\n\tA city tour shows Nairobi to be a historic and fascinating city, visiting the home of author Karen Blixen who penned Out of Africa. <\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tLuncheon at the homestead of Kenya’s oldest tea plantation hosted by the original settler’s granddaughter is another highlight. <\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tGiraffe Centre is next, including a private briefing by the resident warden about the mission to save the endangered Rothschild giraffe; the chance to hand feed them is a bonus!<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tOur adventures in the bush begin with Amboseli National Park<\/strong>. Romantically situated in the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro, Amboseli is famous for its tremendous variety of big game.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tHaving arrived at Amboseli fresh and relaxed after a flight over the scenic Athi Plains, we are ready for a morning game run. <\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tOur delightful lodge is perfectly located in the very centre of the reserve. We awaken to the sights and sounds of big game country and, if we’re lucky, to a view of Kilimanjaro often unclouded in the early morning sky.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tIn addition to elephant, antelope, zebra, wildebeest, buffalo and the rare <\/span>black rhino<\/span><\/a>, Amboseli is sought after by travelers in the know for its breathtaking scenery and easily approachable wildlife.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tJust after daybreak, we venture into the crisp morning air in search of the great herds. Our game drives are sure to reveal great wonders. <\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tAwaiting us at our next stop is a sheltered oasis, clustered around a waterhole and set in the pristine calm of its own private reserve: Sweetwaters Tented Camp. <\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tAbounding with wildlife, unfettered by the more rigorous strictures of national parks, Sweetwaters offers a charming blend of under-canvas ambience and casual luxury where we’ll enjoy two nights. <\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tOne of only four private game reserves in Kenya, it excels in the provision of privileged seclusion and private game viewing. <\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n
