Manda Bay Lodge Manda Island Lamu Boutique Resort is on Manda Island in Northern Kenya’s Lamu/ Kiwayu archipelago.

Manda Bay is a luxury 4-star hotel situated 25 minutes from Lamu airport – a small airstrip that serves flights to Lamu from Nairobi, Malindi and Mombasa.

The airport is located on the Manda Island across the channel from Lamu Town. This is a small airport with the minimum of facilities, but does include a small duty free shop.

Passengers arriving at Lamu airport will require a ferry or boat to transport them from the island to the mainland. Manda is an island of the Lamu Archipelago of Kenya.

The island is now linked by ferry to Lamu and is home to Manda Airport. Flying time from Nairobi to Manda Island Airport is 1 hour & 30 Minutes).

Manda Bay lodge has 16 spacious cottages line the beach overlooking the calm waters of Manda Bay in the Indian Ocean. Manda Bay has 16 rooms facing the ocean each with en-suite bathrooms.

The bathrooms have twin basins, flushing loos and hot showers. There are 7 rooms with king-size double beds and nine rooms that can be made into double or twin beds.

Manda Bay houses a central dining room and a large lounge and bar area on the waterfront. The food at Manda embraces all the rich flavors not only of the sea but also the culture of both Swahili and European tastes.

Manda Bay lodge activities include sailing, kayaking, windsurfing, scenic bird walks and drives and deep sea fishing.

Other activities include motorized water sports such as water skiing, banana rides and tubing, line fishing, inshore fly fishing, bottom fishing; snorkeling, visits to Lamu, the Takwa ruins, Kiwayu and Kipungani.

Laragai House Borana Conservancy Laikipia Plateau is a luxury safari villa located in Borana conservancy, Laikipia adjacent to the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy. It is situated 17 miles north of the equator (Nanyuki).

Laragai has panoramic views into the Northern Frontier District, across the ranch and up to Mount Kenya. This luxury House is a 4 hour drive from Nairobi and a 1 hour drive from Nanyuki.

By air from Nairobi, you land in the neighboring Lewa Downs (1 hour drive from Laragai). Laragai House has an airstrip on Borana for charter flights, a 10-minute drive from the house.

Laragai also has its own helicopter landing site. Laragai has 8 bedrooms: 4 luxurious double rooms and 2 twin rooms complete with spacious en-suite bathrooms plus two children’s twin rooms sharing a bathroom.

The two master bedrooms have fireplaces. The house is booked on an exclusive basis for a minimum of 6 guests.

All food is freshly prepared in the kitchen. The rates are full board and are inclusive of selected house spirits, soft drinks, beers and house wines.

Guests can also take part in activities such as night and day game drives, guided wildlife, bird life and scenic walks, horse riding (novice and experienced riders), mountain biking, sun-downers, picnics, bush dinners; ranch days.

Onsite is also a pool where guests can enjoy swimming sessions, a tennis court (racquets and balls provided), croquet and and gym with yoga equipment, bike, rowing machine and cross trainer.

One can also relax in a ‘blind’ and let the wildlife come to you, visit nearby cultural villages, visits to the adjacent Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, to see the endangered grevy zebra, black, white rhino or take helicopter expeditions up Mt Kenya and beyond.
