This villa is about 360 km from Nairobi by road and it takes an hour’s flight from Nairobi to Samburu. This villa is fantastic for families with young children.

Saruni Samburu Family Villa 1 has 2 separate en-suite bathrooms joined by a spacious living room and veranda and can sleep 4 to 5 guests.

2 Days 1 Night White Water Rafting Jinja River Nile is a short overnight tour for two days full of thrills and spills to mild & mellow, this is the ultimate white water rafting adventure on the Nile.

On the first day you will spend about 4 – 5 hours on the river and the second day 4 – 5 hours on the river. The tour departs from Jinja 0830 Hours or Kampala at 0630 Hours. Pick-ups from other hotels in Jinja available on request.

The 2 day white water rafting trip also offers plenty of time to relax and enjoy your surroundings, admire the abundant bird life, watch the fisherman cast their nets from dugout canoes, wave at children collecting water and smile at the ladies doing their washing.

Sitting by a fire on the banks of the River Nile at night is an experience in itself, the complete silence and feeling of isolation as you count the stars in the sky can only be described as invigorating.

This trip departs every day (Except Christmas and New Years Day) and is subject to minimum 3 guests.

2 Days 1 Night White Water Rafting Jinja River Nile Itinerary

Day 1: Kampala – Drive to Jinja (Nile Source and Bujagali)
0630 Hours: Whether staying in Jinja or Kampala, we will provide free transport to our rafting meet point. Please ensure that we are aware of your pick-up point by the night before. Confirm with African Spice Safaris.

On arrival you will have the opportunity to meet your fellow rafters and guides while enjoying tea or coffee. After a quick briefing, you will be fitted out with life jackets and helmets before heading off 15 kilometers down river to the start point of the days rafting.

En-route you will have time to enjoy a breakfast of “Rolex”, fruit salad and juice. “Rolex” (rolled eggs) is Uganda’s famous equivalent of a breakfast burrito, a tasty Spanish omelet wrapped in a chapatti.

Rafting is a physical activity so make sure you eat up big. Snacks of fruit, nuts and biscuits are provided on the river to help keep your energy levels up throughout the day, but we don’t like to weigh you down with a big lunch just before the next major rapid.

Our rafting start point is on a flat pool just above our first major rapid, Overtime. While our crew unload the rafts and slide them down the ramp into the river you will have time to admire the spectacular view as well as use the toilets and changing room provided on site.

Once down at the river’s edge, you will receive a detailed safety briefing, before launching into the river for a last bit of practical instruction as we float down the pool.

Overtime kicks off with a bang, as we maneuver through the rocks and negotiate the 12 feet drop.

As the river meanders through beautiful scenery, we guide the rafts into the mighty challenges of some of the biggest and safest grade 5 white water rafting in the world.

Eight major rapids are rafted plus several lower graded runs; all selected to maximize your safety and fun.

We stop before all grade 4 and 5 rapids to explain to you the planned route through, so if at any time you feel you would prefer to join the safety boat or where possible, walk around and then rejoin the raft, this is absolutely fine.

Calm stretches of water separate the rapids – perfect for getting your breath back, taking a swim and enjoying the scenery.

Stopping in the early afternoon, a delicious late lunch awaits us at The Hairy Lemon where we will spend the night. A choice of accommodation is offered, either camping in our tents with mattresses and bedding, or dorms or bungalows.

Whichever you choose, this peaceful and relaxed island hideaway situated in the middle of the Nile, is the perfect place to spend the night.

With its own beach, there is lots of opportunity to continue the fun with a game of water volleyball and or simply to relax in the calm pools that surround the island.

For the keen fisherman, this is the perfect place cast a line. Bring along your own rods or hire them there. Relax with a drink while watching the wonders of nature and the dramatic colour change of the sky and the river on sunset.

Enjoy a hearty Berbeque dinner before drifting away to the campfire to reflect on the day’s events.

Day 2 : Jinja (Nile Source and Bujagali) – Drive to Kampala
After a leisurely breakfast enjoying the spectacular views of the River Nile, we raft a further 15km down the river.

This section has fewer rapids, and longer meandering pools, so the pace is quite different, and to liven it up you have the option of paddling one of our two-man inflatable canoes or river boarding in the rapids.

The scenery is quite unspoilt, and you can enjoy the odd encounter with fishermen floating along in dugouts, or with bleary-eyed men brewing waragi, the toxic local moonshine.

Ending the day at the ferry point of Busana, we then head back to our new Riverside Restaurant for a delicious BBQ buffet meal and cold beers and sodas.

Once you have eaten your fill and sated your thirst with a couple of cold ones, we will then transport you to your destination, by shuttle bus to Kampala, or back to Jinja.

Saruni Samburu Luxury Lodge

Saruni Samburu Luxury Lodge is a luxury safari accommodation located on Kalama Conservancy 95,000 hectares private reserve.

The lodge is 7 km (a 20 minutes game drive) away from the Northern border of Samburu National Reserve in Northern Kenya and 360 km from Nairobi.

It takes an hour’s flight from Nairobi to Samburu and the drive takes about 5 hours. Access to Saruni Samburu is through the Kalama airstrip or the Buffalo Springs airstrip.

Saruni Samburu Luxury Lodge borders Ngutuk Ongiron to the west, Namunyak Community Conservation Trust to the north and Sera Community Wildlife Conservation to the north east.

There are 6 luxury eco-chic villas, all furnished with African décor and artifacts. Each has a private bathroom with indoor shower and some of them also include a bath and outdoor shower.

2 Days Murchison Falls Safari Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary Tour is a short overnight wildlife safari from Kampala and begins with a visit to Ziwa Rhino and Wildlife Ranch located in Nakasongola 176 km’s North of Kampala off Kampala – Gulu Highway.

The sanctuary is the proud home of the only wild rhinos in Uganda and is popular with tourists; for rhino trekking, bird watching, nature walks and relaxation.

Rhino trekking takes about 2 hours in the company of well trained and knowledgeable local guides.

Later we proceed to Murchison falls National Park where there are myriad of activities such as wildlife game drives, nocturnal game drives, Nile River boat safari, Murchison Falls – top of the falls hike and Nile Delta boat ride.

Other activities available include hot air balloon wildlife safaris, birding at the park, hiking in the park, visit Kibiro salt gardens & fishing village, chimpanzee tracking at Budongo forest and Boomu Ugandan village visits.

Murchison Falls National Park in Uganda is the largest wildlife reserve in the country. It is home to more Rothschild Giraffes than anywhere else in Africa. Vast herds of elephants, buffaloes, and antelopes.

This is also carnivore country and you can see lion, leopard other cats here.

There are many things to do and see in Murchison Falls National Park, something for everyone, most of all you experience the African wild, the African bush, forest, wildlife, birds, primates and the River Nile.

Day 1: Kampala – Drive to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary – Porceed to Murchison Falls National Park
After your breakfast, we drive through the famous Luwero triangle. On our way we visit and track White Rhinos at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary.

This sanctuary has now been established to breed black and white rhino, and restore Rhino population in Uganda’s protected areas at a later stage.

We will continue through the park stopping at the top of the falls which is a fantastic sight. Here the Nile, the longest river in the world, is forced through a narrow gap in the rock (only 7 meters wide), before ferociously plunging down 43 meters.

From here we will continue onto our accommodation located along the Nile River.

Day 2: Murchison Falls National Park – Drive to Kampala
0600 Hours: Enjoy an cup of tea, coffee or Hot chocolate then proceed for an early morning safari game drive Murchison Falls National Park looking for giraffes, elephants, lions, leopard, hippos, crocodiles, etc.

0930 Hours: Breakfast at the lodge then head to the Delta in search for bird life enjoying a game drive to looking for elephant, the Cape Buffalo, Jackson’s Hartebeest, the lion, the Rothschild Giraffe, the Oribi, Uganda Kob, leopard etc.

1230 Hours: We will drive back to the lodge for lunch before taking an afternoon boat cruise to the foot of Murchison Falls.

This boat trip along the Nile is often cited as being the highlight of a trip to Murchison since it allows you to get up-close and personal with the animals.

Along this stretch of the river, there are reported to be around 4,000 hippos in addition to some enormous Nile crocodiles.

The bird life is stunning with brightly colored kingfishers and bee-eaters darting along the riverbanks. If lucky, you may see the rare and prehistoric looking shoebill, which is a cross between the dodo and a dinosaur.

The boat takes you to the base of the falls which only adds to their impressiveness. Later, proceed back to Kampala.

Day 1: Kampala – Drive to Murchison Falls Park (Travel time: 6 hours’ drive from Kampala to Murchison)
0600 Hours: An early breakfast followed by a short safari briefing, you will depart your hotel and drive (6 hours drive; 360 km's) to Murchison Falls National Park.

The drive takes you through the historical Luwero triangle enjoying the sceneries and lunch break in Masindi town.

Arrive at your choice of lodging, check in and lunch follows. After lunch, we drive out of town along a dirt road for 25 minutes and arrive at the Murchison Falls National Park.

Day 2: Murchison Falls Park – Drive to Kampala
0630 Hours: After an early morning breakfast we depart for a game drive across the savanna, along Lake Albert Delta. You will see abundant wildlife as the sun rises.

Murchison Falls National Park offers a variety of game including elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo, hartebeest, giraffe and a heaven of antelopes.

1100 Hours: We return to the hotel and check out, then drive to Masindi town for lunch at either Masindi Hotel or Court View Hotel and later proceed to Kampala.

En-route we stop at the top of the falls where you will get a great sense from above – It's an awesome sight and experience.

Our chimpanzee Trekking tour guide will pick you from your Hotel for your journey to Kibale Chimpanzee safari Park (320 Kilometers).

The drive to Kibale will take you 4-5 hours arriving at your lodge in Kibale early afternoon. You will have your lunch in Fort portal town and proceed to the park and check in at your lodge.

You will have the afternoon free to relax or enjoy a 2 to 3 hours guided nature walk in the wildlife-rich Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary for sightings of a variety monkeys, birds, trees, shrubs and vines.

Day 2 : Kibale National Park – Drive to Kampala
On day 2 of your Uganda Chimpanzee tour, your will have breakfast and assemble at your briefing point. Your primate walk will start from Kanyanchu River camp at 0800 Hours.

It will last for 2-4 hours and is the most popular walk, highlighting diversity of different animals and plants species within the forest.

This walk is restricted to three groups of six persons each, in the morning and the same number in the afternoon.

The search for chimpanzees and other primates including; The black and white Colobus monkeys, Red-tailed and grey cheeked Manga bays swinging through the dense forest and variety of bird species, butterflies and lots of insects in close quarters.

Samburu Game Lodge

Samburu Game Lodge is beautifully situated in 10 acres of pristine riverine forest on the western banks of the Uaso Nyiro River in the arid heart of Samburu National Reserve, Kenya. The lodge is 320 kilometers from Nairobi – a 6 hour drive by road or a 60 minute flight from Nairobi Wilson Airport.

The lodge has 61 guestrooms comprising of cottages, rooms and suites all decorated using the finest materials and fabrics. Each room is tastefully fitted with a safe, writing desk, chairs, wall fan, en-suite bathrooms and private balconies overlooking the river. There are also several family rooms and one room has been custom designed to accommodate the special needs of physically challenged persons.

The Vulturine Bar draws on Samburu's abundant and unique bird life and is opened throughout the day and evening, also overlooking the river. Comfortable seats ring this bar and guests can hide from the sun in the afternoon or watch it set in the evening while sipping a cold drink.

There is an outdoor pool which is the perfect place to relax after a hot day on a Kenya safari. The enclosed area shaded by flowering shrubs around the pool also has sun beds and a pool side bar serving drinks and snacks. Samburu Sopa Lodge

Samburu Sopa Lodge is located inside the Samburu National Reserve in Northern Kenya and is built atop high ground allowing panoramic views of the vastness of Samburu. Nairobi is 325 kilometers away and it takes 7 hours by road or 1.5 hours flight to the lodge.

The lodge has 30 individual guest cottages each comprising of 2 rooms, forming buffalo horn pattern converge at the public facilities area, leaving the open end to free movement of the wildlife to access the waterhole. Local materials have been used in the construction, furnishings and interior decoration.

Each guestroom is tastefully fitted with 2 queen size beds, closet, large dressing table, en-suite bathroom with a shower stall and an open air veranda which overlooks the waterhole. The architecture blends in with the area, to keep up with the style of the housing by the local Samburu people.

Samburu Simba Lodge

Samburu Simba Lodge is located on the Buffalo Springs National Reserve within Isiolo District. Buffalo Springs is located on the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River, 300 kilometers North of Nairobi. Samburu Airstrip is 15 kilometers from the lodge.The lodge has 7 villas that house 70 rooms and every villa has 6 rooms on the ground floor and 4 rooms on the first floor.

The back wall of the room has rough, soothing brick stone detailing and each room is tastefully fitted with a ceiling fan, work desk, seating area and large sliding double doors open onto the private verandah outside where you can spend time in comfortable lounge chairs. The en-suite bathrooms have a shower with warm or cold water.

The lodge serves a wide variety of African and continental dishes can be enjoyed at the on-site restaurant. Outdoor dining is available at the terrace which is fitted with four-sitter tables. There is also a well stocked bar that offers a variety of soft drinks, choice wine and other alcoholic drinks.

Samburu Simba Lodge has 2 swimming pools offering views of the gorgeous Samburu wilds. Tall yellow fever trees provide shade and lounge chairs furnish the stone deck around the pool and guests can also order drinks at the poolside bar as they spend time relaxing or soaking in the cool water.

The Lodge has several conference rooms for over 100 delegates and business centre with photocopy, typing and internet access. The facilities offer ideal venues for r social or corporate events.
