\n\tDepart early in the morning for the enchanting scrub land of the Northern Frontier, a semi arid region excellent for the photographer.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tWild and rugged, Samburu is fiercely beautiful with its arid savannahs watered by the lovely Uaso Nyiro River.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tIt is also one of Kenya’s most protected areas and home to species only found north of the equator, from the reticulated giraffe to Grevy’s zebras and Beisa oryxes.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tDay 2: Explore Samburu Game Reserve<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span>
\n\tDawn breaks in golden bands as we start our day in the bush by scanning the river from our tent’s veranda with a cup of steaming coffee in hand. <\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tBefore the dew is off the grass, we’re off in pursuit of the elephants, lions, leopards, and cheetahs that thrive in the reserve’s grasslands and acacia woodlands. <\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe reserves have numerous permanent springs and a wealth of wildlife which includes leopard, hippo, elephant, lion, reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebra and crocodile in the Ewaso Nyiro River.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tOver 365 species of birds have been identified in the sanctuaries<\/span><\/span><\/span>. And so the day is spent in alternating pursuits of exploration in the bush and relaxation in our cozy camp.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tDay 3: Samburu Game Reserve<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span> – Drive to<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span> Aberdare National Park<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span>
\n\tWe travel overland south from Samburu to The Aberdare Country Club, nestled on the slopes of Mweiga Hill.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tAfter lunch and high tea, set off for the Ark tree lodge, located in the forest on mountain slopes of the Aberdare Mountains at 7,000 feet. <\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThis outstanding lodge offers high altitude game viewing, including animals that are rarely encountered elsewhere: giant forest hog, bush pig, tree hyrax, large spotted genet, and the elusive bongo.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tWildlife can be observed from different levels – and from outside where you can see, hear and smell everything and inside where you can sit with a cup of tea and stay warm and cozy. <\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tYou can put in a request to be awakened during the night if your favorite animals show up. A herd of Elephants might be just feet away and if you are lucky, a Leopard or large male Lion might put in an appearance.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tDepart the Aberdare and proceed to the Great Rift Valley. The scenic drive is via Thomson’s Falls where you stop to view the scenic waterfalls.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tGame and bird viewing drives at the Lake Nakuru national park with opportunities to view Rhino. <\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tLake Nakuru National Park offering a wide ecological diversity, from lakeshore, woodlands, grassy plains to rocky escarpments and ridges. <\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tDay 6 & 7: Discover Masai Mara Game Reserve <\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span>
\n\tThe search for great predators and perhaps even cubs continues today and tomorrow during extensive game runs. On the plains are enormous herds of grazing animals plus the elusive cheetah and leopard hiding amidst acacia boughs. <\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tDuring our stay we also have an optional opportunity to visit a village of the Masai people to witness the singing and dancing that are part of their daily lives and sacred rituals. <\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tDay 8: Masai Mara – Drive to Lake Naivasha<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span>
\n\tAfter breakfast, you will head towards the Great Rift Valley, arriving in time for Lunch in Lake Naivasha. Lake Naivasha which is one of the fresh water lake in Great Rift Valley and the second largest freshwater lake in Kenya. <\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe lake has no known outlet, usually a requirement for a freshwater lake and is home to over 450 species of birds. <\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tSpend the afternoon at leisure or have several optional activities such as nature walk, biking, bird walk along the shore of the lake and visit to Crescent Island. <\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThere also cultural dance, horse riding, rock climbing, boat trips in the lake excursions to Hell’s Gate National Park, one of the few remaining places where you can walk alongside wildlife.<\/span><\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThis morning we depart by road through the scenic Athi Plains and into the bush country of Amboseli National Park, home to the legendary Masai tribesmen and famous for huge herds of Elephant. <\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tAfter lunch enjoy an afternoon game drive in search of its popular residents like the well known predators and their opponents like the Zebra, Wildebeest, Giraffe, and Hippo with a view of Mt Kilimanjar<\/span><\/span><\/span>o.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tDay 10: Explore Amboseli National Park <\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span>
\n\tFull day is spent exploring this park. Amboseli covers lush grasslands and swampland fed by the melting snow of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest peak.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe park is considered one of the top game parks in Africa to get up close to elephants in the wild, as well as offering some of the finest photographic opportunities of wildlife flanked by the scenic Mt Kilimanjaro.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Game Park also contains huge populations of buffalos, zebras, wildebeests, giraffes, hippos and various antelope species, such as impala. <\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tAmboseli Park is also home to lions, leopards, cheetahs, rhinos, jackals, warthogs and other wildlife. The park also boasts an abundance of birds, including bee-eaters, kingfishers, pelicans, African fish eagles and falcons.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tAfter breakfast, depart via the Sheitani lava flow for Tsavo West National Park to arrive in time for lunch at our lodge or Camp.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tTsavo West National Park has elephants, crocodiles, Vervet monkeys, antelope, baboons, giraffes, hippos and lions etc. <\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe park is a marvel in terms of geophysical character and plant diversity. Mzima Springs, the source of Mombasa’s water, is located here.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThese springs are recharged daily with hundreds of millions of liters of crystal clear water by underground streams emanating from Chyulu Hills. <\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tAt Mzima, all sorts of animals gather for a drink particularly in the dry season. You may also be able to view hippo and crocodiles from the underwater glass tank.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThis park is famous for the huge herds of elephants covering in the red dust and scenic natural scenery. There is also the breathtaking Lugards Falls, Mudanda Rocks and the Aruba Dam.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tDay 13: Discover Tsavo East National Park<\/strong><\/span><\/span>
\n\tSpend the whole day exploring the park. The Tsavo National Park holds a drier and flatter landscape; even one of the largest rivers in Kenya flowing through the middle. <\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe vegetation around Tsavo East National Park is savannah grassland with thorny bushes and some swampy marshland near Voi River. <\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Athi River flanked by stately doum palms which, near the Manyani gate forms the Lugard Falls, a long stretch of rippling white water cataracts and a favorite haunt for sunbathing crocodiles. <\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tMudanda Rock which is sometimes referred to as the miniature of Ayers rock in Australia is almost 2 kilometers long it juts out of the surrounding landscape.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tLugard Falls gush through a small fissure, narrow enough for the foolhardy to leap across, before dropping to Crocodile Point below, where the river changes its name to the Galana and is named after Britain's first proconsul in East Africa, Captain Lugard.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Crocodile point where you can often find some pretty large crocs as well as plenty of other wildlife including buffalo, hippo and the highly endangered Hunter's Hartebeest. <\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThis is also a great area for within the park for birding as well.<\/span><\/span><\/span> Filled with high concentration of wildlife on the Galana River, including wide arrays of crocodiles and hippos.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Kudus, waterbucks and dik-diks are the quite common species that you will find near the river banks.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n
