Keekorok lodge Masai Mara located on an 80 acre site in the southern end of Masai Mara Reserve, approximately 280 km's from Nairobi. 

The lodge sits in the direct path of the annual migration and was the first lodge to be built in the Mara. Keekorok Airstrip is only a 10-minute drive away.

Keekorok Lodge has 101 guest rooms, all with en suite facilities and with private balconies. There are Standard Rooms, Chalets, an Executive Suite and a three-bedroom Presidential Suite.

The tastefully-furnished rooms are either within single-storey blocks or are individual bungalows.

The restaurant opens onto a verandah and guests can eat inside or out and serves a variety of traditional African, Asian and Western food. Bush dinners are set on the banks of the Mara river.

There are 3 bars; the pool bar, Hippo bar and Lounge bar where guests can are served with fine collection of whiskies and cigars along with exquisite freshly ground Kenyan coffee.

Karen Blixen Camp Masai Mara is an eco-friendly luxury camp situated along the banks of the Mara River on the north-western border of the famed Masai Mara National Reserve in the pristine Mara North Conservancy. Shikar Airstrip is about 40 minutes drive to the Camp.

Maasai Trails Jans Camp is based in the Loita Hills, on the western edge of the Great Rift Valley just north of the Tanzanian border.  The camp is set on a ridge facing the East and looking over the rolling hills of the Loita Naimina Enkyio forest. Nairobi is 260 kilometers – a 6 hour drive away.

The camp has different types of accommodation comprising of fusion huts and Tents. The 3 fusion huts is a mixture of traditional construction and modern finishing.

Each hut is fitted with toilets and hot and cold running water shower, solar powered lights and can accommodate 2 guests. This side of the camp includes a large mess with library and a separate kitchen.

2 Days 1 Night Materuni Village Cultural Tourism Moshi Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Arusha – Drive to Materuni Village
0800 Hours: Our 2 days 1 night Materuni village cultural tourism Moshi tour begins from Arusha, Moshi, Marangu or Kilimanjaro International Airport with a pick you up and travel to Materuni village.

0900 Hours: Once at the village you will be guided by a local knowledgeable guide and you begin the tour with a visit to Materuni waterfalls, located  a 40 minute walk away.

Along the way you will learn about village economy, agricultural and tribal cultural life of the local Chagga people. At the waterfalls, you will see enjoy the views and also get a chance to swim at the bottom of the waterfall. (Remember to bring your swimwear).

1300 Hours: Later you will return to Materuni village, where you will have a traditional Chagga lunch. You also will have the opportunity to taste some local banana beer!

1400 Hours: The afternoon begins with a coffee experience. Here you learn how the coffee is cultivated, dried, roasted and further processed. You will be invited to help with the grinding of the coffee.

The grinding of the coffee is always accompanied by traditional songs and dances – a fun way to immerse yourself in the local culture. Last, but not least, you will have the chance to taste the coffee you made.

After, your guide will take you on a short walk to the top of the village where there is a fantastic spot to enjoy the sunset with a view of Mount Kilimanjaro.

Later in the evening, you are invited to cook a traditional chagga dish together with Mama Agnes for dinner. After dinner, you will have time to relax.

Your overnight accommodation is in a comfortable tent at Mama Agnes’s camp site. While falling asleep you will have happy memories of the day in the middle of  the peaceful and natural surroundings of the camp.

Day 2: Materuni Village – Drive to Arusha
0800 Hours: The following morning, you will be awakened by the smell of freshly prepared coffee. After breakfast, you will have the opportunity to take a short walk to visit a primary school.

Later in the village you will say goodbye to your hosts as you enjoy farewell celebration songs from the Materuni Traditional Dance Group before returning to Arusha, Moshi, Marangu or Kilimanjaro International Airport.
