Maduong’ (The Main House)
Ot
Maduong’house is an architectural
masterpiece combines the traditional round structure
with creative furnishing and a classical shingles roof.
Ot
Maduong’s spacious en suite bedroom can hold triple
beds and is complete with its own balcony directly facing
Mt Kenya. On a clear day, one can sip homemade mango
juice while enjoying an amazing view of the mountain
from the balcony. In the Luo traditional homestead this

Abila (The Old Man’s House)
This
two bed roomed house was the first house that Shikuku
built when he established his homestead. Built in the
traditional mud and wattle style, the house has amazingly
designed interiors which leave guests pleasantly surprised.
Abila
has a common lounge and cooking area for residents of
both rooms. Each bedroom is en suite and can hold doubles.
In Luo culture, Abila was the old man’s house
from where he ate, counseled and disciplined other family
members.

house which in Luo culture was built for the girls in
the homestead. Siwinthe has a cozy feel with comfortable
colorful furnishings.
It
also has a kitchenette from where guests can make coffee,
light meals/ snacks and serve drinks. In Siwinthe, girls

Simba (Boys
House)
On the opposite side
of the compound lies Simba which is designed in the
same way as Siwinthe. The two bedroomed Simba has shared
washrooms and a common lounge for occupants.
In
Luo culture, Simba was the young man’s house.
Upon reaching adolescence, young Luo boys, could no
longer stay in the same house with the parents or even
