The park (137km²), has terrain ranging from open savannah through acacia scrub lands to Afro-montane cloud and rain forest and Afro-alpine vegetation similar to Mount Kilimanjaro.

There are several alkaline lakes and the spectacular Ngurdoto Crater. Although small, the park has a wealth of wildlife including colobus monkeys, vervet monkeys, bushbucks, buffaloes, red forest duikers, hippos, elephants, and giraffes.

1400 Hours: Another game drive in the park is planned. Hatari was filmed on location in Tanganyika, (in what is now Arusha National Park Northern Tanzania).

Hatari is a 1962 American film directed by Hawks and starring John Wayne John Wayne Marion Mitchell Morrison, born Marion Robert Morrison, better known by his stage name John Wayne, was an American film actor, director and producer.

He epitomized rugged masculinity and has become an enduring American icon. He is famous for his distinctive voice, walk and height. The title means "danger" in Swahili, which was mentioned in the film as well.

Portraying a group of hunters, the film presents an interesting if antiquated portrait of Africa still dominated by non-Africans.

The film is extremely popular because of the dramatic wildlife chases and the magnificent backdrop scenery of Mount Meru, a dormant volcano.

Mount Kilimanjaro 1 Day Hiking Trip

Mount Kilimanjaro 1 Day Hiking Trip from Arusha is a short walk at Mount Kilimanjaro for those who do not wish to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro to the top and yet want to experience the magic of the Mountain.

This hiking trip to the first hut will allow you to have a feel of the mountain for one day and the hike through the rain forest will be breathtaking.

One advantage of this day trip is that you will not be required to have any special mountain climbing gears.

All that you need for this trek is comfortable clothing, comfortable walking shoes and a rain coat in case it rains on your way up.

0700 Hours: You will be picked from your hotel and drive to Marangu where the gate for Mt. Kilimanjaro National park is (1970 meters)

0830 Hours: At the gate you will meet with our well experienced guide who will give you brief information about the hike.

You will walk for about 3-4 hours to the first hut (Mandara hut) and you will arrive there in the afternoon.

1230 Hours: Lunch will be served when you reach the hut. From the hut you have a great view over Moshi district.

1400 Hours: After your lunch your guide will give you a short walk to Maundi crater before walking down to Marangu gate.

You will walk down to Marangu gate and this walk will take you about 2 hours walking slowly as you observe for anything that you might have missed on your way up.

A visit to the Maasai Cultural Museum within the same compound will give you an insight about the Maasai people and their culture.

Nairobi Snake Park Day Tour is an informative one hour guided tour to the popular attraction and research facility for reptiles, breeding of snakes located adjacent to Nairobi National Museum – Kenya. There are crocodiles, octopus, giant snails, snakes, prawns and fish etc.

Nairobi Snake Park is one of the National Museums of Kenya attractions located within the compound of the Nairobi National Museum. It is located at the Museum hill approximately 10 minutes drive from the Nairobi city centre.

On display are, cobras, puff adders, mambas and the large African-Rock python (non-poisonous) found only in Kenya. Other animals include several species of crocodile found in Africa, the American alligator, fresh water terrapins and tortoises.

Also on display are aquariums holding coral fish from the East African lakes and rivers. Nairobi snake park provides refuge and home for abandoned and unwanted reptiles including a giant tortoise that is still currently living at the park.

The specimen was found wondering along a road in Limuru in 1961. The public in Nairobi over the years to date has continued to receive help in removal of snakes from residential premises as well as advice on handling of reptiles especially snakes.

Ngong racecourse is operated by the Jockey Club of Kenya. The racecourse is a right hand turf track of about 2400 meters. It includes a six furlong straight and two chutes of 2060 metres and 1800 metres. The facility also includes sand and dirt training tracks both inside the turf track.
