Shepherds Huts Nanyuki has handcrafted huts inspired by traditional mobile homes in Somerset in the United Kingdom. The huts are located in Nanyuki opposite Nanyuki Airstrip. Nairobi is about 203 kilometers from the huts and it takes about 4 hours drive.

There are 4 cosy huts furnished with beautiful fittings and 1 en-suite luxury tent. The hut can accommodate up to 3 guests while the tent can also accommodate groups. The bathrooms are separated from the huts and is situated outside while the tent is attached with outdoor bathroom

Each hut features tea/ coffee making facilities, toaster, fridge, a double and a single bed and verandah with stunning views of Mt Kenya. There is a spacious campsite where guests can pitch their own tents.

Shepherds Huts Nanyuki has limited cooking facilities hence guests are advised to come prepared to lunch at the café and dine at one of the restaurants nearby.

The lawns outside offers the perfect spot for some outdoor cooking(barbecue) or marshmallow toasting and also a cosy venue for star gazing under the magnificent night sky.

Mogwooni Homestead Laikipia

Mogwooni Homestead Laikipia is a holiday home located in the beautiful 30,000 acre Mogwooni private cattle ranch in the Laikipia plateau. The home is a Thai influenced Colonial house, which is positioned with views of Mt Kenya, the Loldaiga hills and the abundant riverine trees, which flank the Nanyuki River.

The homestead sleeps maximum of 8 and comes fully catered. All guestrooms are bright and airy to ensure all the guests are comfortable.

The cottage nestles within green lawns and sits a short walk from the swimming pool where guests can relax and enjoy the myriad bird life and striking views of trees and bush and peaceful sound of the river running nearby.

There are private courtyards where at night guests may lie and look up at the stars and moon surrounded by burning candles and listen to the silence of the African night. Here guests can enjoy the sounds of the African night including Hyena and Scops owls.

Tapendoi Farm Guest House

Tapendoi Farm Guest House is situated at the border of Lolldaiga Ranch, 25 minutes from Nanyuki, Laikipia. With no fence between the farm and the conservation area, there is a spectacular view over the Lolldaiga Hills Wildlife Conservancy.

The Nanyuki Airstrip is 35 minutes drive away. There are 5 bedrooms in the main house and 2 en-suite tents which can comfortably accommodate 10 guests; however it can sleep up to 16 all in beds.

There are also 2 cots and 2 travel cots. The main house has 3 bathrooms hence some bedrooms share bathrooms.

The 2 luxury permanent safari tents are set in the garden just a short walk from the main house. One tent is twin and the other is double.

There are enough space in the tents to fit cots and single beds for children. The tents have private verandas which provide a perfect place for yoga and the bathrooms are en-suite with hot showers and double sinks.

Tapendoi Farm Guest House is encircled by a huge wooden floored veranda, whose elegant French doors open onto a well furnished open plan living/dining with a fire place, reception room and well equipped kitchen.

There is an outdoor swimming pool where guests can take a deep and has a childproof fence. In the evening guests can enjoy sundowner by the fire on the veranda and listen to the sounds of the African night.

Kichachu Camp Ragati Conservancy

Kichachu Camp Ragati Conservancy is a small traditional camp located within the 5,000 hectares Ragati Conservancy on the Southern slopes of Mt. Kenya. The Conservancy lies between 2,200m and 3,000m and joins onto the Mt Kenya National Park; a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The camp is nestled in an open glade and right on the river and has 4 canvas tents that can comfortably accommodate 8 guests. Each tent is equipped with comfortable camp beds with mattresses.

There is a comfortable mess tent used as the communal area and the kitchen is an open fire. Enough cooking equipment and crockery/cutlery for up to 8 guests is provided. Guests prepare their own meals and hence expected to bring their own food.

Ndongoro Log Cabin Ragati Conservancy is located within the 5,000 hectares Ragati Conservancy on the Southern slopes of Mt. Kenya. Stables Ol Pejeta Conservancy is located within the 110,000-acre Ol Pejeta Conservancy, on the Laikipia Plains. The stables are 17 kilometers from Nanyuki Town and 217 kilometers from Nairobi.

The stables were originally built to house the horses of the previous owner of Ol Pejeta – Adnan Khashoggi. The stables were later converted to a research center and then recently changed to budget accommodation.

There are 14 guestrooms and several round thatched houses. The guestrooms are spacious and have mosquito net, clothes hangar, power socket, chair and laundry basket.

Bathrooms with hot showers are shared in the Stables Ol Pejeta Conservancy. There is a restaurant that serves meals strictly at specified times. The accommodation runs on generator power only, hence guests are requested to bring their torches.

In the evening guests can enjoy their meals around the campfire as they are unwinding and catching up with fellow travelers. Guests can enjoy horse riding, game drives and even be part of the volunteer program.

Old House Nanyuki

Old House Nanyuki is situated on a 20 acre in Nanyuki, 0.9 kilometers from the Equator. The Nanyuki River is in close proximity to the house. Nairobi is about 194 kilometers from the house and it takes about 3.5 hours drive.

The house has 38 en-suite guestrooms, each tastefully fitted with telephone, satellite TV, balcony and bathroom with showers. There is a campsite where guests can pitch their tents and sleep in the outdoors.

Timau River Lodge is located higher up in the foothills toward Mt. Kenya about 20 km north of Nanyuki Town and a km from Timau Town.

The lodge is only a km from the Nanyuki-Samburu road and is surrounded by 800 acres of cider forest. The lodge is also right in the middle of Northern and Laikipia plains, 20 km from the Lewa Downs Conservancy.

Mt Kenya Sirimon route gate is 9 km away while Sweetwaters (Ol Pajeta) is 44 km; Meru National Park is 130 km, while Solio ranch famous for Rhino's is 70 km away.

The lodge offers authentic log cabins with a fireplace. There are 13 cottages that can accommodate 20 guests, 7 budget bandas each with two beds and the main house that accommodate 20 guests.

There is a campsite with tents and bedding that can accommodate a total of 80 guests. The thatched cottages vary in sizes and the campsite is well equipped with a large covered cooking area.

Accommodation is on self catering basis and guests can use the shared kitchen.

For the guests who don’t prefer self catering, they can make use of the onsite restaurant that is perched up in a forest canopy and specializes in Indian cuisine including Indian curries and vegetarian meals.

The meals have been freshly prepared using local produce hence maintaining that authentic taste. There is a well stocked bar with fireplace and pool table, an ideal place to relax and unwind.

The bar serves a variety of beers, spirits and wines. Timau River Lodge is at 2240 meters in altitude, so the evenings can be particularly cool, so you definitely need to have warm clothing.

River Timau Lodge is in an idyllic setting with a whole range of animals roaming free throughout – Peacocks, Ducks, Geese, Tortoises, and Guinea Fowls etc.

The Campsite is located amongst trees at the top of a very pretty waterfall, where geese and ducks wander around. The lodge is also close to Mount Kenya so guests are able to enjoy good views.

Activities in the lodge include camel treks, cultural visits, nature walks, bird watching, trout fishing, bird watching and cycling.

Guests can also enjoy visits to Ol Pejeta conservancy, Mau Mau Caves, tree planting projects, walks to Timau Forest and trekking to mount. Kenya.
