Neem House Malindi Town

Neem House Malindi Town is a coastal holiday home situated in the coastal town of Malindi, about 5 kilometers from the Malindi Airport.

The holiday home is about 120 Kilometers north of Mombasa. The house was designed and built in traditional Moorish style by legendary white hunter and safari guide Frank ‘Bunny’ Allen.

The spacious ground floor living rooms have a lovely selection of traditional teakwood furniture, and the 3.6 meter dining room table comfortably seats twelve.

Large exterior windows are enclosed with ornate wrought iron and interior 'windows' are fitted with cane blinds or teak shutters and this creates a very open and cool living space.

The floors are tiled with cool Galana stone, sourced from the Galana river, north of Malindi. There are 4 bedrooms, 3 are en suite and can accommodate 12 guests.

The bedrooms have overhead ceiling fans, verandah and large walk in mosquito nets. The master bedroom has a large veranda with private seating area and 3 single beds.

2 bedrooms can be converted to twins. The fourth bedroom features six single beds and is ideal as a dormitory for older children.

This room is situated on the roof, in a canopy of numerous Neem and fig trees, and features a traditional Makuti roof and waist high perimeter walls.

All rooms are large, spacious and feature Arabesque archways and antique carved doors from Lamu.

Neem House Malindi Town has a well equipped kitchen where the cook prepares classic Swahili dishes, refreshing salads and freshly baked bread.

The meals are freshly prepared and locally sourced. There is a spacious courtyard with beautiful views of the garden where guests can relax and unwind.

This also offers ideal venue for alfresco dining and barbequing. There is also a traditional flat roof is over 100sq meters and sits just above the tree tops.

The views from the roof are breathtaking and this is an ideal place for sunrise, sundowners and star gazing. There are teak loungers and large traditional day beds around the pool and on the verandas.
