Day 2 & Day 3
Arusha
— Lake Manyara National Park. Overnight
at Lake Manyara Tree Lodge
After your delicious breakfast at
Rivertrees you will board your flight to the Lake
Manyara airstrip and will be met by your African
Spice Driver Guide and transferred to Lake Manyara
Tree Lodge. This area is a birding paradise, especially
for the waterfowl and migrants. Its lush green forests
are one of the best places to see leopards. Lions
hunt on the grassy shores of the lake, and are known
for their habit of climbing trees. Superb game viewing
is offered throughout the year! Lake Manyara Tree
Lodge with its safari tree house suites are crafted
from local timber and makuti and tucked away in
an ancient mahogany forest in close proximity to
the exquisite soda lake. Each tree house suite has
large windows to invite the lush forest inside.

Day 4 &
Day 5
Lake
Manyara — Ngorongoro Crater. Overnight at Gibbs Farm
or Tloma Lodge
After your delicious breakfast at
Lake Manyara Tree Lodge, you will transfer by road
with our Spice Driver Guide. Midway between Lake
Manyara and the Ngorongoro Crater, five kilometers
from the village of Karatu, is Gibb’s Farm.
Gibb’s Farm is an oasis of green, calm and
beauty, in a landscape that can often be parched,
dry and dusty. The lodge offers 20 twin rooms with
en-suite bathrooms set among the gardens. The main
facilities, consisting of a sitting room, reading
room, dining room (which serves fresh, home-cooked
meals), bar and gift shop, are situated in the old
farmhouse.
Coffee is grown, processed and roasted
on the farm, and a vast ten-acre fruit and organic
vegetable garden provides nearly all the fruit and
vegetables to the guests, who wake up to fresh coffee,
a multitude of flowers and breathtaking views. Even
if your stay is short, find time for a gentle walk
or tour of our gardens. You may enjoy a nice swim
or a refreshing sun downer and a short evening stroll
with your guide. On your first full day, you will
begin with a very early start - rising earlier than
everyone else as you escape camp in semi-darkness
and start winding your way down towards the crater
floor with your guide. As the first few vehicles
arrive on the Crater floor, your African Spice Safari
guide will find a lovely, secluded and shaded area
to unpack a gourmet picnic brunch.

Day
6, 7 & Day 8
Ngorongoro
Crater — Serengeti National Park. Overnight
at Nomad Serengeti Camp
This day after breakfast, you will
say your good-byes, and continue by road to the
Serengeti. The Serengeti holds the greatest and
most diverse concentration of wildlife remaining
in Africa today. This place is guaranteed to take
your breath away! Serengeti Safari Camp is semi
nomadic - it won't move whilst you're there - but
it's actually on a wide orbit, shadowing the Migration,
so you, your own private African Spice Driver guide
and his 4WD vehicle are as close to a million wildebeest
as possible. It's the base for exciting game drives
- conquering the landscapes and absorbing the sheer
hugeness of it all. Daily adventures are yours to
plan with your own guide to take you into the midst.
Whilst you can head off from dawn to dusk on your
own wandering migration expeditions, the small camp
is sociable because it's shared - with just 12 guests
staying in classic East African tented bush style.

Serengeti
National Park —
Fly Pemba Island, Zanzibar. Overnight at Fundu Lagoon
After
your adventure in the Serengeti, you will board
your flight to Pemba Island in the Indian Ocean.
Fundu Lagoon is privately owned and run with a love
for the natural environment that surrounds it; the
epitome of shabby chic - stylish, cosseting and
totally relaxed. Wooden walkways and sandy paths
lead to eighteen Makuti thatched tented rooms and
suites - all of the accommodations have breath-taking
views of the Indian Ocean. For the ultimate in lazy
relaxation, visit the spa for massage and beauty
treatments. The marine life is amazing and activities
include water skiing, windsurfing and fishing. Or
explore the mangroves by canoe; take a romantic
sunset cruise to take in the surrounding beaches
and islands.
