\n\tDay 2: Explore Meru National Park<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong>
\n\tMeru forms part of a larger wilderness area along the Tana River, including Bisanadi and Mwingi National Reserves, Kora national park and Rahole national reserve. <\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe wetter north-western sector is hilly, with rich volcanic soils. Numerous permanent streams cross the Park, and three large rivers straddle the reserve: the Tana to the south, the Ura to the south-west and the Rojeweru to the east.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe park was made famous by the writings of Joy Adamson, most noted for her book Born Free, the true story of Elsa, the lioness, and her return into the wild. <\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t\tDepart in the Morning by road to Samburu Game Reserve located at the North rugged Semi desert region.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n\t<\/p>\n

\n\t\tSamburu Game Reserve is a wild and little visited region, well known for spectacular scenery and wildlife not found in the south. <\/span><\/span><\/span>\n\t<\/p>\n

\n\t\tThey include the Reticulated Giraffe, the rare Grevy’s Zebra with its large furry ears, the gerenuk Antelope standing on its hind legs to feed and Somali Ostriches with their distinctive blue legs. <\/span><\/span><\/span>\n\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n\tFull day in Samburu with morning and afternoon ‘Spice’ game drives. You may see Elephants, Cheetah, Leopard, Eland, Oryx, Impala, Dikdik, Waterbuck and a variety of birds. <\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThis lava plain includes a varied landscape of red dirt, thorn scrub, broken volcanic rock, dried riverbeds, steep hills and rocky outcroppings. <\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tFollowing the river’s curves, a forest of Doum Palms, Acacia and tamarind is a magical contrast of cool green. <\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tOther areas of the Reserve include the Uaso Nyiro River where crocodiles sun bath themselves on the banks. It also provides an oasis for a variety of game. <\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tDay 6: Samburu Game Reserve – Drive to Lake Nakuru National Park<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span>
\n\tAfter breakfast we drive down to the floor of the Great Rift Valley into Lake Nakuru National Park, making a brief stop at Nyahururu Thomson Falls. Arrive at lodge in time for lunch.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe afternoon is spent on another exciting game run in Lake Nakuru National Park. Besides the flamingos that the lake is famous for, there are approximate 400 other species of birds visiting the lake.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tIn addition, the wildlife to be found in the Park including the introduced Rothschild's giraffe, Reedbuck, Lion, Buffalo, Leopard, Baboon, waterbucks, warthogs, impalas, elands and the endangered black rhinos, white rhino.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Mara offers wildlife in such variety and abundance that it is difficult to believe; over 450 species of animals have been recorded here. <\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n
