\n\tTsavo East National Park is located 333 kilometers from Nairobi and is one of the largest and oldest national parks in Kenya. It covers an area of about 11,747 square kilometers.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe park contains some fantastic terrain, including rivers, lakes, tarns, glaciers and peaks with a wide variety of vegetation, including grasslands, acacia vegetation, open plains and savanna.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThis wilderness, seemingly so hostile, is nevertheless inhabited by a wide range of plains' game including zebra, several species of antelope among them lesser kudu and hartebeest, warthog and ostrich as well as elephant herds which plunder their way through bush and scrub to the permanent waters of the Athi River.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tTsavo West National Park is home to red elephants, as well as to members of the rest of the "Big 5" African animals (buffalo, African lions, leopards and rhinos).<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tOther animals include lions, hippos, cheetahs, hartebeest and buffalo. There is also a host of Kenyan birds and other animals, both large and small, to see.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tVisit attractions such as Mzima Springs to watch the hippos bathing underwater, visit the Lava flows and caves for geological interest; explore the caves or hike along the lava flow.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tAmboseli National Park is one of the classic images of East Africa, let alone Kenya, is that of a herd of elephant strolling across the plains with the snow-capped peak of Kilimanjaro in the background.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n
