Wajee Mara Camp

Wajee Mara Camp is a situated in Sekenani area, a kilometer from the Sekenani gate of Masai Mara National Reserve. The camp is 254 kilometers from Nairobi and 99 kilometers from Narok Town.

The camp has 13 standard tents and 6 deluxe self-contained tents all with en-suite bathrooms and showers and toilets. The standard tents have doubles or twin beds, canvas walls, zip out fronts, safe and safari chairs placed outside with views overlooking the surrounding forest.

The deluxe tents have plenty of space and have been built with plywood, mazeras stone, and other indigenous building materials. There is a camping ground where guests can pitch their own tents. There are shared toilets and showers which are in close proximity to the camping grounds.

Wajee Mara Camp has its own dining area and kitchen where dishes are prepared and served. There is an open bonfire set up in the evenings where guests can exchange stories of the day’s escapades.

Guests who are camping have the option of having their meals at the dining area or prepare their meals in the individual private areas which have a cooking and dinning section. The camping grounds are spacious and in a cool shaded area and have litter bins.

Tangulia Mara Camp

Tangulia Mara Camp is a traditional safari camp built on a rocky hill within a private land on the western boundary of the Mara Reserve, near the Musiara Marsh and 16 kilometers away from the Hippo pool.

The camp ideally located allowing easy access to game drive around the Musiara Marsh, the short grass plains and Rhino Ridge, in the Reserve; or across the Mara River bridge into the Mara Triangle west of the river.

Tangulia Mara Camp has 6 tents. 5 of the tents are shaded under a canopy of trees and are built on raised floors of Talek flat stone with a small stone verandah and have thatched roof.

The sixth tent has overlooks the salt lick, and does not have a thatched roof.

Each tent features with a double and a single bed, chairs and a wooden table, drying rack for clothing, and a permanent en-suite bathroom with shower, basin, and flush toilet.

Both hot and cold water is piped into the tents from a storage tank, allowing for running showers.

The mess includes a living room and dining area and is a thatched and open fronted building, overlooking the Olotulo Murt Salt Lick.

Meals have both the African and international touch and guests can also enjoy their meals in the outdoors.

There is a large wooden dining table where communal dinners are served; a stone bar that’s built into one of the corners; and a few comfortable sofas that are covered by red Maasai Kikois.

Activities in the Tangulia Mara Camp include day game drives, guided nature walks, cultural and village visits, bush breakfasts, night game drives, bird watching, Maasai cultural visits, picnic lunches and sundowners.

Semadep Mara Camp

Semadep Mara Camp is located in the Masai Mara, about a kilometer from Masai Mara Reserve Sekenani gate. The camp is 19.4 kilometers from the Ol Kiombo Airstrip. Semadep is an acronym of ‘Sekanani Maasai Development Project’.

The camp has 12 permanent tents, each with 2 or 3 single beds, mosquito net(s), verandah with chairs and table and en-suite bathroom with flush toilet and hot shower. There is also a campsite where guests can pitch their own tents and in the campsite there are shared lavatory facilities.

Semadep Mara Camp offers locally sourced and traditionally prepared meals and guests get to enjoy the meals in the dining tent. The fully stocked bar serves a variety alcohol and soft drinks and guest may enjoy the drinks around the camp fire at night. There is also a shared kitchen, equipped with a dishwasher and minibar.

Riverside Camp Masai Mara

Riverside Camp Masai Mara is situated right on the banks of the Talek River in Talek and next to the Masai Mara ‘Talek Gate’. The camp is ideally placed offering views over the Talek River and has excellent access to the Masai Mara Game Reserve. Narok is less than 3 hours drive away.

The camp has 9 bandas, 3 double tented rooms and 9 family tented rooms. Each is room has a mosquito net and verandah with beautiful views of the Talek river and the Mara plains. The bathrooms are en-suite and have sinks, flush toilets and showers.

Rhino Tourist Tented Camp Masai Mara

Rhino Tourist Tented Camp Masai Mara is located on the slopes of the Oloolamuita Hills, a 1 kilometer from the Ololaimutia Gate and 7 kilometers from the Sekenani Gate of the Mara Reserve. Air transport takes 30 minutes from Nairobi Wilson Airport to Keekorok airstrip and a transfer distance of 7 kilometers from the camp.

The camp has 45 rooms comprising of 11 stone rooms and 34 tented rooms. There are 20 single rooms, 15 double rooms, 10 triple rooms and 5 family rooms. Each of the room has a mosquito net, private veranda ideal for relaxing and en-suite bathroom with showers, flush toilets and a washbasin.

All the tents are linked by a pathway framed by well-maintained flower bushes, manicured lawns and flanked by indigenous trees. Osim Country Lodge

Osim Country Lodge is a budget safari lodge situated on the banks of the River Ewaso Ngiro in Naboisho, 14 kilometers from the Narok Town. The lodge is 43 kilometers from Masai Mara.

The lodge has 12 rooms comprising of Manyattaa rooms and modern rooms. Each room is fitted with tile/marble floor, mosquito net, 3 seater sofa set, arm chairs and en-suite bathroom with shower/ bathtub.

Oldarpoi Mara Camp

Oldarpoi Mara Camp is a budget safari accommodation located along the Sekenani-Keekorok Road in Maasai Mara National Reserve in Kenya.

The camp is situated in Sekenani about 3 kilometers (10 minutes drive) to Sekenani Gate, the entrance of Masai Mara Game Reserve.

Nairobi is 234 kilometers from the camp. Oldarpoi Mara Camp offers basic and comfortable accommodation in 15 tents comprising of self contained tents and non-self contained tents.

The self-contained tents have mosquito nets, porches with armchairs and en-suite bathrooms with hot showers and flush toilets.

The non-self contained tents have mosquito nets and porches with armchairs and there is a large external ablution block with flush toilets, hot showers.

There is a large ground for camping which is well shaded by acacia trees. Guests will be provided with a small pitch up tent ideal for two people and sleeping bags.

Guests may also bring their own tent. There are hammocks available. There is no in-room dining facility but there is a buffet area, along with a small mini bar area.

Apart from the complete solar powered camp, it grows vegetables in the own organic garden. After dinner guests have activities by the camp fire such as storytelling and singing.

Oldarpoi Mara Camp is affiliated with I See Maasai Development Initiative (ISMDI). ISMDI invests the profits from Oldarpoi’s sustainable tourism camp into development projects in the local community.

Olkoroi Camp Masai Mara

Olkoroi Camp Masai Mara is located in the Loita Hills on the edge of a wildlife corridor linking the Naimina Enkiyio (Forest of the Lost Child) with the world famous Maasai Mara eco-system. The camp is close to the forested Olkeju Arus river in Masai Mara.

The camp has 4 safari tents each privately tucked away with exquisite views over the surrounding woodland and hills. Each tent has 2 beds, wooden chest, desk and its own outside open air shower and compost toilet.
