes a day on the Tana then a second, action-packed day on the Mathioya River. Mathioya River can only be run during certain water levels.

The Mathioya is one of the hardest rafting rivers in Kenya with over 450 meters of descent over its 22 kilometers length. This is a narrow, technical river. It is fairly low volume even during the rainy season but contains serious, sustained grade IV/ V whitewater. Previous experience is required.

The tour includes exciting days of thrills (and often spills) with a great mix of high action whitewater (up to grade V) interspersed with scenic calm water where bird-life abounds.

When at the camp, there are many optional activities on offer from the camp like Zip lining across the River Tana, sundowners, mountain biking, nature walks, kayaking sessions, bungee jumping, and much more.

All these are at an extra cost.
