Lake Victoria Fishing Day Tour from Masai Mara offers a colorful and exciting option for African Spice Safari travelers. The world's second largest fresh water lake, it's famous for its abundance of exotic bird life, the enormous Nile Perch that populate its water, and charming fishing villages.

A short 40 Minute flight from the Masai Mara takes you over the thatched roofs of Masai villages and the stately Masai themselves as they tend to their herds. You will thrill to a spectacularly panoramic view of the Kisii Highlands, one of Kenya's richest farmlands, a vast sea of shimmering greens and gold under the rays of the morning sun.

The plane touches down at a quaint Island inn (Rusinga Island) for leisurely morning of superb fishing, spectacular scenery and sumptuous breakfast. Everything possible is home grown and no artificial fertilizers or chemicals are used.

The fruit and vegetables are collected fresh each day. The Rusinga Island Lodge team takes great pride in the food served and all breads, pastries and cakes are homemade.

The specialty is fish dishes as both Tilapia and Nile perch are plentiful and make delicious eating in many different ways - whole grilled over coals, smoked or Zanzibar-style with coconut, lime and coriander, to name a few favorites.

Breakfast and lunch are usually served under sweeping fig trees and are included in the Day Trip price. You return to the Masai Mara in time for the afternoon Game Drive (1600 Hours).
