Stone Town City Tour Zanzibar Spice Farm tour combines 2 tours in a single day: Zanzibar city tour and the Spice Farm excursion.

Go around Stone Town and visit the bustling bazaars, the past slave market and chambers, the National museum, the House of Wonders, the Old fort, Sultan’s palace as well as cathedrals and countless mosques.

There will be also time to shop for souvenirs and handicrafts to choose from. After exploring the markets and shops, walk through a spice farm and learn about the properties, origins and use of certain spices.

You will discover coconut and pineapple plantations, and many other local spice trees. Get a chance to taste and savor local tropical fruits straight from the farm.

Stone Town city tour Zanzibar spice farm tour starts with a visit to Zanzibar’s colorful market.  The market is a place buzzing with fresh produce, friendly people, and a great vibe!

You can buy all kinds of fresh products from cheese, meat, fish, fruits and veggies. We continue on to the site of the cathedral built in 1874.

The cathedral signifies a potent time in Zanzibar’s history and stands on the sight of a past slave market, its high altar standing on the exact site of the whipping post.

Slavery was abolished in 1873 through a decree passed by the then current Sultan of Zanzibar.

From here we visit the residence of the late Sultans of Zanzibar, ‘Tip Tip House’, the Old Fort, ‘Peoples Palace’ and the House of Wonders, full of intrigue and vivid history from a bygone era.

The tour will take you through the narrow streets of the old stone town, the heart of Zanzibar’s vivacious history with time for shopping.

Then visit Maruhubi Palace Ruins built by the third Sultan of Zanzibar named Sultan Said Baraghash Bin Said in 1880 which were built especially for housing 99 of his harem.

For an depth of cultural interaction we visit one of our carefully selected spice farms.

This involves visiting the spices growing areas to see different spices and to learn their nature, uses and taste some of them right on the spot depending on the season.

In addition it includes visits to the famous spices producing area where you can see medicinal, cosmetics, ornamental plants and herbs.

Most of the interesting items are cloves, nutmeg, rambutan, lipstick, iodine plant, lemon grass, vanilla, henna, shampoo plant and more.

Our spice tour offers you the opportunity to indulge your senses with a kaleidoscope of smells, tastes and textures.

From the punch of a chili to the refreshing succulence of green coconut flesh, we promise that this tour will awaken your senses.

It also provides you with the unique opportunity to purchase these exclusive spices straight from the source.

Here marine life is abundant with Good visibility (20 – 60 metres) and a year round average water temperature of 27'celcius ensure that you enjoy your Zanzibar Scuba diving experience.

We offer the best diving in East Africa for small groups of experienced divers. The day before we will confirm with you the pickup time for the shuttle bus for the next day.

The drive from Stone Town to Ras Nungwi is a scenic one and half hours. On arrival we will start with filling in the forms, try the equipment and we need to see the certification cards.

Depending of the tides we will leave by boat (30 minutes) or by bus (30 minutes bumpy ride) when it is low tide. We keep the groups as small as possible and it depends of your qualification in which group you are diving.

All groups are always diving with a PADI instructor or Dive Master who will do a good and informative dive briefing before each dive.

We do maximum 1 hour dive, 1 hour surface interval and then the 2nd dive of maximum 1 hour. In the surface interval we will have some Zanzibar snacks, fruits and spice tea and we relax on the boat.

The first day we will choose an easy dive (depending of the certification and your last dive). What you can expect to see is Green turtles, Moray eels, Giant trevallies, stingrays, frogfish, white tip sharks, lion fish and of course the Bottlenose Dolphins.

If you are lucky you can swim with them in between the dives, but there is a strict no touching and no chasing policy. We will return to the dive centre depending of the tides with the bus or boat trip.

At the dive centre we will log the dives, check the fish books and our drivers will return the guests back to the Hotel.

Zanzibar Scuba Diving Snorkeling Day Tour Information

Depth : As always, depths vary by location. Most diving is well within recreational limits

Skill Level: Beginners through advanced divers will find something incredible in Tanzania

Scuba Gear: It’s always a good idea to bring as much of your dive gear as possible but equipment hire is also available

Visibility : Running from good to excellent throughout Tanzania’s Indian Ocean sites, visibility can reach 30 metres/100 feet.

Currents : The currents vary by location, but range from virtually nonexistent to strong at dive sites off Zanzibar and Pemba.

Water Temperature : Being close to the equator means water temperatures are consistently about 27º C/80º F. Courtesy Unguja Divers

Featured Creatures : Myriad Indian Ocean reef fish, ribbon eels, fire dartfish, chevron barracuda, yellowfin tuna and giant groupers in Pemba.

Length of Stay: Although it depends on your time and budget, you’ll want to spend enough time here to add incredible land excursions to your dive vacation.

Dive Season : Generally speaking, September through March is the best time to dive East Africa because the winds and dive conditions are at their best. You can almost always experience great diving at Zanzibar and Pemba's sheltered sites, while Tanzania sees heavy rains in April and May

Weather: Since it’s just below the equator, the only discernible seasons are dry and wet. The tropical climate in the major dive areas means you'll rarely see temperatures drop below 20º C/68º F and easily soaring to 35-38º C/95-100ºF in Dar-es-Salaam

Transportation: Domestic airlines, trains and buses are the best ways to get around Tanzania. Driving is generally discouraged due to the poor road conditions and other hazards

Zanzibar Mangapwani Coral Cave Nungwi Village Day Tour Zanzibar Mangapwani Coral Cave Nungwi Village Day Tour

Zanzibar Mangapwani Coral Cave Nungwi Village Day Tour takes you to Mangapwani Cave which lies on the coast, about 20 km's north of Zanzibar Town.

After breakfast at your hotel/ residence we pick you and transfer you to Mangapwani Village Zanzibar, a 30 minutes drive from Zanzibar Stone town. Mangapwani cave was a secret hideout where slaves were kept illegally and transported by dhow.

We also visit the Mangapwani Slave Chamber located a few kilometers further up the coast from the Coral Cave. Although sometimes called the Slave Cave, it is a square-shaped cell that has been cut out of the coralline rock, with a roof on top.

It was originally built for storing slaves and boats from the mainland would unload their human cargo on the nearby beach. The slaves would be kept here before being taken to Zanzibar Town for resale, or to plantations on the island.

It is thought that sometime after 1873, when Sultan Barghash signed the Anglo–Zanzibar treaty which officially abolished the slave trade, the cave was used as a place to hide slaves, as an illicit trade continued for many years.

After a tour of the Slave Cave, we drive you to Nungwi Fishing village, which is an hour drive from the cave.Though the village is known for a number of things, probably the most famous reason to visit Nungwi is to enjoy one of Zanzibar’s most spectacular beaches.

Nungwi beach has crystal clear turquoise ocean water, where you will have the opportunity to swim in the warm water.

We enjoy a guided walking tour of the village, which takes a couple of hours, visit the local market, the area where men make dhow sailboats, ladies making baskets, see a number of schools and mosques.

Taking a Nungwi village tour is a great way to see local living in the community. We also visit the Mnarani Natural Aquarium and get to see sea turtles up and close.

After tour you will have free time to relax at the white sand beach north east coast, lunch at any restaurant of your choice (not included in the price).

Rock Restaurant Zanzibar Experience; The Rock Restaurant is located in a unique position on a rock in the middle of the Indian Ocean south east of the island, on the Michamwi Pingwe peninsula in Zanzibar.

The restaurant is a 10 minutes car drive from Paje village,  1 hour from Stone Town Zanzibar and 1.5 hours drive from the extreme north tip of the island, Nungwi. Come dine at sea.

The Rock Restaurant Zanzibar Experience includes a 2-way (return) transfers from your hotel to The Rock and then back to your hotel. Once you reach the beach there are two options to access The Rock.

If the tide is low you can simply walk along the rock paths that take you to the stairs of the restaurant. If the tide is high there is a small wooden boat that takes you directly to the stairs. This a service is offered by the restaurant.

The restaurant is perched on a Zanzibar rock with breathtaking views of Indian Ocean. Rock Restaurant Zanzibar seats 45 diners at a time and is 7 meters high, allowing the water around it to rise 4.5 meters up the rock.

Diners are provided with boats back to shore from at high tide. The Restaurant offers both indoor dining and outdoor seating over the sea. Breathtaking views and fresh sea air also greet visitors who come to this restaurant, in Zanzibar, East Africa.

At the suitably-named Rock Restaurant, diners are provided with more than just fresh fish caught from the Indian Ocean below. The restaurant serves a wide variety of seafood which one can relish on and the food served here is always fresh as the nature’s beauty surrounding it.

The food has a distinct twist of the Zanzibar cuisine which include delicacies like Fish Carpaccio, Calamari prepared with prawns and zucchini or familiar treats like Lobster Spaghetti and much more.

Besides, drinks such as wine, beer and soft drinks are also served. At low-tide, the Rock Restaurant, in Zanzibar, East Africa, can be reached on foot. At other times of the day, diners are transported to and from the rock by boat.

If visitors come to the restaurant while the sea is low, they are able to walk to the rock with no problem.

But as they usually stay late on into the evening when the sea is high around the rock, the restaurant provides a boat service which travels to and from the shore. It is said to be a once in a lifetime experience to dine at the Zanzibar Rock restaurant.

You need to book for your table in advance and be there earlier if you want to see it in daylight.

Unguja Ukuu Boat Trip Zanzibar Day Tour Unguja Ukuu Boat Trip Zanzibar Day Tour

Unguja Ukuu Boat Trip Zanzibar Day Tour is a very special day boat trip to Unguja Ukuu village, far off the tourists track in Zanzibar. This is a great expedition for snorkelling, swimming and seafood enthusiasts.

Unguja Ukuu was the first capital city of the island of Zanzibar and Unguja Ukuu Village is 17 miles by road from Zanzibar town. Unguja Ukuu is notable as the site of what is believed to be the earliest settlement on Zanzibar, dating to at least the 8th century, although there is little remaining today from this era.

Unguja Ukuu is an authentic village where tourism has had almost no impact at all. The area is surrounded with Mangrove Forest.

As one of Zanzibar’s most fertile places, its profusion of forest makes it feel like a place where spirits and magic reside. For now the village offers only one hotel.

Our boat trip starts in Unguja Ukuu village with a traditional motorized dhow boat. We head to the small uninhabited islands, Miwi and Nianembe or Kwale in the protected Menai Bay, where you get to see the unique flora and fauna of Zanzibar’s tropical islands.

You stand some chance of spotting dolphins here – but not guarantee as or as easy to spot as the ones of Kizimkazi village. In case you get to see them here you will likely be the only guests watching.

There are unspoiled beaches with glooming white sands, perfect for relaxation, and the sea around the islands is very good for snorkeling.

After snorkeling the boat will take you to one of the small islands where your barbequed lobster and seafood buffet will be ready for you to tuck into.

During low tide you can walk around the Island with our village guide to show you a mystical cave behind the Island. On the way back to Unguja Ukuu you can enjoy the sunset and the wonderful atmosphere around you.

The Unguja Ukuu boat trip is a private trip.

After slavery was abolished, the cave was used for years to hide and smuggle slaves, an illicit trade that continued for many years. From here you’ll be driven back to the hotel in the afternoon.
