Kongoni Game Valley Lodge Naivasha is situated in the rift valley in the volcanic hills and open grasslands of the Western edge of Lake Naivasha in a private 2000 acre wildlife conservancy called Kongoni Valley Ranch.

2 Day Sezibwa Mabira River Nile Source Sipi Falls Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Jinja/ Kampala or Entebbe – Drive to Sezibwa Falls, Mabira Rainforest & Source of the Nile in Jinja
0600 Hours: We enjoy breakfast at out hotel in Kampala then depart by road at 0700 driving eastwards on the Kampala – Jinja highway.

Our first stop on the tour will be at Sezibwa Falls – a Buganda Cultural Heritage Site that is found in Mukono District. It is situated only 20 miles on the Kampala – Jinja Highway

Once at the site our local guide takes us on a 1 hour hike which includes a visit to the crystal-clear waterfalls. The grounds are very serene and cool with lots of birds, monkeys and butterflies.

A visit to a shrine is also included which has traditional worship items which were used by the Buganda. The local guide will give us the history about the Sezibwa.

After the tour of Sezibwa, we depart for a short 20 minutes drive to Mabira rainforest. Here we enjoy a 2 hour forest trek. Mabira is the largest forest in central Uganda spanning 306 square kilometers.

It supports plenty of life including 312 species of trees and shrubs, of some have been found to be unique to the forest.

There are over 316 species of birds, 219 moths and 35 species of small animals such as Duikers, Bushbuck, Squirrels, Red-tailed Monkeys, and Grey-cheeked Mangabeys.

After visiting Mabira we drive to Jinja town for lunch. Thereafter transfer to the Nile for a one hour boat ride to the Source of the Nile and Lake Victoria.

We explore the beautiful sights across the lake and the adjacent peninsula, and also see plenty of water birds such as Herons, Pelicans, Kingfishers, Egrets and more.

Later we drive to Mbale town, arriving in the evening. Check in at your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Mbale Town – Drive to Sipi Falls – Hike – Drive to Kampala
0800 Hours: After breakfast, we drive for an hour to Sipi Falls and with a local guide, start off the hike to the three waterfalls. You follow a trail 7 to 8 km's long that goes through local communities and their farms with tea and banana plantations.

Between visiting each waterfall you are treated to breathtaking landscape scenery, from the green slopes of Mountain Elgon to the distant flat plains of Karamoja in the distance.

Each waterfall offers an experience different from another, from the plunge, beautiful views, caves, to rainbows. The entire hike takes 3 to 4 hours.

You will visit the first waterfall from the top and descending down to the second and finally to the third at the end of the trail which is the biggest and main one. It is has a large whirlpool which you can dive in for a swim in the cold water.

At the end of the trek, you will have lunch in Sipi and later travel back to Kampala arriving in the evening.

0600 Hours: Depart from Kampala driving eastwards about 276 Kilometers to Mbale town where we shall have our lunch.

1200 Hours: After lunch you will drive another 1 ½ hour’s to our accommodation near the Romantic Sipi falls. The afternoon is left for you to decide on what to do.

You could take a 2-hour coffee tour to see on how coffee processed (picked, dried, roasted, and also do a coffee tasting). Then return to the lodge.

1800 Hours: Enjoy the cool breeze and have the best of your scenic moments as you watch the sun go down. Check in at your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Great Rift Valley Lodge Golf Resort Naivasha is a luxury Lodge perched on the side of the Eburru Escarpment overlooking the sparkling waters of Lake Naivasha and the sweeping floor of the world's largest valley, the Great Rift Valley.

Great Rift Valley Lodge is an hour and a half’s drive or a 30-minute flight from Nairobi and about 24 kilometers from Naivasha town.

The Great Rift Valley Lodge offers 21 twin rooms and 9 double rooms in two- and three-storey blocks. Each en-suite and charmingly furnished with large four-poster beds and handmade wooden furniture.

There are 40 modern 3-bedroomed villas each with a living room, dining room and kitchen take the entire floor with the master bedroom on the top tier. The ground floor has the two bedrooms with great views of the mountain and the lake.

Set on the slopes of a small dormant volcano with unspoilt scenery in all directions is an 18-hole golf course is laid out around the Great Rift Valley Lodge and along the fairways are 80 generously spaced privately owned homes.

The front nine holes of the course enjoy the best views, but the back nine are where guests will find the more challenging and exciting golf.

The lodge has 2 restaurants serving homemade table d’hôte cuisine and al fresco continental lunches, luxurious lounge bar with sunset terrace, and 2 clay tennis courts.

Fishermans Camp Lake Naivasha

Fisherman’s Camp Naivasha is situated on the shores of Lake Naivasha, within the Great Rift Valley of Kenya. The camp is 20 km's along the South Lake Road from Naivasha Town and 2 hours drive from Nairobi.

The Camp Naivasha is situated on two levels, with a range of accommodation options to suit a variety of budgets.

Bottom Camp offers camping, banda (small chalets) and dormitory accommodation, which is set on the beautiful green lawns at the water’s edge.

Top Camp sits above South Lake Road and has a number of cottages to suit a range of budgets, all with a veranda looking out to the Lake. Lavatory facilities are shared.

The Fisherman’s restaurant has offers a wide variety of meals, from traditional ugali, tasty local steaks to a hearty fry up and which includes the popular wood fired pizza.

The bar serves cold drinks or honey Dawa cocktail as guests watch the sun go down, watch the black and white colobus monkeys and the changing colors of the lake.

Fish Eagle Inn Naivasha

Fish Eagle Inn Naivasha hotel is situated on the southern shores of Lake Naivasha off Moi South Lake Road in Naivasha. The hotel offers cottage accommodation and a camp-site.

Fish Eagle Inn Naivasha is located south west Kenya about (2 hours drive) 90 kilometers from Nairobi and only 20 kilometers from Naivasha town.

The hotel has 19 standard rooms, 22 executive rooms, 2 suites, 4 (1 bedroom cottages) and 5 (2 bedroom cottages). Each unit is en-suite and has satellite TV and tea/ coffee making facilities.
