Our African Spice Safari begins today as we fly to Europe

Day 2: Europe – Nairobi
Welcome to Kenya’s capital city. An awaiting African Spice Safari Director accompanies us to the venerable Fairmont the Norfolk where our rooms are ready and waiting.

Day 3: Explore Nairobi
The excitement begins today with a special presentation by a Masai Elder, followed by a Safari Briefing by our Safari Director. Next is a city tour with a stop at Kiambethu Farms where lunch is enjoyed in the family homestead, hosted by the original settler’s granddaughter.

We continue to Karen Estates and the Giraffe Centre before returning to our hotel.

Day 4 : Nairobi – Drive to Aberdare National Park (Tree Lodge Hotel)

This morning we drive north through lush tea and coffee estates to The Ark/Mountain Lodge. Nestled in the foothills between Aberdare and Mount Kenya National Park, the lodge is famous for its high perches and balconies, overlooking a salt lick and waterhole.

Here we will enjoy the finest in high-altitude game viewing. Aberdare. is home to a diverse range of woodland animals. An afternoon bush walk may bring you close to zebra, giraffe, ostrich and warthogs. In the evening, view the nocturnal activity around the waterhole and salt lick from the observation deck of your tree hotel.

Day 5: Tree Lodge – Mount Kenya Safari Club
Our destination today is the cool, crisp Kenyan highlands and the historic Mount Kenya Safari Club, set in over 100 acres of landscaped gardens. Along the way, visit the craft centers in Nanyuki, including the Spinners & Weavers, a women's self-help project.

They produce beautiful African designs on cardigans, shawls, carpets, throws, pullovers, scarves and bedcovers - all of which are for sale at very reasonable prices.

The Mount Kenya Safari Club is an exclusive resort which offers an experience of refined elegance and luxury, as well as a sense of old Hollywood in its glamorous past.

All of the amenities you would expect from a fine international establishment are here, including horseback riding, golf, croquet, a putting green, a bowling green, table tennis, swimming, a beauty salon, an animal orphanage, tennis, trout streams and more.

Fine dining, warm hospitality and superb accommodations of suites or cottages are hallmarks of our stay.

Day 6: Mount Kenya Safari Club (Visit the Sweetwaters Ol Pejeta Conservancy for the day)

Today we travel to the exotic Sweetwaters Game Sanctuary in the secluded heart of Ol Pejeta Ranch and Rhino Reserve.

Here, these magnificent beasts are given sanctuary from those who would take their lives to sell their horns. Here too, the Jane Goodall Institute operates a remarkable Chimpanzee Sanctuary where we meet the primates face to- face. In fact Sweetwaters boasts excellent game viewing with the highest ratio of game to area of any park or reserve in Kenya.
