2 Days Murchison Falls Safari Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary Tour is a short overnight wildlife safari from Kampala and begins with a visit to Ziwa Rhino and Wildlife Ranch located in Nakasongola 176 km’s North of Kampala off Kampala – Gulu Highway.
The sanctuary is the proud home of the only wild rhinos in Uganda and is popular with tourists; for rhino trekking, bird watching, nature walks and relaxation.
Rhino trekking takes about 2 hours in the company of well trained and knowledgeable local guides.
Later we proceed to Murchison falls National Park where there are myriad of activities such as wildlife game drives, nocturnal game drives, Nile River boat safari, Murchison Falls – top of the falls hike and Nile Delta boat ride.
Other activities available include hot air balloon wildlife safaris, birding at the park, hiking in the park, visit Kibiro salt gardens & fishing village, chimpanzee tracking at Budongo forest and Boomu Ugandan village visits.
Murchison Falls National Park in Uganda is the largest wildlife reserve in the country. It is home to more Rothschild Giraffes than anywhere else in Africa. Vast herds of elephants, buffaloes, and antelopes.
This is also carnivore country and you can see lion, leopard other cats here.
There are many things to do and see in Murchison Falls National Park, something for everyone, most of all you experience the African wild, the African bush, forest, wildlife, birds, primates and the River Nile.

Day 1: Kampala – Drive to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary – Porceed to Murchison Falls National Park
After your breakfast, we drive through the famous Luwero triangle. On our way we visit and track White Rhinos at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary.
This sanctuary has now been established to breed black and white rhino, and restore Rhino population in Uganda’s protected areas at a later stage.
We will continue through the park stopping at the top of the falls which is a fantastic sight. Here the Nile, the longest river in the world, is forced through a narrow gap in the rock (only 7 meters wide), before ferociously plunging down 43 meters.
From here we will continue onto our accommodation located along the Nile River.

Day 2: Murchison Falls National Park – Drive to Kampala
0600 Hours: Enjoy an cup of tea, coffee or Hot chocolate then proceed for an early morning safari game drive Murchison Falls National Park looking for giraffes, elephants, lions, leopard, hippos, crocodiles, etc.
0930 Hours: Breakfast at the lodge then head to the Delta in search for bird life enjoying a game drive to looking for elephant, the Cape Buffalo, Jackson’s Hartebeest, the lion, the Rothschild Giraffe, the Oribi, Uganda Kob, leopard etc.
1230 Hours: We will drive back to the lodge for lunch before taking an afternoon boat cruise to the foot of Murchison Falls.
This boat trip along the Nile is often cited as being the highlight of a trip to Murchison since it allows you to get up-close and personal with the animals.
Along this stretch of the river, there are reported to be around 4,000 hippos in addition to some enormous Nile crocodiles.
The bird life is stunning with brightly colored kingfishers and bee-eaters darting along the riverbanks.
The boat takes you to the base of the falls which only adds to their impressiveness.

Day 1: Kampala – Drive to Murchison Falls Park (Travel time: 6 hours’ drive from Kampala to Murchison)
0600 Hours: An early breakfast followed by a short safari briefing, you will depart your hotel and drive (6 hours drive; 360 km's) to Murchison Falls National Park.
The drive takes you through the historical Luwero triangle enjoying the sceneries and lunch break in Masindi town.
Arrive at your choice of lodging, check in and lunch follows. After lunch, we drive out of town along a dirt road for 25 minutes and arrive at the Murchison Falls National Park.
An afternoon boat ride is planned up the Nile River to the most powerful falls in the world. You are also bound to see lots of wildlife, primates and reptiles along the river and on the shore.
A variety of birds like fish eagles, cormorants, herons, kingfishers among others may be seen. The sight of the falls is rewarding and breathe taking.

Day 2: Murchison Falls Park – Drive to Kampala
0630 Hours: After an early morning breakfast we depart for a game drive across the savanna, along Lake Albert Delta. You will see abundant wildlife as the sun rises.
Murchison Falls National Park offers a variety of game including elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo, hartebeest, giraffe and a heaven of antelopes.
1100 Hours: We return to the hotel and check out, then drive to Masindi town for lunch at either Masindi Hotel or Court View Hotel and later proceed to Kampala.
En-route we stop at the top of the falls where you will get a great sense from above – It's an awesome sight and experience.
Later you will enjoy lunch at the oldest hotel in Uganda, the Masindi Hotel and then back on the road for a late afternoon arrival in Kampala. If time allows you can go on a shopping spree at the craft market on Buganda road.

Kibale National Park has a huge forest with plenty of wildlife and among these include primates like chimpanzees. Kibale Forest National Park is one of the best safari destinations in Africa for chimpanzee tracking.
Kibale National Park is home to a vast number of species of birds as well as the greatest variety and concentration of primates found anywhere in East Africa; 13 remarkable primate species, including L'Hoests and red colobus monkeys flourish within the park.
To add to this the fact that the elusive forest elephant move seasonally through the forest and you can see why Kibale National Park is a superb safari destination.
The park itself is easily accessible with a good internal infrastructure; many of the facilities are community based, thus providing the local population with the necessary revenue to ensure the long-term protection of the area.
As the most accessible of Uganda's major rainforests, Kibale is a home for over 13 remarkable primate species, including L'Hoest's and red colobus monkey. The elusive forest elephant migrate seasonally into the developed part of the park.

Day 1: Kampala – Drive to Kibale National Park
Our chimpanzee Trekking tour guide will pick you from your Hotel for your journey to Kibale Chimpanzee safari Park (320 Kilometers).
The drive to Kibale will take you 4-5 hours arriving at your lodge in Kibale early afternoon. You will have your lunch in Fort portal town and proceed to the park and check in at your lodge.
You will have the afternoon free to relax or enjoy a 2 to 3 hours guided nature walk in the wildlife-rich Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary for sightings of a variety monkeys, birds, trees, shrubs and vines.
You could also enjoy cultural performances and traditional dances among the two major tribes around Kibale Park (Batooro and Bakiga).

Day 2 : Kibale National Park – Drive to Kampala
On day 2 of your Uganda Chimpanzee tour, your will have breakfast and assemble at your briefing point. Your primate walk will start from Kanyanchu River camp at 0800 Hours.
It will last for 2-4 hours and is the most popular walk, highlighting diversity of different animals and plants species within the forest.
This walk is restricted to three groups of six persons each, in the morning and the same number in the afternoon.
The search for chimpanzees and other primates including; The black and white Colobus monkeys, Red-tailed and grey cheeked Manga bays swinging through the dense forest and variety of bird species, butterflies and lots of insects in close quarters.
After the chimp experience you will return to your lodge for lunch then start your journey back to Kampala. Travel Time: 5 Hours. Expect to arrive at 1900 Hours.

Samburu Game Lodge is beautifully situated in 10 acres of pristine riverine forest on the western banks of the Uaso Nyiro River in the arid heart of Samburu National Reserve, Kenya. The lodge is 320 kilometers from Nairobi – a 6 hour drive by road or a 60 minute flight from Nairobi Wilson Airport.
The lodge has 61 guestrooms comprising of cottages, rooms and suites all decorated using the finest materials and fabrics. Each room is tastefully fitted with a safe, writing desk, chairs, wall fan, en-suite bathrooms and private balconies overlooking the river. There are also several family rooms and one room has been custom designed to accommodate the special needs of physically challenged persons.
The onsite restaurant called Lorokushu Restaurant is designed in distinct African style with high thatched roof. Guests enjoy their mouth watering cuisine while overlooking the Uaso Nyiro river. Diners are entertained by a Samburu flute player.
The crocodile bar is on the level of the river bank to allow guests to look crocodiles in the eye as they sip their sundowners. Towards sunset each day, bait is put out to attract crocodiles to within feet of watchers, but in conditions of perfect safety.
The Vulturine Bar draws on Samburu's abundant and unique bird life and is opened throughout the day and evening, also overlooking the river. Comfortable seats ring this bar and guests can hide from the sun in the afternoon or watch it set in the evening while sipping a cold drink.
There is an outdoor pool which is the perfect place to relax after a hot day on a Kenya safari. The enclosed area shaded by flowering shrubs around the pool also has sun beds and a pool side bar serving drinks and snacks. The swimming pool also features a Jacuzzi and a game viewing deck overlooking Samburu Game Reserve.

Samburu Sopa Lodge is located inside the Samburu National Reserve in Northern Kenya and is built atop high ground allowing panoramic views of the vastness of Samburu. Nairobi is 325 kilometers away and it takes 7 hours by road or 1.5 hours flight to the lodge.
The lodge has 30 individual guest cottages each comprising of 2 rooms, forming buffalo horn pattern converge at the public facilities area, leaving the open end to free movement of the wildlife to access the waterhole. Local materials have been used in the construction, furnishings and interior decoration.
Each guestroom is tastefully fitted with 2 queen size beds, closet, large dressing table, en-suite bathroom with a shower stall and an open air veranda which overlooks the waterhole. The architecture blends in with the area, to keep up with the style of the housing by the local Samburu people.
Samburu Sopa Lodge dining area is open air and has superb views of the landscape and of the water hole. The dining area features traditional designs, curvaceous buffet tables and live cooking areas with wide selection of delicious fusions of different culinary disciplines coupled with garden fresh fruits and vegetables. Outdoor dining is available at the terrace.
The well stocked bar serves variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and is located against the rear wall of the lounge. The lounge has an extremely high ceiling and is comfortably furnished with no front or side walls. There is an outdoor swimming pool tiled with various shades of blue mosaic tiles and is surrounded by a local flat stone sunbathing area.
Next to the pool are children’s pool, outdoor shower, and sunken bar as well as views over the waterhole. Samburu Sopa Lodge has banquet facilities that provide a perfect place for conferences, gala dinners and other corporate events. Samburu Simba Lodge is located on the Buffalo Springs National Reserve within Isiolo District. Buffalo Springs is located on the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River, 300 kilometers North of Nairobi. Samburu Airstrip is 15 kilometers from the lodge.The lodge has 7 villas that house 70 rooms and every villa has 6 rooms on the ground floor and 4 rooms on the first floor.
The back wall of the room has rough, soothing brick stone detailing and each room is tastefully fitted with a ceiling fan, work desk, seating area and large sliding double doors open onto the private verandah outside where you can spend time in comfortable lounge chairs. The en-suite bathrooms have a shower with warm or cold water.
The lodge serves a wide variety of African and continental dishes can be enjoyed at the on-site restaurant. Outdoor dining is available at the terrace which is fitted with four-sitter tables. Sentrim Samburu Lodge is on the banks of Ewaso Nyiro river in Samburu National Reserve, in the Northern Kenya. The lodge is 345 kilometers north of Nairobi. The journey to Sentrim Samburu involves a 50 minutes flight to the Isiolo Airstrip followed by a 35 minutes drive through Samburu Game Reserve to the Lodge.
The lodge has 21 luxury tents and 1 family house, all with tea / coffee making facilities, minibars, fans, tile/marble floor, personal safe, mosquito nets, clothes racks, furnished verandahs and en-suite bathrooms with permanent shower and flush toilet. Sasaab Lodge Samburu Game Reserve Luxury Safari Accommodation is situated above the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River, within the Northern Frontier district in the arid heart of Samburu land.
The lodge is a 6 hours drive from Nairobi, across the Equator and past Mount Kenya, into the Northern Frontier District.
By air the camp is 1.5 hours flight from Nairobi into Samburu National Reserve, Buffalo Springs, and then a 1 ½ hour drive through Samburu Reserve to Sasaab with a game drive on the way.
The drive from Nairobi is approximately 9 hours (subject to quality of road), past Mount Kenya and up into the Northern Frontier District.
Sasaab has 9 suites all over 100 meters squared. Suites 8 and 9 are joined and share a private plunge pool. All other rooms have their own private plunge pool.
Each cottage lavishly fitted with 4 poster bed(s), fan, mosquito net, in room safe, private plunge pool and an enormous open-air bathroom with a double vanity and an undercover, open-sided shower with a view.
The cuisine at Sasaab Lodge Samburu is impeccable, using only the freshest ingredients from their own vegetable garden.
Guest can enjoy their meals in the dining tent or al-fresco. The lodge has also has a main swimming pool, built on the hillside overlooking the river where guests can relax in the hot afternoons.
The lodge’s modern beauty and health centre “Sasaab” uses 100% natural skin care products like the Liz Earle skin care products and an assortment of natural Kenyan ingredients for treatments and is located on the banks of the river, allowing guests to relax and get pampered amongst breathtaking scenery.
The Spa also offers enough room for yoga and palates classes.

Samburu Intrepids Tented Camp is situated on the banks of the Uaso Nyiro River in the arid heart of Samburu National Reserve, 345 kilometers north of Nairobi. The journey to the camp involves a 50-minute flight to the Samburu airstrip followed by a 20-minute drive through the reserve.
The camp sits on raised decks overlooking the brown Uaso Nyiro river and has 28 modern luxury tents comprising of twin tents, double tents, single tents and triple tents. Each thatched roof tent is tastefully fitted with 4 poster bed, mahogany closet, work desk, balcony and en-suite bathroom with a steaming hot shower, twin washbasins and flush toilet.
The thatched guest seating area, dining room and bar are located in a single structure where guests can spend time with a good hardcover from the camp library while sipping a cool drink. The lounge and bar area also offers an ideal venue where the Samburu naturalists deliver fascinating slide shows on most evenings and an intimate conference room with a television for viewing wildlife documentaries.
The camp serves an appetizing range of dishes which can be enjoyed on the private veranda or at one of a series of specially selected ‘bush sites’ close to camp. Samburu Intrepids Camp has a freeform swimming pool with sunbathing garden and a boutique selling souvenirs and safari essentials.
Activities in the camp include game drives, Samburu village visits, walking safaris with skilled Samburu guides, star gazing, sedate camel rides and raft trips when the river is high.
