Day 1: Nairobi Fly to Masai Mara Game Reserve
0730: This morning after breakfast at your hotel/ residence in Nairobi we transfer to Wilson Airport for our scheduled flight to Masai Mara National Reserve.

1000 Hours: Fly to Mara Serena Airstrip located inside Masai Mara National Reserve.

1100 Hours: Upon landing, you will be met by our professional safari driver guide and proceed for a morning game drive looking out for elephant, buffalo, impala, lion, cheetah, hyena, giraffes, zebra, wildebeest among other African animals.

There is also a host of birds, both large and small, to see if you keep your eyes open and stop at every sighting.

1230 Hours: We arrive at Mara Serena Safari Lodge for lunch. Later we settle in relax and explore Mara Serena Safari Lodge. The lodge has a gym with a steam-room, sauna, male and female changing/ shower rooms, juice bar and candle-lit relaxation area.

There is also a safari Spa which offers a wide range of massages, body-brush or scrubs, facials, manicures, pedicures, reflexology, aromatherapy and specially tailored holistic spa indulgences.

1500 Hours: We enjoy a cup of tea/ coffee or hot chocolate with some homemade biscuits/ cake as we get ready for the afternoon game drive.

1530 Hours: Embark on the afternoon game-drive. Game viewing in the Masai Mara is excellent all year around thanks to the diverse population of resident game, including the Big 5 – lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino – plus popular species like zebra, giraffe, hyena, eland and gazelle.

1830 Hours: Return to Mara Serena Safari Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Mkomazi National Park Tanzania 1 Day Safari: If you want to go off the beaten track and explore 'real' Tanzania then this day excursion is perfect for you.

Mkomazi National Park offers a real wilderness away from the crowds of tourists.

The park is located 190 kilometers (118 miles) from Arusha and about a 3 hours drive from Moshi (120 km's). Mkomazi National Park is located in the northern part of Tanzania, between Moshi and Tanga.

The park finds itself in a beautiful setting with both the Pare and Usambara mountains towering above its boundaries. Depending on the weather, Mt. Kilimanjaro can be seen from the park.

The main source of water in Mkomazi comes from the Umba River in the southeast. As the park receives very little rain all year game drives along the river offer excellent wildlife sightings.

Mkomazi wildlife includes African wild dogs, black rhinos that live in a private sanctuary, oryx, gerenuk, lion, leopard, cheetah, hyena, jackal, elephant, buffalo, hartebeest, giraffe, warthog and crocodiles.

There are 450 species of bird found in the park including go-away-birds, ostriches, eagles, hoopoes, bustards, kingfishes, flamingos, cormorants, plovers and ducks.

The vegetation resembles that of a dry, desert like landscape. Due to the climate, the vegetation primarily consist of acacia-commiphora woodlands and towards the western mountains the vegetation changes to a dry land forest.

Mkomazi National Park Tanzania 1 Day Safari Itinerary

0600 Hours: Breakfast at your hotel/ residence

0700 Hours: You will be picked up from your hotel/ residence in Arusha or Moshi with parked lunch boxes and depart by road to Mkomazi National Park located approximately 190 km's from Arusha/ 120 km's from Moshi town.

1000 Hours: Upon arrival at the park, you will proceed for a game drive looking for oryx, gerenuk, lion, leopard, cheetah, hyena, jackal, elephant, buffalo, hartebeest, giraffe, warthog and crocodiles.

Mkomazi National Park shares a border with Tsavo National Park in Kenya, so game comes and goes between the parks. A visit to Nkomazi Rhino Sanctuary can be organized at an extra cost.

1300 Hours: Enjoy your picnic lunch boxes at a designated picnic site.

1400 Hours: Proceed on an afternoon game-drive. The park is a vital refuge for two highly endangered species, the charismatic black rhino and sociable African wild dog.

Both animals were successfully reintroduced in the 1990s, but black rhino are restricted to a fenced sanctuary, ensuring their safe keeping for future generation’s enjoyment and prosperity.

1630 Hours: Depart Mkomazi National Park and drive back to Moshi/ Arusha.

Mwanza Serengeti National Park Day Trip Tanzania is a full day tour/ excursion (12 hours) from Mwanza Tanzania to the famous Serengeti National Park by road.

Our  1 day trip safari from Mwanza approaches the Serengeti National Park from the western corridor.

Serengeti National Park is huge – it is broadly divided into four distinct areas – the central Seronera Valley, the Western Corridor, the Northern Lobo and Kogatende areas, and finally the Southern Plains.

Mwanza is Tanzania’s second-largest city and is set on Lake Victoria’s shore. Serengeti National Park Ndabaki Gate is about 140 kilometers northeast of Mwanza along the Mwanza – Musoma road and gives direct access to the Western Corridor.  

The drive from Ndabaka to Seronera which is central Serengeti takes about 3 hours. The western corridor of the Serengeti landscape is more wooded and it is common to see giraffe, elephants, zebra, impala, topi, ostrich, hipo, waterbuck and many smaller animals. 

Then we drive to the central Serengeti which is a large plain and full to tall grass. Here we find the big cats such as lion, leopards and cheetah.

If the time is right, the wildebeest migration is incredible to see. The Serengeti is the mother of all safari parks and the most celebrated wildlife reserve in the world.

Full Day Serengeti National Park Day Tour from Mwanza
0500 Hours: Our full day Serengeti day tour departs Mwanza early in the morning with breakfast box and lunch/ picnic box. We drive to Serengeti/ Ndabaka gate

0700 Hours: Arrive at Serengeti National Park Ndabaka Gate. Enjoy your breakfast picnic box at the gate followed by check-in the park and after registration proceed on a game drive.

0800 Hours: Proceed on your game-run from western corridor (Ndabaka) to Seronera which is central Serengeti takes about 3 hours.

The western corridor of the Serengeti landscape is more wooded and it is common to see giraffe, elephants, zebra, impala, topi, ostrich, hippo, waterbuck and many smaller animals.

Drive along the Grumeti River, finding crocodiles hunt zebras and herbivores at the water’s edge. Watch for the pods of hippos that ‘yawn’ at the surface of the river, and look for signs of large cats and predators.

1100 Hours: We enjoy an extensive game drive en-route to the Central Serengeti which is a large plain and full to tall grass.

Here we find the big cats such as lion, leopards and cheetah.  If the time is right, the wildebeest migration is incredible to see.

1300 Hours: Stop at picnic area for lunch.

1400 Hours: After lunch start your game drive in Central Serengeti slowly making our way back through the western corridor.

Serengeti is home to cheetah, black rhino, wild dogs, and elephants that live within the reserve and the 'Big Five' are common here.

1700 Hours: We exit Serengeti National Park Ndabaka Gate and head back to Mwanza.

1900 Hours: Arrive in Mwanza and transfer you to your hotel/ residence.

Breakfast Horseback Trail Rides: starts 0800 Hours or 0900 Hours. It is a one hour horse riding safari in the forest and returns back for breakfast. A true colonial, Art Deco silverware breakfast set up on the verandah in the private home.

Breakfast includes traditional Danish pancakes, eggs Benedict – a traditional American brunch, Greek Yogurt with Honey and Fruit in the Karen Blixen/ 1910 house at 0930 Hours or 1030 Hours.

Sundowner Horseback Trail Rides: include an hour of horse riding and champagne or gin & tonic and/ or beer/ sodas around the big Kapok tree at our yard on wooden benches, safari chairs with Shuka’s to wrap yourself in as night falls.

Picnic Horseback Rides: require a minimum of 3 guests for a departure. The horse back tour departs at 0930 hours and travels beyond the forest to Kenya’s Kibiko plains over looking Rift Valley. 

Horse-riders enjoy views of Tanzania the Masai’s holy mountain, ‘Ol Doniyo Lengai.’ The ride finishes at picnic site on the escarpment at about 1200 Hours.

Here you enjoy homemade food with cold drinks. The food includes famous Mozambican/ Portuguese Rissois de Camerao (prawn), crispy Beef Samosas, spicy Beef Sausages, Honey roasted chicken wings, Thai vegetable dim sum, baguette and a small selection of Browns cheese.

Mwanza City Day Trip Saanane Island National Park is a half day tour to Tanzania's smallest national park (2 square km's) located on an island in Lake Victoria, Southwest of Mwanza city centre.

The Island is accessed by a regular short boat ride for about 5 minutes from Park Offices, on the mainland (next to Hotel Tilapia). Park Offices are easily accessed about 15 minute’s short walk from the City Centre.
