      8 Days Kenya Samburu Aberdare Nakuru Naivasha Mara Wildlife Safari Detailed Itinerary

    Day 1: Nairobi – Drive to Samburu Game Reserve
    This morning we travel by road to Kenya’s northern frontier. Wild and rugged, Samburu is fiercely beautiful with its arid savannahs watered by the lovely Uaso Nyiro River.

    It is also one of Kenya’s most protected areas and home to species only found north of the equator, from the reticulated giraffe to Grevy’s zebras and Beisa Oryxes.

    We also enjoy Larsens Tented Camp or Samburu Intrepids Camp, our luxurious hostelry set beneath a canopy of acacia trees along the banks of the river.

    Overnight Accommodation: Larsens Tented Camp or Samburu Intrepids Camp or Samburu Sopa
    Meal Plan {Lunch & Dinner}

    Day 2: Explore Samburu Game Reserve
    Dawn breaks in golden bands as we start our day in the bush by scanning the river from our tent’s veranda with a cup of steaming coffee in hand.

    Before the dew is off the grass, we’re off in pursuit of the elephants, lions, leopards, and cheetahs that thrive in the reserve’s grasslands and acacia woodlands.

    And so the day is spent in alternating pursuits of exploration in the bush and relaxation in our cozy camp.

    Overnight Accommodation: Larsens Tented Camp or Samburu Intrepids Camp or Samburu Sopa
    Meals: {Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner}

    Day 3: Samburu – Drive to Aberdare or Mt. Kenya National Park (Forest Tree Lodge)
    Today we travel to The Ark Forest Lodge or the Serena Mountain Forest Tree Lodge.

    Nestled in the foothills between Aberdare and Mount Kenya National Park, the lodges are famous for high perches and balconies, overlooking a salt lick and waterhole.

    Here we will enjoy the finest in high-altitude game viewing.

    Overnight Accommodation: Ark Tree Lodge or the Serena Mountain Forest Tree Lodge
    Meals: {Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner}

    Day 4: Sweetwaters – Drive to Lake Nakuru National Park
    Today we travel to the exotic Lake Nakuru National Park located in the Great Rift Valley. After lunch an exciting game run is planned for the afternoon.

    The game in this park is plentiful and the magnificent bird watching will make a devotee out of even the most reluctant.

    The Park is a home to stunning flocks of lesser and Greater Flamingos, which literally turn the lakeshores in to a magnificent pink stretch.

    The bird life here is world renown and over 400 bird’s species exist here, White Pelicans, Plovers, Egrets and Marabou Stork.

    It is also one of the very few places in Africa to see the white Rhino and rare Rothschild Giraffe.

    Overnight Accommodation: Lake Nakuru Lodge or Sarova Lion Hill Lodge
    Meals: {Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner}

    Day 5: Lake Nakuru – Drive to Lake Naivasha
    Next, we overland to papyrus-fringed Lake Naivasha. With over 400 species of bird, this freshwater lake is a birding Paradise.

    Along the lake’s fabled waters, we are bound to see some of the area’s more intriguing species—hippos, giraffes, buffalo and even the arboreal colobus monkey.

    Lake Naivasha lies in the Great Rift Valley and the name derives from the local Masai name Nai'posha, meaning "rough water" because of the sudden storms which can arise.

    After lunch we visit Crescent island- a private sanctuary, where you can walk beneath yellow-barked acacias (yellow fever trees) in search of giraffes, wildebeest , impala , dikdiks, thompson’s and grant’s gazelles, elands, waterbucks and countless bird species.

    Oh, and there are some rather gigantic pythons too! We are allowed to walk with the animals since all were introduced during the filming of Out of Africa.

    An optional boat ride on the lake reveals many water bird species and schools of Hippos.

    Overnight Accommodation: Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge or similar
    Meals: {Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner}

    Day 6: Lake Naivasha – Drive to Masai Mara Game Reserve
    After a leisure breakfast at Naivasha Sopa Lodge, depart overland to the Masai Mara Game Reserve-jewel of Kenya's Game Park.

    The Masai Mara is Kenya's finest and most outstanding wildlife sanctuary where gentle rolling grassland ensures animals are never out of sight.

    The climate is gentle, rarely too hot and well spread rainfall year round. The sensation of the great wildebeest migration between July and October is unparalleled.

    The wildlife is far from being confined within the Reserve boundaries and an even larger area extends beyond the game Reserve.

    Centuries of close association with the wildlife has resulted in an almost symbiotic relationship where wildlife and Masai people live in peace with one another.

    After lunch, explore the Reserve on a late evening 'Spice' game drive.

    No matter how much you have thought about Africa, this is more than you expected—the big five-Lion, Elephant, Leopard, Rhino and Cape buffalo are in abundance.

    Overnight Accommodation: Mara Sopa Lodge or similar

    Meals: {Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner}

    Day 7: Explore Masai Mara Game Reserve
    Today we will be spending in the vast eco-system of the Mara searching for the big five and much more.

    You also have an optional balloon safari- Many call it a once in a life time experience, once you are up, you won’t want to come down, and once you land, champagne breakfast awaits you.

    Game viewing is great from the air with the opportunity for beautiful pictures. The annual wildebeest migration is expected in the Masai Mara between July and early November.

    Millions of aimals migrate to the Mara from Serengeti in search for fresh green pastures and water.

    It’s worth noting that every game drive is different from the other, and missing one is missing out on the fun.

    Overnight Accommodation: Mara Sopa Lodge or Similar
    Meals: {Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner}

    Day 8: Masai Mara – Drive to Nairobi
    Breakfast and one last look at the Mara before we head back to Nairobi by road. We check into our Hotel and enjoy a few hours of relaxation by the pool or perhaps revisit a favorite shop or two.

    After dinner we proceed to the airport knowing that this has been a journey to remember for the rest of our lives.

    Meals: {Breakfast}

      7 Days Kenya Safari Meru Samburu Mount Kenya Sweetwaters Holiday | 7 Days 6 Nights Kenya Road Safari | 7 Days Kenya Safaris Kenya Holiday Packages | Kenya Holiday Safaris | 7 Days Kenya Holiday | Kenya Safari Tour Packages

    7 Days Kenya Safari Meru Samburu Mount Kenya Sweetwaters Holiday begins with a scenic drive to Meru National Park.

    The Park was made famous by the book Born Free, detailing author Joy Adamson’s hand-rearing of orphaned lioness Elsa in the Park.

    Our next destination is Samburu which offers a permanent water supply that's like a magnet for the numerous animal species, that include the big cats, herbivores and reptiles such as crocodiles.

    Samburu is one of the few parks where leopard spotting's are frequent. Samburu also offers superb bird-watching with numerous weaver birds, the martial eagle and the blue legged Somali Ostrich.

    Our destination today is the cool, crisp Kenyan highlands and the historic Mount Kenya Safari Club, set in over 100 acres of landscaped gardens.

    This exclusive resort offers an experience of refined elegance and luxury, as well as a sense of old Hollywood in its glamorous past.

    All of the amenities you would expect from a fine international establishment are here, including horseback riding, golf, croquet, a putting green, a bowling green, table tennis, swimming, a beauty salon, an animal orphanage, tennis, trout streams and more.

    Fine dining, warm hospitality and superb accommodations of suites or cottages are hallmarks of our stay.

    Our grand finale is the Sweetwaters Game reserve. Both Sweetwaters land, the Ol Pejeta Conservancy and its sumptuous ranch were once the private domain of famed multi-millionaire, Adnan Kashoggi.

    We visit the Chimpanzee Sanctuary, a charming haven established by the Jane Goodall Institute to provide sanctuary to orphaned chimps, and the specially protected and fenced refuge of black rhino with its stunning forty specimens!

    In fact salt lick so we’ll be guaranteed unprecedented close encounters. Whether its day or night game drives, camel trekking, lion tracking, al fresco dining or relaxing by pool, Sweetwaters is bound to delight.

    Sweetwaters boasts excellent game viewing with the highest ratio of game to area of any park or reserve in Kenya.

    Day 4: Samburu – Drive to Mount Kenya Safari Club
    This morning we drive to the magnificent Mount Kenya Safari Club nestled in the foothills of snowcapped Mount Kenya.

    Its sprawling colonial design was influenced by the late actor William Holden, who founded the Club in 1959 with two of his friends.

    His love for Africa led him to make Kenya his second home for over twenty-five years.

    The club has over the years attracted legions of internationally renowned members and guests from the world of politics, film and theatre.

    Sir Winston Churchill and Lord Mountbatten were members, and enjoyed sojourns at the club, as have legends Clark Gable and John Wayne, and more recent celebrities such as Robert Redford, Sean Connery and Catherine Deneuve.

    You too will receive the star treatment as you settle into your suite or cozy cottage. Pay a visit and do not miss the animal orphanage operated by the William Holden Wildlife Foundation.

    Here wildlife foundlings are raised with great care and many are quite tame. It is an opportunity to get close to some wild creatures that despite a struggle have managed to survive.

    Overnight Accommodation: Mount Kenya Safari Club
    Meal Plan {Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner}

    Day 5: Mount Kenya Safari Club – Drive to Masai Mara Game Reserve
    After breakfast depart for Masai Mara. This is the Africa of your imagination, where panoramas are vast.

    It is a country of rolling grasslands, dense thickets of scrub and groves of acacia woodland where predators might hide.

    Luxuriant forest grows along the banks of the Mara River, where hippos and crocodiles bask in the sun.

    The Mara is considered the finest game sanctuary in Kenya, home to an astonishing number and variety of animals.

    According to the season, hundreds of thousands of migratory Wildebeest, Gazelle and Zebra move back and forth between the Mara and the plains and woodlands to the south.

    Enjoy lunch at Naivasha Country Club and continue to the Mara for your afternoon ‘Spice’ game run, when your driver will set off in pursuit of the great herds.

    Overnight Accommodation: Keekorok Lodge or Mara Safari Club or Kichwa Tembo Camp or Mara Serena Lodge
    Meal Plan {Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner}

    Day 6: Explore Masai Mara Game Reserve
    Your day begins with an early morning ‘Spice’ game drive taking you into the Mara plains when the animals are most active.

    On the other hand, you may choose to add a hot air balloon safari – the ultimate safari experience! You leave camp before dawn – the sky is clear, the air is brisk and the conditions are perfect.

    As the sun rises over the Mara plains in your balloon lifts off, a bright splash of color rising into the blue.

    Watch as a stunning panorama unfolds below you and the balloon’s basket becomes your lookout post for a bird’s-eye view of the beauty of Africa.

    Float silently just a few hundred feet above herds of wild animals. Gazelle and Impala watch curiously with their tails flagging – a warning to others that you are approaching.

    A pride of Lions stalks an unsuspecting herd of Wildebeest. Giraffes poke their heads out of the forest where they have been nibbling tender leaves.

    The tranquility of the experience is interrupted only by the occasional ‘whoosh’ of the air heaters.

    Finally, you gently touch down, with an appetite sharpened by the fresh air, all ready for a delicious champagne breakfast in the middle of the bush.

    After a relaxing repast, continue honing your game spotting skills on a game drive as you make your way back to the camp/ Lodge.

    After lunch and some time to relax, enjoy a second ‘Spice’ game drive this afternoon.

    Overnight Accommodation: Keekorok Lodge or Mara Safari Club or Kichwa Tembo Camp or Mara Serena Lodge
    Meal Plan {Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner}

    Day 7: Masai Mara – Drive to Nairobi
    Begin the day with an optional bush walk, an intimate exploration of the world of the African savannah. Use all your senses as you encounter the sights, sound and smell that surround you.

    Your guide will point out brilliantly colored birds, camouflaged game of every variety, and a wealth of flora.

    Learn the skills of successful tracking as you follow animal trails in the dust, watching for each clue to their habits and movements.

    Alternatively, you may take the regular morning ‘Spice’ game drive. After breakfast, depart for Nairobi arriving in early afternoon.
