On this trip, you will hike on the Marangu Route with one night at Mandara Hut and towards Horombo Hut before returning to Mandara for lunch and then hiking back.
This trekking is done inside Tanzania National Park and require the services of a certified Kilimanjaro guide, and the Marangu route is the only route where short treks are allowed. As an overnight hike you will stay at the park huts.

Day 1: Marangu Gate (1850 Meters/ 6000 Feet) – Mandara Hut (2700 Meters/ 9,000 Feet)
0830 Hours: After breakfast and briefing we depart Moshi/ Arusha town and drive for an hour to Marangu Gate (Kilimanjaro National Park Gate).
Once at the gate we complete the required paperwork and after registering, we commence the climb into the incredible Marangu forest, with its thick moss, lichens and endless display of abundant plant life.
The route will take us through the rainforest to Mandara Hut (9000 feet) we will have an overnight here. Walk through the rainforest to the Mandara encampment.
A side trip to Maundi Crater is a good way to see the surroundings including Northern Tanzania and Kenya. In the rainforest, look for towering Eucalyptus trees, bird life, and Colobus monkeys.
The hiking distance we cover is about 8 Kilometers/ 5 miles and will take about 3 to 4 hours
Overnight at Mandara Hut

Day 2: Mandara Hut (2700 Meters/ 9,000 Feet) – Horombo Huts (3700 Meters/ 12,000 Feet)
After breakfast we head out on our next day’s trek towards Horombo Huts at 12000 Feet on a route that will take about 5 to 6 hours. The climb will take us through the lower heathland with small shrubs being the main vegetation.
At our lunch stop about half way up. Views of Mawenzi and the summit of Kibo are amazing. Look for giant lobelias and grounsels. You may begin to feel the effects of the altitude.
We will arrive at Horombo Hut around 1500 Hours with Kibo summit already in view. We will spend an overnight at the Horombo Hut.
The hiking distance we cover is about 12 Kilometers/ 8 miles and will take about 5 to 6 hours

Day 3: Horombo Huts (3700 Meters/ 12,000 Feet) – Marangu Gate (1850 Meters/ 6000 Feet)
After breakfast and getting magnificent views of the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro in the morning sunrise, we will start to retrace our steps, heading back down to Mandara Huts for lunch.
Continue descending through lush forest path to the National Park gate at Marangu. At lower elevations, it can be wet and muddy. Gaiters and trekking poles will help. Shorts and t-shirts will probably be plenty to wear (keep rain gear and warmer clothing handy).
A vehicle will meet you at Marangu village to drive you back to your hotel in Moshi/ Arusha (about 1 hour).
The hiking distance we cover is about 20 Kilometers/ 13 miles and will take about 4-5 hours

Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro Hike 2 Days 1 Night; On this trip, you will hike on the Marangu route and spend one night at Mandara hut. The following day you will hike towards Horombo hut before returning to Mandara hut for lunch and then hiking back.
You will NOT reach the summit. Climbing or trekking Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania East Africa is truly a trip of your lifetime.
For some reason not everyone is looks forward to trek to the top of Kilimanjaro famously known as Uhuru Peak which stands at 5895 meters above the sea level. Some people just wanted to get a chance to experience this majestic mountain without reaching Uhuru Peak.
In these cases, doing a short trek on Mount Kilimanjaro is a great option, giving you the chance to do a 1 day, 2 day, 3 day or 4 day of trekking. Along with this short treks African Spice Safaris advices you to combine this trek with a short safari to the northern part of Tanzania if you have the time.
You can safari to any of the following parks, Arusha National Park, Tarangire National Park, Lake Manyara National Park, Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti National Park.
Other options include, the cultural tours, Lake Natron, Lake Eyasi or walking safaris available in to the northern circuit. We have chosen Marangu route for you due to the fact is regarded as the easiest route up Mt Kilimanjaro.
However you can decide to use other routes but we will advice that some of the routes at certain points do not have are return route e.g Machame.

Day 1: Hike From Marangu Gate (1850 Meters/ 6000 Feet) to Mandara Hut (2700 Meters/ 9,000 Feet)

Day 2: Hike from Mandara Hut (2700 Meters/ 9,000 Feet) to (3,700 Meters/ 12,100 Feet)
After breakfast we head out on our next day’s trek towards Horombo Huts encampment on a route that will take about 3 to 4 hours up. The climb will take us through the lower heathland with small shrubs being the main vegetation. Views of Mawenzi and the summit of Kibo are amazing.
Look for giant lobelias and grounsels. After getting magnificent views of the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro in the morning sunrise, we will start to retrace our steps (2+ hours down), heading back down to Mandara Huts for lunch.
After lunch proceed down to Marangu Gate and back to our hotel in Moshi for hot shower, dinner and overnight. The walk covers about 11 km. We can transfer you to Arusha upon request.

Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro 1 Day Hike is a popular foot Safari to climb Mount Kilimanjaro for those who do not wish to climb to the top and yet want to experience the magic of the Mountain.
Our Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro 1 Day Hike uses Marangu Route which is the most popular, least difficult and the shortest way to Uhuru Peak. This route is also called the Tourist Route or the Coca Cola Route.
70% of all climbers choose this route, because most of the route consists of easy hiking. This hike to the first hut will allow you to have a feel of the mountain for one day and the hike through the rain forest will be breathtaking.
On a clear day you will be in a position to see and hear birds singing in the bushes, monkeys jumping from tree to tree and the breathtaking landscape and vegetation.
One advantage of this day trip is that you will not be required to have any special Mountain climbing gears. All that you need for this trek is comfortable clothing, comfortable walking shoes and a rain coat in case it rains on your way up.
You could choose to walk 3 to 5 hours or a full day climb to Machame camp – 2980 meters. Our driver pick you from your hotel in Arusha, Kilimanjaro Airport or Moshi after breakfast and drive you to the village of Marangu.
Your foot safari will start at the Machame gate (1,980 meters), after signing in at the Park Office. Walk through the rainforest to the Mandara encampment.
The climb is a good way to see the surroundings areas including Northern Tanzania and Kenya. In the rainforest, look for towering Eucalyptus trees, bird life, and Colobus monkeys.
After lunch, hike back to park gate and drive back to Moshi or Arusha.

0800 Hours: You will be picked from your hotel and drive to Marangu where the gate for Mt. Kilimanjaro National park is (1970 meter).
0900 Hours: At the gate you will meet with our well experienced guide who will give you brief information about the hike. All hikers are requested to sign in at the Park office and make their final preparations for the climb.
You will be given a healthy and balanced lunch box that will be taken upon arrival at Mandara Hut. At the gate you will meet with our well experienced guide who will give you brief information about the hike.
Make sure that you have all your day pack items (containing at least drinking water, your lunch pack and extra clothing) with you, as the porters ascend a lot quicker than the hikers.
You will walk for about 3-4 hours to the first hut (Mandara hut) and you will arrive there in the afternoon. You now leave the Park gate and ascend on a cleared ridge trail through the rain forest.
The forest, suffused with mist and dripping with beards of moss, is also where most of Kilimanjaro animals are found. A well experienced English speaking guide will give you information about the history, vegetation and animals of Mt. Kilimanjaro.
1300 Hours: Lunch will be served when you reach the hut. From the hut you have a great view over Moshi district.
1400 Hours: After your lunch your guide will give you a short walk to Maundi crater before walking down to Marangu gate.
This side trip to Maundi Crater is a good way to see the surroundings including Northern Tanzania and Kenya. In the rainforest, look for towering Eucalyptus trees, bird life, and Colobus monkeys.
Later you will walk down to Marangu gate taking about 2 hours. You will walk slowly as you enjoy the scenery and look for anything that you might have missed on your way up.
1600 Hours: At Marangu National Park you will meet with transport from the hotel ready to take you back to the lodge.
Between 1730 Hours to 1800 Hours: Return back to your hotel

Day 1: Nairobi Arrival
Arrival at Nairobi's Jomo Kenyatta Airport, met and greeted in our traditional style by our uniformed African Spice Safaris representatives, transfer to your accommodation in the city.

Day 2: Nairobi – Drive to Crescent Island Lake Naivasha
After breakfast, a safari briefing is conducted by an African Spice Safari Director. By 0830 Hours, we leave Nairobi via the Nakuru road to the Rift valley.
We arrive at the Lake Naivasha Country Club, our base for 3 days, in time for lunch. Lake Naivasha Country Club is located in The Great Rift valley which is 100 km's from Nairobi.
The hotel offers a wonderful mix of tranquility in serene surrounding and a varied number of sporting activities both for energetic and more laid back.
Lake Naivasha is just over an hour's drive from Nairobi, and is a haven for bird watchers, nature lovers, artists and a peaceful scenic retreat. In the afternoon we enjoy our first game viewing walk at the privately owned Crescent Island conservancy.
Up front this is not a man-made zoo, it is a peninsula on the eastern side of Lake Naivasha. The terrain is flat, making it easy for students of all abilities to enjoy themselves.
There is a lot of easy to see game e.g. giraffes, waterbucks, elands, wildebeests, zebras and impalas. It is also a heaven for birds with +200 species recorded.
The lake has a lot of hippos, which you can easily spot from the island which is a peninsula on the Eastern shore of Lake Naivasha. We return to the Lake Naivasha Country Club in time for afternoon tea.

Day 3: Lake Naivasha Visit Hell's Gate National Park
We wake up for breakfast with the sun giving a wonderful effect over the Lake. An early morning here should not be missed by anyone with an eye for birds since the lake boasts a wide variety of water and woodland birds.
After breakfast we do a short transfer to the Hells Gate National Park. This is a unique Park where walking is done in the middle of wildlife. giraffes, zebras, warthogs and many types of gazelles are found here.
The first part of this walk is done in typical flat African savannah in a volcanic area with huge rock boundaries. There are camphor and acacia trees all over and this is where to look for the giraffe as they mainly feed on them.
A picnic lunch provided by the hotel will be at the Rangers post. The second part of the walk is done in the Hell's Gate Gorge by descending into a steep canyon with running water from geysers and wild vegetation.
The climax of the day is in walking in the side Gorge where the rocks have split to leave only a walking path. We climb back to the rangers post for the transfer back to the Lake Naivasha Country Club.

Day 4: Lake Naivasha Visit Crater Lake Game Sanctuary
An early rising will ensure that one gets another magical display of the various birds. After breakfast we do a transfer by road to the nearby Crater Lake Game Sanctuary.
Crater Lake Game Sanctuary is great fun to explore on foot with a local guide. This area is alive with hundreds of species of birds and many mammals, large and small.
While walking through the conservancy you can spot gazelle, giraffe, zebra, eland, baboon and black and white colobus monkeys – just to name a few.
You can also take the short walk to the rim of the beautiful volcanic crater with views down to the emerald-green lake in the crater. Depending on the water levels of other Rift Valley lakes, there are sometimes large populations of flamingos on the lake.

Day 5, Day 6 & Day 7: Drive to the Famous Masai Mara National Reserve
We now take a break from walking to put all our attention to watching wildlife. To see the best of Kenyan wildlife, Masai Mara is the place to be.
Masai Mara is Africa`s Greatest Wildlife Reserve, situated in Kenya is without a doubt Africa’s most famous safari destination. The Mara is the Africa of our reveries – a place where nature’s drama unfolds on a legendary natural stage.
The reserve offers the finest game viewing in Kenya – even better from a hot-air balloon – in a stunningly beautiful setting of gently rolling grasslands and acacia trees.
We also visit a Masai village, taking in the culture of this proud people who have long shared these lands with their animal neighbors.
Later, we sip cocktails as the sun sets gently over the Great Rift Valley. The search for great predators and perhaps even cubs continues today and tomorrow during extensive game runs.
On the plains are enormous herds of grazing animals plus the elusive cheetah and leopard hiding amidst acacia boughs.

Day 8: Masai Mara – Kiambethu Tea Farm – Nairobi – Depart
Depart Masai Mara in the morning for Nairobi. Lunch will be served at Kiambethu farm, a lush and lovely tea estate in the Limuru Highlands hosted by Fiona Vernon, granddaughter of the original settler.
Kiambethu still produces tea leaves of the same variety that her grandfather grew when he was the first to plant tea in Kenya almost one hundred years ago.
Situated at 7200 feet in a truly magnificent garden with views of the spectacular Mount Kilimanjaro and the Ngong hills, Kiambethu is a farmhouse to four generations of the first family to plant and make tea in Kenya.
Students are served with a pre-lunch drink as the process of making tea is formally explained followed by an opportunity to tea fields.
After a sumptuous lunch, a walk in the virgin forest to see Colobus monkeys and to learn about the flora and fauna follows. A cup of tea/ coffee is served upon return at the house.
Transfer to Nairobi for the evening flight out.

Day 1: Nairobi – Masai Mara Game Reserve
Our 3 Days Masai Mara Students Educational Safari departs from Nairobi in the morning after breakfast. After a short briefing, your safari adventure will start immediately you board the safari vehicle.
You will drive overland to the floor of the Great Rift Valley and the iconic savannah wilderness alive with Masai people and wildlife living together to the famous Masai Mara Game Reserve.
Lunch at our lodge/ camp and relax followed by an evening game-drive. Masai Mara Game Reserve is characterized with vast acacia-dotted plains cut by ox-bow lakes, spectacular escarpments where move ‘Out of Africa’ was acted.
This enormous reserve is actually part of the vast Serengeti plains famously known for its spectacular great wildebeest’s migration and is home of the Big Five: Lion, Elephant, Leopard, Buffalo and Rhino.
The Mara Game Reserve–one of the greatest wildernesses of the world. Large mammals are varied, and easy to see. Residents among the Park's are: Masai Giraffe, Buffalo, Eland and thousand of plain game including Impala, Zebra, Topi, both Thomson's and grants Gazelles.
The animals of the Masai Mara are the star of the show, providing drama and intrigue against a backdrop of spectacular scenery.
You might notice a Masai Moran standing on one foot herding hundreds of cow or shepherding goats and sheep holding a single stick or a spear, that’s their way of living.

Day 2: Discover Masai Mara Game Reserve
Our full day in the Masai Mara Game Reserve will be spared for the search of the big cats of the Masai Mara and the spectacular view of the famous migration.
During game viewing remember to keep a sharp lookout, you may witness a dramatic hunt; a solitary leopard retrieving its kill from the high branches of an acacia tree or a herd of elephants protecting their young from predators.
The Mara is one of the richest wildlife spectacular scenery for the annual migration, the Masai Mara wildebeest migration is no considered to be one of the wonders of the world, especially as they cross the Mara River.
The reserve is also regarded as the most spectacular wildlife viewing area in Kenya with over 95 species of mammals and over 400 species of birds.
Game viewing is never dull in the Mara and patience is rewarded with unique sightings, such as a pride of lion stalking prey. All meals will be served at the camp/ lodge.

Day 3: Masai Mara – Drive to Nairobi
For your final day in the Masai Mara Game Reserve, an early morning game viewing drive is planned for you, or instead, you might decide you would like to sleep in.
Breakfast will be served at the camp/ Lodge, after which you will depart by road to Nairobi. The tour ends in Nairobi early in the afternoon. Your African Safari memories will last forever.

Safari Extension to Lake Nakuru National Park
Your 3 Days Masai Mara Students Educational Safari is also extendable by a day to Lake Nakuru National Park for extra amount of money whereby you leave Masai Mara in the late morning for Lake Nakuru with lunch at Mai Mahiu or Naivasha town.
You arrive in Nakuru in the early evening for rest and overnight at a budget hotel. The next day you leave the hotel after breakfast for Nakuru National Park where you have a full day game drive leaving late afternoon for Nairobi.

Day 1: Mombasa – Drive to Ngutuni Lodge
0700 Hours: Depart Mombasa for a 2 hour transfer to Ngutuni Lodge.
0930 Hours: The bride and groom will be given two separate rooms in opposite wings on either side of the main restaurant. Time to relax, freshen up and dress for the wedding.
1130 Hours: A group of traditional dancers (male for the groom and female for the bride) lead them to the area in the restaurant overlooking the waterhole, where the wedding takes place.
After the registrar pronounces you man and wife, you will cut your rich fruitcake. Relax and enjoy champagne as the traditional dancers entertain you.
Lunchtime – Lunch is served to you at this wonderful viewpoint, and after lunch the dancers will lead a procession back to your room.
1500 Hours: You will be taken on a private game drive in Tsavo East National Park. The Park offers the chance to see rhinos, elephants, lions, ostriches and zebras in their natural habitat.
Dinner – You will be served dinner in the lodge restaurant and then overnight at the lodge.
Day 2: Ngutuni Lodge to Drive to Mombasa Island
After a late breakfast, check out of Ngutuni and proceed on a game drive in the sanctuary en-route to Mombasa.
You may wish to bring along your closest family and friends. You may also stay at the lodge for more days.

Shiptons Hut Mount Kenya Climbing Accommodation is located just below the summit of Mount Kenya, embezzled in a world of snow-capped peaks and unique flora and fauna.
Shiptons Hut is located on the Sirimon Route and Sleeps 80 guests maximum per night. The hut offers self-catering accommodation.
Accommodation is in bunkers within the mountain hut. The camp is located at an elevation of 4200 meters and is used by most hikers on their final day before summiting Point Lenana.
Here you can sleep in bunkers within the mountain hut or camp, and rest your weary legs, before embarking on the final stretch of this epic achievement.
Said to be better than Kilimanjaro, Mount Kenya towers over the north eastern side of the Great Rift Valley.
