Larsens Camp Samburu 2 Days 1 Night Flying Safari Package Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi Fly to Samburu Game Reserve
0700 Hours: After breakfast at your hotel in Nairobi, we transfer to Wilson Airport Nairobi for your scheduled flight to the Samburu National Reserve.

0830 Hours: Depart on a scheduled flight to the Samburu National Reserve. Wild and rugged, Samburu is fiercely beautiful with its arid savannahs watered by the lovely Uaso Nyiro River.

0955 Hours: Arrive in Samburu National Reserve at an airstrip followed by a transfer to you to your lodge/ camp with a short safari game drive en-route.

1230 Hours: Check-in at the hotel and lunch follows. Later relax and explore the camps/ lodge grounds. 

1500 Hours: Enjoy a cup of tea, coffee or hot chocolate before the afternoon safari drive. 

1530 Hours: Depart for the afternoon game drive. Animals found in Samburu, namely: cheetahs, lions, leopards, impalas, buffalo, hippos, and dik-diks, as well as the native gerenuk, Grevy's zebra, reticulated giraffe and Beisa Oryx.

You are guaranteed to see most animals during the dry season as they converge at the Usaso Nyiro River, their main source of water during the long dry weather. Elephants are also spotted during this time, and you can watch the Nile crocodiles swim in the river.

1830 Hours: Return back to your camp/ lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2 : Samburu Game Reserve – Fly to Nairobi City
0630 Hours: Depart for an early morning game drive. Game viewing includes elephants, hippos, lions, leopards and cheetahs.

0930 Hours: You can opt to visit a Samburu Village to enjoy their rich culture and buy beautiful ornaments while on safari or relax at the lodge.

1045 Hours: Transfer to the airstrip for your scheduled flight to Nairobi

1120 Hours: Your flight from Samburu to Nairobi departs.

1305 Hours: Arrive in Nairobi and transfer to your residence/ Hotel.

Larsens Camp Samburu National Reserve is located in Kenya's famous Samburu National Reserve some 350 km’s from Nairobi and about an hour’s flight from Nairobi.

The camp has 20 luxury guest tents, sleeping 40 guests, and is set along the bank of the Uaso Nyiro River which flows through the reserve.

Each tent stands on a plinth of natural stone and all have a private balcony, 1 King-size or 2 Twin beds, electricity and en-suite private bathrooms with flushing toilets and constant hot water.

The Camp has a dining tent open on 3 sides and facing the river. Breakfast is served on the lawn and cooked in front of you on a barbecue, while lunch and dinner may be served outside on a deck by the river or in the camp’s dining tent.

Sundowners are served every evening by the camp fire or on the tree deck. Guests can have their pick of cocktails, fine wines, sparkling wines and a variety of beers and soft drinks served at the Larsens Bar.

Facilities at Larsens Camp include a swimming pool, hot tub and pleasant river front deck on which to relax. In the evenings guests meet at the camp fire to share the day’s adventures. A massage service is also available.

Game drives in Samburu are particularly rewarding as are the Samburu cultural tours, bird watching, sundowners and bush picnics/ breakfasts/ lunches and dinners.

Day 1: Nairobi – Fly to Masai Mara Game Reserve
0800 Hours: This morning after breakfast at your hotel/ residence, we transfer to Wilson airport for your scheduled flight to the Masai Mara Game Reserve.

1000 Hours:  Flight departs for the Masai Mara Game Reserve (50 minutes)

1100 Hours: Arrive in the Masai Mara Serena airstrip and proceed on a gamedrive en-route to Mara Serena Safari Lodge.

1230 Hours: Check-in at Mara Serena Safari Lodge and lunch follows.

1530 Hours: We enjoy a cup of tea, coffee or hot choclate before departing for the afternoon game-drive. 

The Masai Mara is Kenya's finest and most outstanding wildlife sanctuary where gentle rolling grassland ensures animals are never out of sight. The reserve is home to most of the popular safari animals, but the black rhino and cheetah populations are dangerously low.

Wildebeest is the dominant animal, followed by Thomson Gazelles and zebras. You will also see a lot of giraffes, hyenas and ostrich. The best time to go there may be between July and October when enormous hordes of wildebeest, gazelles and zebras are migrating in from Serengeti in Tanzania.

1830 Hours: Return back to Mara Serena Safari Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Saadani National Park Day Trip Dar es Salaam Safari is a wildlife day excursion to Saadani – the closest reserve to Dar es Salaam (302 km's away). This day tour offers an irresistible combination of beach and wildlife viewing.

Saadani National Park is located almost directly opposite Zanzibar Stone Town (42 km's away). Flights from Zanzibar to Saadani take just 15 minutes.

Saadani National Park is truly unique because it’s right on the Indian Ocean. The beautiful white sand beaches are stunning but you’re more likely to see lions or elephant on the beach than sunbathers.

A wide range of grazing animals are commonly seen on game drives and walks through Saadani National Park. These include giraffe, buffalo, warthog, waterbuck, reedbuck, hartebeest, wildebeest, greater kudu, eland, sable, baboon, monkey and elephant amongst others.

Saadani National Park Day Trip Dar es Salaam Safari Itinerary

0500 Hours: After breakfast at your Dar es salaam hotel/ residence, our professional safari driver guide will pick you up and drive north to Saadani National Park via Bagamoyo. The park is located approximately 4-5 hours away. 

Along the way you will many Swahili villages, historical ruins, Bagamoyo town, the Wami River as well as the Zaraninge Forest.

0930 Hours: We arrival at Saadani National Park for game drive. Resident animals include giraffe, buffalo, elephant, lion, leopard, sable antelope, eland, hartebeest, wildebeest, zebra, waterbuck and reedbuck.

Other animals that you are likely to see include greater kudu, warthog, hyena, mongoose, civet, serval, caracal, baboon, black and white colobus, crocodile, hippo, three species of duiker as well as a great variety of birdlife.

There’s a good chance of spotting hippo, crocodile and a selection of marine and riverine birds, including the mangrove kingfisher and lesser flamingo along the Wami River. The beach here is one of the last major green turtle breeding sites on mainland Tanzania.

1300 Hours: We enjoy a picnic lunch on the beach with its white sand and sparkling clear water.

1400 Hours: After lunch proceed for the afternoon game drive or choose to take a boat tour in the Wami River which drains into the Indian Ocean. Its waters and swamplands are home to a large population of hippo, crocodile and water birds.

You can also take a guided walking tour, bird watching tour or choose to Sun bath on the Saadani beach or visit the Saadani fishing village where you get to interact with the locals.

1500 Hours: Later we depart the park and drive back to Dar es Salaam.

1930 Hours: Arrive in Dar-es-salaam and drop you at your hotel/ residence.
