Julias River Camp Mara offers accommodation in the Masai Mara National Reserve. The camp is situated 8 kilometers from Talek Gate, within the Masai Mara Nature Reserve in Kenya.

The safari camp is pitched along the Banks of the Talek River in Masai Mara offering 3 different types of camps;

* Hippo Camp (Classic Tent) with 12 dome tents.
* Buffalo Camp (Classic Superior Tent) with large Savannah Tents
* VIP Camp with 4 extra-large savannah tents ideal setting for honeymooners and private groups

Julia’s River Camp Mara tents are pitched along the banks of the Talek, only a few feet from the river and sit on their own elevated wooden platform, offering privileged views.

With three sub-camps to choose from, the camp something for everyone’s taste and budget. The Hippo camp is the most economical budget option.

This camp has 12 dome tents comprising of sewn-in mosquito net, comfortable beds with fine cotton sheets and duvets.

All hippo camp tents also have bedside tables, solar powered lighting and private en-suite bathrooms with hot running water 24hrs a day and flushing toilets.

The Buffalo Camp, comprising 12 large savannah tents with sewn-in mosquito nets, comfortable beds with fine cotton sheets and duvets, bedside tables, solar powered lighting and private en-suite bathrooms with hot running water 24 hours and flushing toilets.

Furthermore, Buffalo Camp offers shade netting for cooler tent and a larger bathroom and bedroom, offering the best combination between price and comfort.

The VIP Camp; comprising 4 extra-large savannah tents with sewn-in mosquito nets, single or double comfortable beds with fine cotton sheets and duvets, bedside tables, solar powered lighting and private en-suite bathroom with hot running water 24 h/ day  and flushing toilet.

The VIP camp is located in a secluded wood on the river bank and is the ideal setting for honeymooners and private groups.

The tents are located in different sections of the camp and feature a seating area, solar powered lighting and en-suite bathroom with hot-running water 24 hours a day. Towels are also provided.

Guests can enjoy the on-site restaurant with special diet menus available on request. The property also offers packed lunches. There are 3 different communal mess tents where guests can relax and enjoy a drink at the end of a long day’s safari.

Activities available include Governor’s Camp hot air balloon safari, Maasai village visits and game drives in open 4×4 Toyota Land Cruisers.

JK Mara Camp is set amongst the picturesque African plains of the 1800 acre Muliban Conservancy, adjacent to the Talek River within Talek area in the Masai Mara, Kenya.

The Maasai Mara National Reserve is 10 minutes drive from the camp. The Camp has 14 stylish and comfortable tents, each with an en-suite bathroom with a flush toilet and hot showers.

The tents are furnished with twin beds, triple beds or a king-size bed and guests can relax on their private verandas while enjoying nature and the wildlife and are fitted with camera and phone charging facilities available on request.

Maasai Trails Jans Camp is based in the Loita Hills, on the western edge of the Great Rift Valley just north of the Tanzanian border.  The camp is set on a ridge facing the East and looking over the rolling hills of the Loita Naimina Enkyio forest. Nairobi is 260 kilometers – a 6 hour drive away.

The camp has different types of accommodation comprising of fusion huts and Tents. The 3 fusion huts is a mixture of traditional construction and modern finishing.

Each hut is fitted with toilets and hot and cold running water shower, solar powered lights and can accommodate 2 guests. This side of the camp includes a large mess with library and a separate kitchen.

The 2 large family-tents are set on the edge of the forest, here guests get real feel of being inside the forest. The tents can accommodate 3 guests each.  The tents can be used separately from the main camp and has its own kitchen and dining area.

Guests who prefer self catering services can use the available  private kitchen and dining tent. The kitchen is fully equipped. Also available is a chef and a camp staff. Main activities here is walking safaris and village visits.

Jacquelines House Holiday Home Masai Mara is located along the Mara River in Masai Mara National Reserve, a kilometer from the Oloololo Gate to the Mara Triangle. The Musiara Gate is 3 kilometers away from the private house and offers a self-catering option.

The house has 4 bedrooms amongst which 2 are en-suites with simple shower rooms.  There is an upstairs lounge full of old books and a large verandah with a beautiful view of the Mara paradise plains and the Mara river.

House Wild Masai Mara is a private home tucked away on a 1000 acre private farm called Naretoi on the edge of the Maasai Mara.  The house sits on the banks of the Mara River and is surrounded by game within the Enonkishu Conservancy and is about 15 minutes drive from Ngerende Airstrip.

2 Days 1 Night Materuni Village Cultural Tourism Moshi Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Arusha – Drive to Materuni Village
0800 Hours: Our 2 days 1 night Materuni village cultural tourism Moshi tour begins from Arusha, Moshi, Marangu or Kilimanjaro International Airport with a pick you up and travel to Materuni village.

0900 Hours: Once at the village you will be guided by a local knowledgeable guide and you begin the tour with a visit to Materuni waterfalls, located  a 40 minute walk away.

Along the way you will learn about village economy, agricultural and tribal cultural life of the local Chagga people. At the waterfalls, you will see enjoy the views and also get a chance to swim at the bottom of the waterfall. (Remember to bring your swimwear).

1300 Hours: Later you will return to Materuni village, where you will have a traditional Chagga lunch. You also will have the opportunity to taste some local banana beer!

1400 Hours: The afternoon begins with a coffee experience. Here you learn how the coffee is cultivated, dried, roasted and further processed. You will be invited to help with the grinding of the coffee.

The grinding of the coffee is always accompanied by traditional songs and dances – a fun way to immerse yourself in the local culture. Last, but not least, you will have the chance to taste the coffee you made.

After, your guide will take you on a short walk to the top of the village where there is a fantastic spot to enjoy the sunset with a view of Mount Kilimanjaro.

Later in the evening, you are invited to cook a traditional chagga dish together with Mama Agnes for dinner. After dinner, you will have time to relax.

Your overnight accommodation is in a comfortable tent at Mama Agnes’s camp site. While falling asleep you will have happy memories of the day in the middle of  the peaceful and natural surroundings of the camp.

Day 2: Materuni Village – Drive to Arusha
0800 Hours: The following morning, you will be awakened by the smell of freshly prepared coffee. After breakfast, you will have the opportunity to take a short walk to visit a primary school.

Later in the village you will say goodbye to your hosts as you enjoy farewell celebration songs from the Materuni Traditional Dance Group before returning to Arusha, Moshi, Marangu or Kilimanjaro International Airport.

Hammerkop Migration Camp Masai Mara overlooks the Hippo Pool along the Mara River within the inner region of the Masai Mara National Reserve.  The Camp is about 300 kilometers from Nairobi and it will take you about 6 hours drive or about 45 minutes flight.  Musiara airstrip is about 15 minutes drive from the camp.

There are 6 exclusive tents comprising of 1 family tent, 3 king deluxe tents and 2 queen twin tents all with en-suite bathroom with shower and flush toilets. Each tent has work desk, private entrance, carpet, closet and verandah with furniture.
