2 Days 1 Night Entebbe Tour Uganda from Kampala is an exciting 2 daytrip to Entebbe located 45 minutes drive from Kampala city centre.  Entebbe is a colonial town situated at the shores of Lake Victoria.

The town has Indian style buildings with nearby attractions such as Zika forest, Uganda Wildlife Education Center, Entebbe Botanical Gardens, Mabamba swamp and the Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary.

Other attractions include the historical Churches in the area. Entebbe Town has some of the oldest Anglican and Catholic Churches in Uganda.

Other optional Entebbe attraction include a visit to the Kigungu traditional fishing village, Explore beaches like Imperial Resort Beach, Anderita Beach, Lido Lido Beach and Aero Beach.

You could also head to the open market which takes place every Tuesday right in Kitoro or Catch the one on Saturday at Kitubulu some 5 km's from Kitoro.

2 Days 1 Night Entebbe Tour Uganda Itinerary

Day 1: Kampala – Drive to Entebbe   
0800 Hours: Breakfast at your hotel in Kampala followed by a pick up by our driver to Entebbe. Entebbe is a lovely, quaint city about 40 kilometers outside of Kampala.

Our first stop is at Zika forest situated along Entebbe road (25 km's away from Kampala city). Here we enjoy bird watching and a canopy walk. The forest has over 140 types of woody plants, butterflies, leopards, snakes and colobus monkeys amongst others. 

Later we proceed to Uganda Wildlife Education Center [UWEC] formerly referred to as Entebbe Zoo where over 50 different animal species are represented by over 200 animals.

They are all housed in large, open air enclosures, simulating their natural habitat in the wild, with interpretations about each animals' biography, biological and social information.

The centre is a bird watchers' paradise where one can watch over 250 bird species and for photographers, an excellent close-up photo opportunity for wildlife in an environment very similar to the wild.

We proceed to the Entebbe Botanical Gardens which offers a superb introduction to Ugandan birds. Key Birds of the gardens are orange tufted and red chested Sun birds and orange weaver.

On the lake and around the shore looks for long tailed Cormorant , Common Squacco and black-headed herons, hamerkop ,African Open-billed Stork , yellow billed duck etc.

There is a small ruminate patch of rain forest where Guereza Colobus and vervet monkeys can be observed. Please note that you may need binoculars, an ornithology book for better identification of Uganda birds.

1300 Hours: Lunch is at the Entebbe Imperial Botanical Beach hotel followed by relaxation

1500 Hours: Later we head to Mabamba Swamp Wetlands on the outskirts of Lake Victoria. Here you will see various species of birds including Shoebill Stork, African Jacana, Purple Heron, Black Kite, African Fish Eagle, Pied and Malachite Kingfisher among others.

Wooden motorized boats are used to ride through the waterways to access different areas of the swamps while looking for the Shoebill, other water birds and also enjoy the panorama of the wetland outlay.

1800 Hours: Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Entebbe – Ngamba Island – Entebbe – Kampala
0800 Hours: We enjoy breakfast at the hotel in Entebbe the proceed for our 1 Day Ngamba Island chimpanzee tour which takes you to the only chimpanzee Island (Ngamba Island chimpanzee sanctuary) situated on lake Victoria.

Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary is surrounded by the fresh waters of Lake Victoria and is home to 49 chimpanzees with 20 male and 29 female chimpanzees.

Amongst these, 46 are orphaned chimps and the other 3 were luckily born on this Island.

Once we get to Lake Victoria, we shall board a speed boat which will take us approximately 45 minutes of travel on water to land on the Ngamba Island.

Once on the Island, you will be taken to the visitors' centre where you will be introduced to Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary, its history and be briefed about the different activities available.

After the 1100 Hours chimp feeding, you will be taken through the different centres at the Island eg the chimp food store. The chimp care-giver explains how to store the chimp food and the types of food given to the chimpanzees.

The chimps feed on fruits like pineapples, oranges, tomatoes, apples, water melons, passion fruits, jack fruits, carrots, cabbage, cassava etc. which may not be enough from their searches in the forest.

You will also be taken at the Chimp clinic, and be taken through how to care for the chimps, types of treatment offered and their general health status.

In the afternoon you will participate in the food preparation activity as one of the behind the scenes activities under the guidance of a caregiver.

Later in the afternoon you will catch your return boat at 1600 Hours

Our driver will meet you and transfer you to your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe.

Day 1: Kampala – Drive to Bukalasa Agricultural research station
0800 Hours: Breakfast at your place of stay in Kampala followed by a departure to Bukalasa Agricultural Center. Our scenic drive today takes takes us along the Kampala – Gulu road for about 47 km's  to Wobulenzi town.

We then branch off to proceed to Bukalasa about 5 km's on murram driving through impressive countryside landscapes exploring the local farming practices before arriving at Bukalasa.

Upon arrival, you embark on the tour of the center. The center acts as the agricultural hub of Uganda serving as a center of research about animal and crop husbandry not forgetting the agricultural soils.

The center dates far back to 1920 when it was established as a Cotton Breeding Center during the colonial era and has since evolved to become a center of significance in the country.

The tour to the projects being undertaken and the accomplished ones including the crop and animal interbreeding, the new farming practices, the soil – crop matching, the palatable and highly nutritious pastures for livestock among others.

It is a whole day study tour (with lunch included) that will not only make your encounter memorable but also reward you with remarkable knowledge that you can apply to your farm to teach to others for impressive results.

After the tour, you drive back to Kampala for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 2:  Kampala – Drive to the Jesa Farm Diary in Busunju
0800 Hours: Breakfast at your hotel in Kampala, then a road transfer to JESA Farm located 50 km's North West of Kampala to explore an established modern dairy farm.

This great dairy farm saw its beginning in the year 1989. The farm has transformed from the sale of raw milk to processing and sale of a wide range of dairy products including fresh pasteurized milk, yoghurt, UHT milk, fresh cream and butter.

The Jesa Farm supports a count of 650 Friesian Cattle which are kept under the advanced animal husbandry and importantly the great count of animal feed is produced at this farm.

The farm also features a dairy plant which processes all the milk got from the farm and a count of 100,000 liters of milk are processed per day without sourcing of raw milk from a range of 150 out growers close to the farm and beyond subject to meeting the quality standards.

Jesa also offer extension services in terms of milk handling, quality bulls and vaccines. The JESA is among the two ISO food safety standard certified in Uganda along with being Halal certified which makes all its products to carry the Q mark system of UNBS.

Thus your day visit to JESA Farm is a great livestock agricultural encounter that you can ever have in Uganda.

After the tour you  drive back to Kampala in the evening.

2 Day Jinja Tour Bujagali Falls River Nile Mabira Forest is a short active adventure holiday for both locals and visitors looking for fun and interesting places to visit located not too far from Kampala – Uganda. 

Enjoy a full day of white Water rafting on the Nile River, visit the spectacular sezibwa falls, Jinja town city tour, visit the source of the Nile, boat ride at the source of the Nile, visit Mabira tropical forest for a nature walk and the Owen Fall Dam.

This tour begins with a visit to the human-born Sezibwa Falls then proceeds to the Mabira Forest, a well developed eco tourism site.

2 Day Jinja Tour Bujagali Falls River Nile Mabira Forest Itinerary

Day 1: Kampala – Drive to Ssezibwa Falls – Mabira Forest – Jinja Uganda
0730 Hours: After your breakfast at your hotel, depart by road driving east along the Jinja – Kampala road. The scenic drive takes you through banana, sugar and tea plantations, road side markets, trading centers and local villages.

Our day’s adventure includes a brief stop at the Ssezibwa Falls – a Buganda Kingdom cultural site. The spectacular falls originate from two rivers that flow from Mabira forest.

A local guide at the site offers an insight of the Buganda culture. Thereafter, continue with our journey to Jinja making a second stop at Mabira Forest. The main activities in the Mabira forest are bird watching and nature walks.

We take a walk in the forest. The natural Habitat forest boasts of more than 312 species of trees. It is also home to 315 species of birds.

Other unique features to see in the forest reserve include 218 butterfly species, 97 moths species, 23 small mammal species especially primate species of monkey clan and the spectacular Griffin falls.

1300 Hours: Lunch break in Jinja town. Jinja is Uganda’s second biggest town after Kampala. It is where we find the source of the mighty Nile River, Bujagali falls and many industries.

Jinja is located on the Northern shore of Lake Victoria above Ripon falls near Owen falls dam.

1400 Hours: After lunch, proceed to the source of the River Nile for a boat ride and to see where the Nile starts it’s approximately 6000 kms journey to Mediterranean Sea in Egypt. 

We also visit the Speke Monument where John Speke stood and declared the discovery of the Source to the Nile River.

1800 Hours: After a full day of activity we transfer to our accommodations in Jinja.

Day 2: White Water Rafting – Drive to Kampala
After breakfast, go for a full day adventure of white water rafting. Enjoy the most thrilling white water rafting at different grade stages in the morning.

The white water rafting begins with a comprehensive briefing and the fitting of life jackets and helmets. The rafting is done on an 18 kilometer stretch of the Nile River.

The first few rapids are low grade (1, 2) and give you a sense of confidence. As the river meanders through beautiful scenery, the rafts are guided into the mighty challenges of the best “grade 5” rapids on the Nile.

Eight major rapids are rafted plus lower graded runs to maximize the adrenaline rush of this adventure. In the afternoon after lunch we return to Kampala reaching in the evening in time for dinner.

2 Days 1 Night Chimpanzee Tracking Safari Budongo Forest Reserve is a short overnight expedition from Kampala to Budongo Forest in Uganda that offers unique opportunities to meet Chimpanzees – our closest relatives in their natural habitat.

Budongo Forest is situated approximately 3 hours drive northwest of the capital city Kampala on the way to the prominent Murchison Falls National Park.

The forest is renowned for its high number of mahogany trees and chimpanzees and is believed to contain some 600 to 700 chimpanzees and other primate species such as monkeys. 

One can also view several bird species such as Chocolate-backed kingfisher, the White-thighed Hornbill and Puvel’s illadiposis found nowhere else in East.

The area is relatively flat and thus easy to trek. You’ll team up with field assistants at the Budongo Conservation Field Station to observe chimps and other primates as they forage for food in the morning and late afternoon.

The Budongo Forest is home to many fruiting trees and several species of primate that depend upon tree fruit as a major component of their diets. Budongo Forest is ranked among the top five tourist destinations in Uganda.

The forest contains the Royal Mile, named for its popularity as a traditional stopover for Uganda's royalty.

The Royal Mile is a superb birding spot, with many West and Central African species in addition to the local East African species.

Chimpanzee Tracking (Kaniyo Pabidi only). The walk generally lasts between 2 to 4 hours in the forest. Maximum of 2 groups of 4 to 6 people per morning and afternoon will be allowed to track chimpanzees with our experienced guides.

The tracking will include one hour with the wild community of chimpanzees that have been habituated. This community is known as the southern community and consists of around 45 to 50 individuals.

The walk will include viewing of other wildlife in the forest and also seeing the oldest mahogany trees in East Africa. Other diurnal primates that may be seen during this walk are black and white colobus, red tail monkeys, blue monkeys and olive baboons.

2 Days 1 Night Chimpanzee Tracking Safari Budongo Forest Reserve Itinerary

Day 1: Kampala – Drive to Budongo Forest Reserve
0700 Hours: Depart Kampala after breakfast fort a 3 hour drive to Budongo Forest Reserve. The scenic drive through Ugandan countryside offers so many picturesque vistas including villages. 

You will be in a comfortable vehicle with (bottled water for your comfort) and driven by our professional English speaking driver.

1100 Hours: Arrive at Kaniyo Pabidi at Budongo Forest and lunch follows.  Our accommodations will be at the Budongo Eco-Lodge where one can sleep in any of the 4 dormitory rooms or any of the 6 intimate Log-Cabins.

After lunch at the Budongo Eco-Lodge enjoy a guided forest walk for about 4 hours to discover the beauty of this awesome place.

After lunch you choose to take a guided Forest Walk for 1½ hours or a 3 hours guided birding adventure.

1900 Hours: Dinner at Budongo Eco Lodge and later relax at your porch in this lovely part of Uganda in the midst of the Budongo Forest.

Day 2: Budongo Forest Reserve – Chimpanzee Tracking – Drive to Kampala
0700 Hours: Breakfast at the lodge then followed by Chimpanzee tracking for 3 to 4 hours in a small group experience. The Chimp trek sets out from the visitors information center at Budongo Eco Lodge.

Sometimes the Chimpanzee can be so near that they can be heard from the Budongo Eco lodge and the trek to find them will take a few minutes. You spend only one hour with the Chimpanzee and no more than 8 persons can track.

However during a certain times of the year when food is not readily available, the chimpamzees travel away from this territory, wondering deeper into the forest thus tracking them becomes more difficult.

Each day, chimpanzees like gorillas move to new locations for the night building fresh nests for the day. Budongo Forest is a project of both the Jane Goodall Institute and Uganda Wildlife Authority.

2 Days 1 Night Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary Safari is a short overnight trip from Kampala or Entebbe in Uganda to Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary located 23 kilometers offshore from Entebbe.

Ngamba Island is positioned in the interior of Lake Victoria, the second largest fresh water lake in the world and the largest tropical lake in the world.

The Chimpanzee Sanctuary & Wildlife Conservation Trust (CSWCT) was established in 1998 to support the welfare of orphaned rescued Chimpanzees at Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary in Lake Victoria.

Today Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary cares for about 48 orphaned chimpanzees. The Sanctuary's 100 acre forested island provides a safe haven for orphaned chimpanzees that are now free to roam their island.

Thanks to project leaders Uganda Wildlife Education Center (UWEC) and other concerned organizations that raised funds for the project. It offers a unique opportunity for close viewing of chimpanzees in their natural environment.

Pre-arranged supplementary feeding times (1100 Hours and 1300 Hours each day) brings the chimpanzees to within meters of the raised walkway specially designed for easy viewing and provides excellent photographic opportunities.

Our 2 day tour includes an overnight at the island tented camp with full board accommodation, a forest walk with the chimpanzees where you will interact with the juvenile group and feeding of Chimpanzees.

Other activities include Island forest walks, caregiver program, chimpanzee’s observation and optional Lake Victoria water sports activities.

You will be picked at your residence/ hotel and transferred to Entebbe dock then enjoy a transfer by a speed boat to Ngamba Island.

Once on the Island you will engage in Chimpanzee planned activities spend a night and the following day you will be dropped off at your place of stay in either Entebbe or Kampala.

2 Days 1 Night Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary Safari Itinerary

 Day 1: Kampala – Drive to Entebbe Pier – Take a 45 Minutes Boat Ride To Ngamba Island 
0800 Hours: This morning depart Kampala/ Entebbe after breakfast and drive to the Entebbe pier.

0900 Hours:  Aboard a boat for 45 across to Ngamba Island Chimp Sanctuary.

1000 Hours: Upon arrival a short introduction/ briefing of the sanctuary and its work will be offered the little later it will be time for feeding the chimps (feeding is usually for an hour at 1100 Hours and 1430 Hours respectively).

It is very exciting to see the Chimps during feeding time as you will observe different characters some whistling for food and others clapping.

1230 Hours: Lunch at the camp, then rest a little by the lake shores and watch the different bird species at the island. Monitor lizards are also commonly seen at the shore of the lake.

Later in the afternoon, you can work together with the care takers to prepare the gorilla food which may be millet porridge, corn meal, fruits, among others that they will have in the afternoon.

Alternatively, relax and enjoy the fresh breeze by the lake or enjoy kayaking, swimming on the equator, visiting a nearby fishing village, go for bird watching, island wildlife watching etc.

Then in the evening, you can enjoy an optional recreational sunset boat cruise on Lake Victoria.

Day 2: Ngamba Island – Morning Activities – Take a 45 Minutes Boat Ride – Entebbe Pier – Drive to Kampala
There are various activities that you can choose to be a part of on this day. The options include taking a forest walk but this decision has to be made the day before since you have to get up early if you are to do this walk

Forest Walk; Wake up for the forest walk where you will interact with the young group aged between 4 to 7 years old.

During the forest walk this juvenile may climb all over you, and normally many at the same time may expect you to carry them, so be ready for this state of great excitement. The walk lasts just about an hour.

As you walk through this forest, you will see lots of bird species and various tree species. About 4 visitors are allowed go in to the forest at a time with the company of a guide.

From the forest walk, you will go have your breakfast and then you will go for the community Integration of the infant chimpanzees.

Integration program; Integrating the orphaned chimpanzees into one community. The integration of the new arrivals to the group is a continuous progress as the rescued animals have been arriving at different times from the time the sanctuary was established in 1998.

The time that it takes to integrate any of the chimpanzees to the community depends on different factors including age, sex, level of trauma experienced, how long the individual lived in capacity before coming to the sanctuary among others.

The integration program are done in three phases; getting the new arrivals used to the new environment in the indoor facility on arrival, getting them integrated with the others in smaller groups in the outside enclosure and finally in the main forest with the rest of the group.

Caregiver for the day: This is a unique program where you get the opportunity to experience a day in the life of a chimpanzee caregiver by being a caregiver yourself.

You will get the opportunity to not only view the chimps feeding, but to participate in preparing their food and feeding them

In the afternoon board your boat back to the main land where you will meet your guide for your drive back to Kampala/ Entebbe where the Safari ends.

Aberdare Country Club Hotel Mweiga Nyeri is an Old English Country Farm house hotel with cottage style accommodation situated on the slopes of Mwiega Hill, about 1.6 kilometers from Mweiga airstrip.

Azizi Roundhouse Cottage Sandai Farm is a beautiful Kenyan-style Roundhouse holiday house situated on Sandai Farm between Aberdare National Park and Mt. Kenya.

The farm is 26.5 kilometers from Nyeri town and 220 kilometers from Nairobi and it takes about a 3 to 4 hours drive. The round house is small and cozy and ideal for couples or families with children.

It can accommodate 4 guests comfortably. There is a large bedroom with a double bed as well as a small open gallery where an additional mattress can be place.
